TTC - first cycle - baby #1

Blondeandbroody · 05/12/2019 00:32

I thought I’d create a space for people like me who are in their first cycle of TTC for baby number 1! Be nice to progress and learn together!

I do rely heavily on the advice of people further along in their journeys but I also love speaking to people in the exact same boat as me who are clueless about all of this and just starting on their journey. It’s comforting to know we’re not alone and not crazy haha!

If you wanna join (please do) then maybe share your CD, DPO and AF due date (if you know it).

I am:
CD - 18
DPO - around 2 or 3 can’t be sure
AF due - 16th December

I am just off the mini pill on which I had semi regular AFs and I stopped the pill on CD 1, when my last AF started. So I can’t be sure of anything other than my CD!!

Omg @Blondeandbroody this is exactly me too !!! Wink
AF due 16 dec
CD 20
DPO 3

My cycle isn't usually that long but this app I'm using just gather all my recent months and sprouted out this figure but I reckon AF is due a bit sooner (or maybe just trying to convince myself so I can test sooner) Grin

Have you been going mad waiting to test ? Unfortunately a side effect of DTD has left me with an awful urinary tract infection :( I so so hope it works this time but I know we have to manage our expectations!!

Blondeandbroody · 05/12/2019 08:24

Hey @Newbie1992 is it driving me mad waiting, hell yeah! Haha it's insane I had no idea how hard this was going to be! Turns out the actual making a baby stuff is easy because we can't control that bit other than DTD! It's the waiting part that's so hard!!

I have seen so many lovely ladies on here have chemical pregnancies from testing early and then feeling that heartbreak when AF comes and mine breaks for them.

We need to make a pact not to test until at LEAST the 16th December haha!

And then maybe bet who will cave first 😂

OP posts:
Newbie1992 · 05/12/2019 08:30

Omg yes @Blondeandbroody!! 😂😂 we will stick to it together !! I actually even thought maybe I wouldn't test until missed period but that is very ambitious 😂😂

Do you think you have any symptoms yet ? 🤗

Newbie1992 · 05/12/2019 08:31

Oh and what's a chemical pregnancy? 😖😖

Blondeandbroody · 05/12/2019 08:44

@Newbie1992 so I think it's where an early test shows up positive but then you get your AF and negative tests x

OP posts:
Blondeandbroody · 05/12/2019 08:46

@Newbie1992 I've been having mild cramps the last 2 days and they're back again today but no other symptoms really but I'm only maximum 4dpo minimum 2dpo as I'm not sure exactly when I ovulated. So I think it's nothing certainly not getting too excited to early and as it's my first cycle off the pill too x

What about you?

OP posts:
Newbie1992 · 05/12/2019 08:53

@Blondeandbroody oh no, that sounds awful :( best to leave it well until af is due then !!

Haha your symptoms are exactly mine too, just like, abdominal pressure but it's too soon for implantation so I don't even know !! There's so so many stories out there and it's hard because literally everyone's experience is different so you don't know what to expect! I think as soon as you come off pill you are perfectly fertile again no wait period like some contraceptives?? So you never know:) :)

Blondeandbroody · 05/12/2019 08:57

@Newbie1992 yep 😞

yeah that's true so you can get a BFP quickly but it can take a while for your cycle to settle down too and make hard to know what your cycle is etc so I am just treating the day of my last bleed which was 18/11 as CD1 and gonna try and wait til CD 28 to test so another 10 days and maybe test on 16/12 if no AF

I was on mini pill and still had a AF pretty much every months except a few where I had nothing or one time I had two in one month haha!

Time will tell, it's hard being due your AF before Christmas because I keep thinking about all that stuff to distract myself but then remember I'll know if I get a BFP or BFN before all of that so it's hard to distract myself with Christmas and lots of things happening this month! Urgh! I HATE waiting!!

emstone · 06/12/2019 22:01

Hi! I'd like to join please!

I only had my implant out today so it may take a while for my body to get back into it's own routine but I can live in hope haha!

Blondeandbroody · 06/12/2019 22:39

@emstone hey!!

I saw a post today of somebody who had their implant out two weeks ago and they were ovulating today, so maybe not too long lovely!!

What's your plan going forward? See how it goes? Are you tracking anything? Using any apps? X

Symptomspotter86 · 06/12/2019 22:51

Hey ladies. I am also in the same boat however 7dpo

Such a scary world as so much to read and so many stories and conflicting messages. I feel very consumed by it all already. I'm going to test on Monday but also worried it is a little too early as af due on Wednesday. I'm 33 and husband is 34 so I hope this ut doesn't take too long for us

Blondeandbroody · 07/12/2019 00:36

@Symptomspotter86
Hey lovely the wait is agonising isn't it.
I go through phases of being relaxed to wanting to rip my hair out!
I've read so many stories of people having a chemical pregnancy that made me really want to wait until I'm due to get AF!
However I get tempted daily to test now and I think I'm only between 3-6 DPO.
I hear it's worse to get a BFN and then your AF a few days later and general advice is to wait but it's not that easy!!
I don't really know what my cycle is so it's hard to say when anything happened or when anything's due.
Trying hard not to symptom spot either but ha it's impossible!!
I have every hope that it happens quickly for us all!

alfiok · 07/12/2019 01:21

First cycle baby #1 for me!

AF due 15 Dec but my cycle length varies
CD 19
DPO 5 however I had EWCM 2 - 3 days before the ovulation date on my app. My CM then changed to white and sticky and today I felt like I was back to EWCM, so clearly I have a lot to learn about my body

OH and I decided to stop preventing pregnancy this month but weren't going to necessarily actively try but then I started to research and got sucked in real quick. I would be an older mom at 37, I was widowed young so never started a family. OH and I are getting married next year but I am anxious about my age and would be devastated if we prevented pregnancy and then missed out on our opportunity for a family. So here we go!

Batjk8484 · 07/12/2019 01:45

Hi ladies I have a question I'm so clueless as to what's up
I'm currently 5 days late I got a BFP (big fat positive) of 11 DPO (days post ovulation) with the ic at 10mLu then barely any positives after that then at 19 DPO (days post ovulation) I got a good BFP (big fat positive) on another ic with fmu but the sensitivity on that was 25 mIU and every morning since then I have taken one and still have gotten positive but this morning I took one and a cleablue digi and got a not pregnant then a faint line on my 25miu cheaply test.
Could I still be pregnant ?.
I'm so afraid it would be my first baby
I'm afraid to make an appointment to obgyn and then them tell me I'm not

Newbie1992 · 07/12/2019 07:45

Hi @Batjk8484 if I were you I would deffo make dr. Appointment! It very much seems you are pregnant !! And whatever they tell you, professional advice is going to be helpful at this time !

Hi to everyone new :)

Guess who woke up in a blind panic and decided to test a whopping 8 days before AF due ??! 🙄🙄🙄 I just hoped, may be my app got it all wrong and it was actually due sooner so I could test ! After convincing myself of that, and then getting a negative, I'm now afraid that in fact the app may have been right and it's just not my month :(

Sorry @Blondeandbroody I broke the pact 🤣🤣 I regret it though, it was just upsetting... I keep thinking I'm having sensations in my abdominal area though so I convinced myself to test 😞😞 how are you doing with it all ??? Not long left to af date xx

Batjk8484 · 07/12/2019 07:49

@Newbie1992 Thank you for replying to me I will defo make a doctors appointment on monday I'm so excited but so worried at the same time

Newbie1992 · 07/12/2019 07:55

@batjk8484 no worries. It can actually be such an isolating time because in your real circle of friends and family it can be hard to discuss, these forums are a lifeline to us all 😊😊 you should be excited for Monday, the best thing is you have had your bfp more than once, that is brilliant no matter what! Let us know how you get on Monday if you want :) fingers crossed for you!!

Batjk8484 · 07/12/2019 07:59

I really hope so to it hasn't sinked in yet I wasnt gonna get my Hope's up till the doctor confirmed and everything

Blondeandbroody · 07/12/2019 09:11

@alfiok haha OMG how easy is it to get sucked in! I had every intention of just seeing what happens and all of a sudden I'm tracking things I didn't knew I could or should!

Fingers crossed for you lovely!

OP posts:
Blondeandbroody · 07/12/2019 09:23

@Batjk8484 I would definitely make an appointment so that they can confirm what's going on for you! Fingers crossed for you lovely xx

@Newbie1992 you broke our pact 😱 !!! Haha oh who are we kidding we both knew we would!

I've started worrying that my apps are wrong saying I'm due on 15/16th because my October AF and November AF were 30 days apart so I've adjusted my apps for a 30 day cycle just so I'm not sat on 16th which would be a 28 day cycle thinking she's late. So I've got until 18th now!

I had some cramps the other day for 2 days and now everything I feel that's in my stomach/lady area I feel is something and then proceed to google everything!

I had a low cervix and convinced myself I wasn't pregnant then it was high again and then I read somebody say cervix changes only matter at like 12dpo and I'm no more than 6/7. mucus just confuses me and I don't actually know wtf it means ha! I'm trying to chill a bit in the symptom spotting!

We have a big occasion for my OH this week so I don't want to test until at least next weekend because I don't want to distract him from all of that and I won't be able to not tell him if I were BFP. I won't tell him if it's BFN though because he just said tell me when you get a positive.

I've sort of decided I am just going to see what my body tells me over the next 10 days and let that be my guide.

I have read so much on here the last few days of so many ladies getting BFP and then it not sticking and that must be so heartbreaking I want to avoid that if I can by not testing too soon. At least you know now the dangers of testing early as it has you upset but actually it could just be too early lovely so as they say you're not out until AF comes!

With each cycle we also get a better understanding of our cycles. I think I might cave and get some OPKs so that I can know when I've ovulated but I'm not sure I wanna go down that rabbit hole just yet! Hopefully we all get our BFPs though!!!!!

Readyforthis · 07/12/2019 09:25

Hi ladies, I stopped taking my pill on Monday so still all very new. I usually have my 7 day break bleed 3/4 days after the last pill but nothing as of yet. I just want to know where I am at with cycles. I have got OPKs to try afterwards. Feeling like I need to prepare myself for a potentially long journey with this. Wishing I had stopped sooner 😩

emstone · 07/12/2019 09:53

@Blondeandbroody I was chatting to someone else and they gave birth to their DC 9 months and 10 days after having the implant removed!! I think she was very lucky haha!

My plan of action is to see how things go for now, I have a lot of other things that I need to concentrate on (being away for Christmas, organizing my partners 30th, wedding stuff) but I'm using a couple of apps to try track how things go.

Once things have calmed down a little around end of February time and I still haven't got a BFP, I'll try tracking with OPKs a bit closer? I can get quite obsessive about things so don't want to get sucked in too much but I know it's probably inevitable haha!

IslayBrigid · 07/12/2019 10:15

Hello! Great idea to start a thread on this. I am also in the same boat, cycle 1 of TTC. I'm on CD 14 today and just got a positive LH test. Actually, what do you guys think? Is the bottom stick positive would you say?
Looking forward to following everyone's journeys!

TTC - first cycle - baby #1
Blondeandbroody · 07/12/2019 10:25

@Readyforthis the worst part I have found is not knowing where I'm at with my cycle so I've been trying for the last 3 weeks to just adopt the see what happens and take each day as it comes and hopefully soon I'll have a better idea (or a BFP). Best thing you can do is just DTD every couple of days or regularly enough so that you catch it you ovulate when you aren't expecting it etc to give yourself the best chance and then see how you get on once your cycle regulate better? Xx

OP posts:
Blondeandbroody · 07/12/2019 10:26

@IslayBrigid I've never done OPKs but I can only assume that the stronger the line the more positive it is? I say get getting busy haha ,
