TTC - first cycle - baby #1

I thought I’d create a space for people like me who are in their first cycle of TTC for baby number 1! Be nice to progress and learn together!

I do rely heavily on the advice of people further along in their journeys but I also love speaking to people in the exact same boat as me who are clueless about all of this and just starting on their journey. It’s comforting to know we’re not alone and not crazy haha!

If you wanna join (please do) then maybe share your CD, DPO and AF due date (if you know it).

I am:
CD - 18
DPO - around 2 or 3 can’t be sure
AF due - 16th December

I am just off the mini pill on which I had semi regular AFs and I stopped the pill on CD 1, when my last AF started. So I can’t be sure of anything other than my CD!!

Hi everyone - now 7dpo and no discernable symptoms. Just cramping around last weekend and I've felt tired / like I'm coming down with a cold.

Not out of the running yet but I'm somehow doubtful. Most people get symptoms after a week?

How is everyone doing on this thread , any bfp to celebrate xx :)

I'm due on Saturday and have the usual perjod symptoms so I guess it wasn't our month. First go though!

@yorkshirelass04 you just never know yet :) I was out a long time ago this month unfortunately:( now in cycle 2 and have dtd a good bit more this month so hoping it will be our month 🤗🤗 is this your first ?

@Newbie1992 yeah its my first! I'm 36 and have been deliberating about whether it's worth it for a while. Decided to try and see where we get to.

Was hoping a saucy weekend in Whitby would do the trick!

Af was due yesterday for me but she's a no show. I have had some very faint second lines over the last 2 days but also brown cm which feels like af may start but who knows.
I'm going to try to hold out to see what happens and test Friday or Saturday... But now I e seen those very faint lines I'm eager to see them get stronger 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

So I have my period but it's a day late and very scanty. Hardly need a tampon.
I'm a bit confused - is this a coincidence?
All tests are negative.

It has been Xmas and I had a bad cold so maybe that's affected it?

It could be a slow starter due to your cold... Maybe see how it goes over the next few days. Sometimes my af is really light on day 1...

An update from me.. I had a 4 days of faint positives but yesterday (Sunday) I retested at 18dpo and it was negative ☹️ i don't really know why I tested again but I was aware the line wasn't getting any stronger.

I'm disappointed but it's the way it works sometimes... af is now 6 days late, 19dpo. BFN but still symptoms (sore boobs mostly) so it's very confusing. I'm just waiting for af to arrive now 😕

This TTC business is an awful lot of overthinking... Hope you're all OK xx

It's rough, but once AF arrives there is a feeling of comfort in at least you know where you stand this cycle. I had a lovely 36 day cycle last month (had a 10-hour flight just past ovulation and a 6-hour flight just before AF was supposed to be due) which made me anxious about whether or not I could be drinking around Christmas. Once AF showed up properly it was a bit of a deep breath before looking towards the next cycle dates.

TTC lends itself SO much to overthinking. I understand much better now how hearbreaking it can be after a long period of trying. I'm in my fertile window now for cycle 2, so been BDing in the hopes of better luck this time. Also have some OPK tests to help firm up exactly when in my cycle ovulation actually happens.

So sorry about the ups and downs, @Sausage1990. Fingers crossed next cycle bring better luck for you!

Hi all, I’d like to join please

My OH and I are TTC our first. We’re still in cycle 1 but I’ve had 2 negatives tests and AF is due today and I think I can feel signs she’s on her way so we’re definitely out this month.

But I’m excited for cycle 2 to start today/tomorrow. I have 30 ish day cycles but they’re not exact, always fluctuate between 28 and 31 days. I’m using OPKS but I’m going to try temping this cycle with FF for the first time.

Anyone else in a similar position? My OH is wonderfully supportive but I don’t think it’s the same for guys is it? It’s ALL I can think about and he’s more “I’ll be excited when we get pregnant but until then I’m mr super chilled about it all” He’s very good tho, he’s listened while I’ve shown him all the graphs and info about conception, how it happens, fertile windows etc etc bless him But it would be great to have some other ladies in similar positions to support each other while we go through it!

I think I got my BFP today!

Hi guys can I join too please? TTC For my 1st! I’m 30...and feel so ready. My first TTC cycle was last month and my AF has just finished on Monday so onto my 2nd cycle. Going to try and follow the SMEP plan which means Friday - it’s going down! Fingers crossed!!

Any tips or learnings anyone’s got from their first TTC? My tip is don’t lay there and not have a wee and clean up otherwise you will get a UTI just like I did and need antibiotics! (You all can say DUH)
