Created a new thread as the other one was full. Hope everyone finds it okay!!

Yammers thread 11!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Lilzpk glad that cycle is over for you! Long cycles are so frustrating!
I had clomid when TTC DS1. It took three rounds for me to get pregnant. The mood swings on it were horrendous for me. Like really bad PMS. It was absolutely worth it for me obviously! I've also heard of a lot of people favouring letrozole.

I finally got a peak on my OPK. Hopefully I'll get the continued temp rises to follow it!

Hope your ok @Lilzpk sounds like you've had a rough time I got a BFP first round of clomid but unfortunately it didn't stick. It's bearable as a drug so long as your other half is supportive.
Fingers crossed @NoseringGirl what cycle day you on?
Egg collection went really well I got 18 eggs which is amazing now just hoping they're good ones. We'll get a call today to say how many fertilised. I think @Mseddy is on this thread thank you for support regarding sedation I had a very mild sedation was awake and alert the whole time as he wanted me to be able to cough when needed. It did hurt but no more than a trip to the dentist. Freak out was unesacary 😂 x

NoseringGirl · 02/11/2019 09:38

@impatientlyinfertile I'm so glad the egg collection went well and they managed to get so many! Hoping you get good news about the fertilisation!
I'm only CD19 which isn't late ovulation for me. My temps have been rising since CD11 though so my chart looks a bit weird!

impatientlyinfertile · 02/11/2019 10:16

14 eggs fertilised 💃🎉 x

NoseringGirl · 02/11/2019 10:54

@impatientlyinfertile that's fantastic news!!! 🥳🥳🥳

@mseddy oh great, that really isn't too long at all! I hope you are doing well on the drugs. I'm trying not too read too much about it because I will probably stress myself out!

AF arrived a few days ago for me, so cd5 now. We got our letter through from the hospital for our off assessment. We have to have hiv and hepatitis tests first so we're doing those on Monday. I heard that stuff has to happen within 3 months of those tests, so taking this as a good sign!

@dragonmummy17 thank you and massive congrats!! 😊😊

PineappleC · 02/11/2019 12:11

*ivf, not off!

Lilzpk · 02/11/2019 12:19

Thank you ladies, for your perspectives, I'm very wary of the clomid, because I have a history of mental health issues, it's under control at the moment and I'm afraid to compromise that. I'll have to make sure the right supports are in place.

@impatientlyinfertile
That's amazing news, so happy for you.

@NoseringGirl. It's great that you got your peak. Is there anything you think might have influenced your temps rising since CD 11? I'm rubbish with temping, I stopped because I was far too invested in trying to micromanage ttc, I'm an obsessive nightmare if I let myself get carried away.

NoseringGirl · 02/11/2019 13:45

@PineappleC sorry for AF but it sounds like things are moving in the right direction with upcoming tests. Hopefully it'll all go smoothly and quickly for you!

@Lilzpk I completely get that worry with clomid. I hadn't realised how it was going to impact on my mental health. Once I realised it was the clomid making me feel like that, I was able to manage it better if that makes sense? Definitely worth making sure you've got the right supports in place, it doesn't seem to effect everyone in the same way though so you might be lucky with it if you end up taking it!
I use an Ava bracelet to track my temps so they're a lot more accurate than when I was doing it orally. I know what you mean about being obsessive and micromanaging. I'm definitely like that too! I find I'm mildly less stressed when I collect lots of data than if I'm doing it blind and trying to guess what's happening. Hard to not get over invested in it though!

@impatientlyinfertile glad egg collection wasn't too painful, and 18 eggs is fantastic! Well done.

I had my first stim scan yesterday and it was bad news, I only have 4 follicles responding to stim and 11 doing nothing at all. The 4 that have responded arnt as big as they should be at this point so they might amount to nothing. I feel like crap and have cried my way through my morning at work. Its shit because technically our infertility issues are male factor, but obviously my body decided it wasn't going to miss out on the infertility party and has got right on board! Not sure what this means for this cycle, hope we find out more at our second scan tomorrow

Jojowash · 02/11/2019 22:42

@impatientlyinfertile

Wow 14! That's great!! When's the next stage? Xxx

NoseringGirl · 03/11/2019 13:17

@Mseddy I'm sorry the scan didn't go as well as hoped, I hope things are better at today's scan!

OP posts:
Mseddy · 03/11/2019 14:35

@NoseringGirl slightly better, but still not promising. They have scheduled egg collection for Wednesday, better than cancelling the cycle which I really thought they would!

NoseringGirl · 03/11/2019 15:00

@Mseddy if they've scheduled the egg collection then that must be a good sign. Hoping it all goes really well for you!

OP posts:
impatientlyinfertile · 03/11/2019 20:19

How you feeling today @Mseddy is didn't think they scheduled egg collection until eggs where a certain size. Do you have another can tomorrow?
Yes it should def be writhing 3 months of those @PineappleC 🤞
Next step is an update tomorrow then hopefully getting one put back on Wednesday. If we've lost a lot then they will ask us to drive up tomorrow x

Mseddy · 04/11/2019 20:52

@impatientlyinfertile I'm feeling alright, just going with the flow. They keep telling me they want them bigger but have scheduled it anyway so I have no idea! How are you eggs doing?

impatientlyinfertile · 04/11/2019 21:23

Maybe they'll push it back if necessary @Mseddy . Have everything crossed for you. I have lots still but she referred to the quality as ok which I've been obsessing over all day 😂🙄 most have the right number of cells. Just need to distract myself one more day.

Mseddy · 05/11/2019 00:05

I triggered tonight so I guess they can't push it back anymore. Just need to cross everything!! Good luck for your embryos tomorrow!

impatientlyinfertile · 05/11/2019 15:10

Good luck with egg collection @Mseddy x

Mseddy · 06/11/2019 07:21

Thanks @impatientlyinfertile. Good luck with embryo transfer

impatientlyinfertile · 07/11/2019 08:05

How's things go @Mseddy ? Transfer is I bit like a smear got one put back in waiting to hear how many they can freeze x

Mseddy · 07/11/2019 08:50

@impatientlyinfertile fingers crossed for a sticky little bean!! And I hope you get lots of frosties too. I got 10 eggs which is way more than I was expecting after my crappy scans!

PineappleC · 09/11/2019 17:42

@Mseddy that sounds much better than you expected! Fingers crossed the next stage goes well 🤞

@impatientlyinfertile fingers crossed for you too!

We had our tests done on last weem, but apparently is not as quick as i'd hoped. Hiv/hep results take 2-3weeks, then we get referred for "eligibility screening", then actually start at the ivf clinic. No idea what the eligibility thing is - they've already got all our tests and personal details. Hopefully that's just another "hoop"!

impatientlyinfertile · 09/11/2019 19:36

@PineappleC it might be an internal scan I had to have one with my clinic.
@Mseddy 10 is great have you booked transfer yet?
I'm 3 days passed transfer now which is a bit like being 8dpo and I've got a horrible feeling it hasn't worked x

Mseddy · 10/11/2019 12:10

@PineappleC yeah it was alot more than we where expecting! All the waiting is so hard! But you just have to keep thinking of the end goal and it makes it just about bareable!

@impatientlyinfertile we have ET booked for tomorrow. Last I heard we had 6 fertilised, but our clinic only update us on day 1 and day 5, or day 3 if they need to transfer early. Try to stay positive! All the drugs we are on could mask any symptoms anyway! Plus you have so many frosties that if the worst happens, you have lots of little babies waiting to be the one
