Yammers thread 11!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Mseddy sorry I forgot to tag you.
And possibly @dragonmummy17 🤷🏻‍♀️ I should have asked really x

impatientmammy · 17/10/2019 19:41

@dragonmummy17 I use period pants at the start with the cup really helps relax just in case. Sorry I read all the messages earlier and made a mental note to reply but clearly it didn't work very well 🙄 d

Mseddy · 18/10/2019 09:13

@impatientmammy I should get my protocol on Sunday, it'll be interesting to see how similar/different our protocols are. I didn't know they did different strengths of IVF

impatientmammy · 18/10/2019 16:17

You'll have to let me know @Mseddy either way it'll be nice to have someone on here doing it with me x

Momnishambles · 19/10/2019 14:46

@impatientmammy that looks very similar to the protocol I have! Good luck 😁😁 (good luck to you to @Mseddy) you’ll have to keep me up to date with how it is!

@NoseringGirl hope your feeling a bit better today or if not better have wine and chocolate in close reach!

Been a bit MIA myself I’ve had food poisoning, now 17dpo (I think) and still no AF and still BFN. So now I’m completely doubting myself and thinking maybe got it wrong (doc saw a ready egg on an ultrasound but I guess that doesn’t mean i ovulated straight away??) I did opks and they were high and low again on the Sunday but I really struggled to decide when it was highest. (Those with a weak stomach look away now 😂) now I’m back to egg white CM ... maybe I didn’t ovulate at all?!

Driving myself absolutely mad.... all suggestions I get a grip welcome

Hope your all having a lovely weekend!

impatientmammy · 19/10/2019 19:08

@Momnishambles is it possible your body delayed an ovulationthat was about to happen due to the stress of the big? Is that a thing? X

NoseringGirl · 19/10/2019 23:02

@Momnishambles I'm feeling better thanks but still had some wine and chocolate today! Grin
Which tests have you been using? Though most women will get a positive by 17DPO, there's always a chance there's a reason you haven't yet! I sometimes get EWCM before AF but I've also read about women getting it before a BFP so you never know! Maybe something delayed ovulation for an extra few days? I hope you get answers soon, limbo is always difficult!

So dr told us Michaels sperm is normal I just looked again at it with Google's help and his normal formation is only 4% which is the very bottom of normal scale c

MorgenMuffel · 20/10/2019 09:29

hi all. sorry for dropping off this, had a busy month including surgery (minor) so TTC not been at the forefront of my mind! AF due Wed so ramping up for the next cycle. Just got to shift my post antibiotic thrush first Blush

NoseringGirl · 20/10/2019 12:07

@impatientmammy my DH's morphology was 2% when he was last tested. The amount it matters really depends on what the count is like, if you've got a normal to high count then morphology isn't necessarily a big problem.

@MorgenMuffel I hope you're recovering well from the surgery. Antibiotics always do that to me as well. I've started taking a probiotic whenever I need antibiotics which helps prevent thrush. Hope it clears up soon!

OP posts:
impatientmammy · 20/10/2019 12:36

It's 47 million I think @NoseringGirl

Hope your ok @MorgenMuffel thrush is the worst x

GreyC · 20/10/2019 12:44

Can I join?
Just gone through a failed ICSI round after a couple years ttc- was originally MFI but now unexplained due to DP changing his life style with some good vitamins which have now risen his count to 15milion and 53% progressive form. I have low AMH as family have history of early menopause.
I am unsure if we want to go through ivf again and cost is a huge factor.

So we are going to go back to ttc for a year while we decide on either embark on ivf or adopt.

NoseringGirl · 20/10/2019 12:49

@impatientmammy so even though 4% seems low, 4% of 47 million sperm is still quite a lot of normal form sperm if that makes sense?

Welcome @GreyC sorry to hear about your failed ICSI round. Sounds like you've been through a lot!

OP posts:
Mseddy · 20/10/2019 13:28

@impatientmammy I'm useless with helping out on sperm analysis, since we got a flat "nada" I've never really looked into what normal is. Although I think ours has motility issues (11% if that even makes sense) post being defrosted which is why we are having icsi.
I got my protocol this morning and are due to start when AF comes on Thursday. We are on 450ui of meriofert for 9 days, fyremadel starting on day 6,with a scan on day 9 to check on things and make a plan for there.
I didn't ask them what my AMH was because I figured it was just another number for me to stress over, but now I'm half wishing I had asked because instead I'm googling to see if my dose of meriofert is high! Our booklet gives ranges from 75 - 600 so I'm guessing I'm on the higher side of things. I need to work on chilling out and leaving it up to the professionals!

@MorgenMuffel I seem to get thrust at the drop of a hat! Hope it clears up quickly for you. As disgusting as the concept is, lots of natural yoghurt down there works really quickly!

Hey @GreyC, fingers crossed for TTC this time

impatientmammy · 20/10/2019 17:00

@Mseddy my med dosage is low so don't compare with mine also it's a diferent drug anyway.
Thank you everyone for getting back we can't afford ICSI and really didn't want to lend money for it so maybe unless the suggest it might try without this round. Af came about 4ish which means I need to class tomorow as cd1 first injection Tuesday which I'm oddly excited for 😂 x

Mseddy · 20/10/2019 18:12

@impatientmammy I get the excitement, I'm almost jealous mine isn't here for another few days! Good luck with the first Jab

dragonmummy17 · 20/10/2019 20:57

@MorgenMuffel thrush is the worst. Hope it clears quickly
@GreyC welcome. Sorry for the failed ICSI
@impatientmammy good luck with the first jab tomorrow

MorgenMuffel · 21/10/2019 11:30

@impatientmammy hope the first job goes well tomorrow.

@mseddy fingers crossed it is getting a bit easier otherwise I'll be popping to the ship for some natural yoghurt on the way home😂

@greyc hi, sorry to hear you've been through so much and good luck for TTC this time

impatientmammy · 22/10/2019 13:14

Thank you ladies. I'm excited 😆🙈 I'll let you know how it goes.
Hope things have cleared up @MorgenMuffel X

NoseringGirl · 22/10/2019 16:38

Good luck today @impatientmammy thinking of you and your needle!

impatientmammy · 22/10/2019 22:39

Jojowash · 23/10/2019 10:57

Hi guys 👋🏻

We've been trying since December 2018, although we have fallen pregnant twice only to lose babies twice. Not sure if this breaks the thou shall nots :-)

I booked for blood tests 2nd December to check for problems with me. Clotting, immune, thyroid etc. Had to push for this..

After doing lots of research have come across a natural supplement that some fertility clinics tell their patients to take, I suppose that's why fertility forums help, they give away trade secrets 🤷‍♀️

Anyway it's called Ubiquinol, it's a quite interesting read, it improves cell quality and strengthens DNA structures. Ultimately it's great for egg and sperm quality.

natural-fertility-info.com/antioxidant-ubiquinol.html

I ordered some and we started taking it yesterday, so I can't say it it's as good as they say it is.

Guys what vitamins are you taking?

I have already got strong iron tabs to take, plus I take a woman's probiotic, pre-conception vitamins. It upsets my stomach a bit though so have come to dread taking. Not sure if it's a bad combination.

We use the sperm meets eggs method.

I'm building up so much anxiety now each month. It's such a draining emotional rollercoaster all the time.

I can't remember what we used to do before trying for a baby it's taken over somewhat.

Do you guys still drink? I have taken to having a drink again, few glasses red to relax and kinda feel like me again. You kind of put everything on hold, which makes it a huge elephant in the room that you're not getting pregnant.

Good-luck to you all on your TWW

impatientlyinfertile · 23/10/2019 13:00

Hi @Jojowash I don't remember the thou shalt nots anymore but I'm pretty sure you've not broken any. I'm so sorry for your losses. I only take the prenatal vits now as my clinic basically said if any of that worked I wouldn't need them (ivf) I have taken things in the past though. I don't drink but I wasn't really a glass of wine on an evening kind of girl anyway more go out out or why bother so if a night out is planned on my period I have had a couple of night outs. I don't think a glass here and there will do you any harm. I think you've def done the right thing with the blood tests. My clinic noted a high TSH and advised I start meds or it could prevent a healthy implantation the dr considered my levels fine and would never have done anything about it. I hope the vits you've got help x

impatientlyinfertile · 23/10/2019 13:00

Oh also I forgot to say I've have a name change I was impatient mammy x

NoseringGirl · 23/10/2019 20:55

@Jojowash welcome! I don't think you're breaking any of the rules! Really sorry for your losses and best wishes for the testing.
As for vitamins/supplements I just finished a course of iron tablets recently. They definitely upset my stomach! I'm still taking higher dose folic acid, vitamin b complex, Co-enzyme Q10 and Omega 3 (it's a specific type with two things but can't remember the letters off the top of my head!)
I also take metformin but it's been prescribed to me for PCOS.
I do drink, I don't really drink huge amounts. I'm more a glass of wine with a meal or couple of pints when I'm out type rather than a lot of binge drinking mostly because I can't handle the hangovers anymore!

@impatientlyinfertile how are you? Did the first injection go well?

I just got my first high on my OPK this cycle so I guess I'm heading into my fertile days. After two regular and ovulatory cycles, I'm worrying that I'm due another run of anovulatory ones. Will see what happens!
