Created a new thread as the other one was full. Hope everyone finds it okay!!

Yammers thread 11!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Unfortunately there's no way of getting out of it, it's for a very close family member. Which is worse in some ways because other family members will be asking questions and being generally nosey ☹️ I'm on 1000mg daily, I don't usually have issues around ovulation, so I'm not very hopefull about metformin helping me personally. I'm really at the end of being hopefull about becoming pregnant at all. I think we'll give it the rest of the year and if we don't fall pregnant again we've been talking about dh getting a vasectomy and us moving in a different direction for building our family. It's just hard to keep living through the pain and not knowing when to call it a day for the sake of mental wellbeing

NoseringGirl · 09/10/2019 18:20

@Lilzpk that's the same dose I'm on, but agree that I'm not sure what it does if you're normally ovulating. I hope the endocrinologist surprises you and it's a helpful appointment. Sounds like you're understandably having a really tough time. Keeping everything crossed that things improve for you soon!

impatientmammy · 09/10/2019 18:59

I'm so sorry @Lilzpk I hope something happens for you soon
It's just constant @NoseringGirl I've upped my water and I've got an appointment at the clinic tomorrow so I'll mention it then.
Do you ladies think you will have baby showers I'm not sure I would anymore seeing how hard it could be for someone without you even knowing x

Momnishambles · 09/10/2019 19:31

Hi!
Hope you all don’t mind me joining in. I’m kinda in a weird place with TTC, I’ve believed for about 10 years it is impossible for me to conceive due to chemo. And in the last few months it’s turns out that is not the case and I am going to start IVF and in a mad twist I am now in the TWW because the doc saw I was about to ovulate while I had my appointment.

I read some of the other TWW threads and it highlighted how little a clue I have about any of this, so I came in here with absolutely no Yams. (I have no idea what yams do anyways..... Confused)

How is everyone?

impatientmammy · 09/10/2019 19:46

Hi @Momnishambles No yams here either don't worry 😂 when are you looking at starting ivf? 🤞you don't need to though x

Momnishambles · 09/10/2019 19:51

Hi!
Starting hormones in December depending on my period (which is anything from 28 - 50 days) so probably about January time for possible pregnancy. Thanks !! I don’t think so though I have had a lot of cramps the past 24h so I suspect AF is due

What about you? How are you getting on with ttc?

NoseringGirl · 09/10/2019 20:41

@impatientmammy I haven't with my other kids, partly for that reason, I'd just find it uncomfortable. One of my friends keeps saying I have to have one this time (she also corrects me when I say 'if it happens') so if I do manage to have another, I think there's a chance I'll have an enforced one!
Hope your clinic appointment goes well and the pain improves!

Welcome @Momnishambles and good luck for your TWW! Hope your stay here is a short one, sounds like you've had quite the journey here as it is!

@impatientmammy I hope you are feeling better soon, if you feel like you need to pee constantly it could be a water infection.

@Lilzpk really sorry you have to go through a baby shower at the weekend. They really do suck! I know I couldn't cope with one at the moment so well done for being brave and going to support your family member.

@momnishambles we are on this journey because of chemo too, although it was my husband who had chemo. That's really good news that it hasn't prevented your chanced of ttc, fingers crossed for this cycle and for your IVF

Momnishambles · 09/10/2019 20:59

@impatientmammy I’ve just noticed that I should @ you so you know I’ve replied... #noob

@NoseringGirl hey! Yeah it’s been a bit up and down.. Even now I know for absolute certain I ovulated I can’t really process there is a chance I could be pregnant.

Re baby shower... not a fan. Puts pressure on people invited to buy my gifts which isn’t really fair and could be hard for someone without me being aware.
They seem to be growing in popularity though.

Momnishambles · 09/10/2019 21:02

@Mseddy
Hi! Thanks Grin chemo is a bitch but all fingers crossed it works out for you!

Lilzpk · 09/10/2019 21:04

@impatientmammy.
I won't have a baby shower. It's not something that was around until recently in my area and I just don't really see the purpose. Also knowing how they can affect people just adds to my feeling that it just wouldn't be for me. Where I live they're a controversial event, a lot of people think it's a tacky thing, so embarrassment would be a factor too, if it was something I wanted to do.

impatientmammy · 11/10/2019 20:34

Sorry ladies I keep meaning to reply but I've been busy or tired and I always worry that I'll miss something out. Your friend sounds lovely @NoseringGirl .
I hope you get pregnant before ivf comes around @Momnishambles but if you don't please feel free ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer.
I definitely see where your all coming from regarding babyshowers I didn't have one with my first because we were busy moving. I thought I would next time but seeing how hard attending is for so many I don't think I will.
Went for my treatment consultancy yesterday feeling really good about it then I amazingly found a lovely lady on Instagram today who's using the same clinic starting a few days before. I hope your all doing ok. How's those in the two week wait doing? X

Momnishambles · 12/10/2019 04:59

@impatientmammy Thanks! That’s really kind I know it’s not always a fun thing to talk about I’m here if u need to vent!

My TWW continues, I only got sucked into a googling symptoms wormhole once so I’m chalking that up as a win Halo I’m 10dpo today, but have a test I think I can take tomorrow (it’s a clear blue early one) all I can tell you for sure is i 100% have no idea what I’m doing because I’ve always believed this a bit impossible. Confused

How has your week been?

Momnishambles · 12/10/2019 05:01

Argh @impatientmammy hit post not preview! I’ll start again, how’s has your week been all sounds positive with the clinic! Fingers crossed 😁

impatientmammy · 12/10/2019 16:14

@Momnishambles well done for holding off on google I'm finding my tww easier this time I think believing it's not going to happen might help but I am only 4dpo 😂 x

Momnishambles · 12/10/2019 16:46

@impatientmammy I’ve not been so well behaved!! I took a CB early detection test today which was BFN, seem to get cramps every night so I think I will get AF any minute now. On to the next I guess!

Good that your finding it a bit easier, I will do my best to follow your chilled example Star

impatientmammy · 12/10/2019 17:04

@Momnishambles don't follow my example I'm calm most months until I irrationally dicide I'm pregnant at about 9dpo every single month 😂😂 x

NoseringGirl · 14/10/2019 13:13

@impatientmammy glad the treatment consultancy went well and that you've found someone going through the same process. That must be a brilliant support.

@Momnishambles sorry for the BFN. I hope it was just too early and AF stayed away!

I'm somewhere between 9-11DPO (depending on whether I go by my OPK or temps). I've tested and fairly certain it's BFN but that hasn't stopped me looking at it in different lights and willing there to be a second line. I've had cramps for the last 24 hours so I'm sure AF is on the way. Feeling quite deflated at the moment.

dragonmummy17 · 14/10/2019 14:06

Hi all sorry I've been a bit quiet and on and off the thread lately. I've been getting really fed up, and was at the point of giving up, but then the fertility clinic referral letter came through. I phoned this morning expecting to be told of a long waiting list and instead she said 4th November!! Is it really strange that all of a sudden I feel really panicked?! Anyone know what they might do as we already have a child?
@NoseringGirl hope it isn't AF and she stays away
@Lilzpk sorry you are having a tough time. I hope you are ok after the weekend
@Momnishambles hi! Sorry for the bfn... hopefully AF will stay away.
@impatientmammy glad your appointment went well.
I don't think I would have a baby shower... it's not really my thing anyway as I hate being centre of attention but after this journey I would worry about upsetting someone too

impatientmammy · 14/10/2019 14:52

Do you ovulate regularly @dragonmummy17 I can't remember. If not they might give you clomid / letrozole. Probably not ivf but all areas are so different they would even refer me 🙄
Hopefully your just too early @NoseringGirl 🤞 x

Momnishambles · 14/10/2019 15:02

@NoseringGirl hopefully it’s just to early! Everything crossed for you. I can wholly recommend not googling it. As hard as that is.

@dragonmummy17 hey, glad to hear you got a quick appointment! I was also expecting a long wait and was quite shocked by a December date, I panicked to so let’s just call that normal shall we? 😂 hoping it’s all smooth sailing from here

@impatientmammy yeah... I’m definitely cracking here. Still cramps every night, wild indigestion, no AF still BFN. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Not even sure what to do with that. How is it going for you?

marmitecheesetoast · 14/10/2019 15:06

Hi all, mind if I join you?

Currently half way through the 2ww of cycle 6 ttc no 2. Why is it that the first half of 2ww always seems to pass quite quickly and I can stay relatively calm, but by the time I get to about 7dpo the calmness goes out the window!? I have 32 day cycles too so find it feels a reeeaaally long time before fertile week rolls around each month again.

Anyway I found TTC threads like this one super helpful last time to talk with people who know what’s it’s like so thought I might hop on here if that’s ok.

I hope everyone is ok and managing to stay sane-ish! Need to catch up with the thread properly but sorry to those having to go to baby showers, definitely can be a hard one to face in the circumstances.

Papertigers · 14/10/2019 17:25

Hi all, hope you don’t mind me joining! Loving the commandments on this thread 😂 I’m 30, trying to conceive #1, cycle 11, cycle day 36(!!). Having a proper weird one this month! Normally pretty regular 30-31 day cycles but no signs of AF yet and negative tests all round! I don’t temp and use opks occasionally and try to just listen to my body re. ovulation. Generally ovulate on day 19. Any advice and support would be great - feel like I’m going crazy on my own! X

dragonmummy17 · 15/10/2019 13:04

@impatientmammy yes I think I do ovulate regularly so I'm not sure what they will be able to offer. We can afford a little privately but not IVF so if that's our only option we will have hit a dead end.
@marmitecheesetoast @Papertigers hi! papertigers I just had a cycle like that and just ovulated late. Hopefully in your case you get your bfp soon

NoseringGirl · 15/10/2019 13:13

Welcome new people!

CD1 just arrived for me. I'm completely fucking heartbroken. I work with babies and it arrived while I was at work. I'm on my dinner break and really struggling to keep it together. My temp and heart rate had gone up this morning and I was so full of hope.
