Yammers thread 11!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@impatientmammy my last baseline scan was back in June so I guess that's why they are repeating it. I've given up caffine and alcohol since that scan, because it frightened the life out of me that I might not get many eggs and I wanted to make sure the few I do get are good quality!

@Ree91 we got referred by our gp in early April and our first appointment with the fertility clinic was june. They said we would hear within 8 weeks. I think it all depends on which area you live and how busy the clinics are.

I had a really bad shift at work today, not getting my lunch or a chance to sit down until half 4. I have a really intense job and I think ive realised I'm going to need to take some time off after implantation. I really didn't want to because I don't want to be sat at home thinking about what if it hasn't worked. There are too many decisions to make on this journey!

NoseringGirl · 02/10/2019 20:02

@impatientmammy I've been quite lucky with GPs! Good luck for the SA results, that's good timing!

I got my peak on the OPK today! Very happy about it. Hoping I'll see the temp rise to go with it in the next couple of days.

Cross post @Mseddy sorry to hear you've had a rough time at work. Taking time off doesn't necessarily mean you have to sit around doing too much thinking though. You could always fill the time with fun stuff that keeps you distracted while putting less physical and mental strain on yourself.

@NoseringGirl oh that does sound like a nightmare! Did they ever get round to tell you what the consistent bleeding was? Sounds Horrible! Yay to the opk, get busy Grin

@impatientmammy it's fascinating how everyone has a different journey! I am feeling much better about it today now I've had chance to sleep on it thank You! Fingers crossed for your results next week! What will happen at your treatment consultation do you know?

@Mseddy that's really quick actually! It most definitely must depend on the area, but I'm glad they've signposted me about the long wait instead of false promises! Sounds like an awful day at work, feet up at home and like nosering said something fun which will take your mind off it, an adult colouring book is one of my faves!

I was notified of a promotion coming my way today, so game plan is to focus on that and hopefully it'll take my mind of ttc and I might just get lucky?! A girl can dream eh Smile

NoseringGirl · 02/10/2019 22:07

@Ree91 congrats on the upcoming promotion! Brilliant news!
The consistent bleeding I'd had was put down to the PCOS. It's happened a few times now. It's horrible! Luckily my cycles seem to have evened out again. Hoping it stays that way!

@NoseringGirl Ahh thank you! I'm really excited Grin ugh that sounds awful, af comes often enough as if you need anymore appearances than standard from her! Glad it's settled back to normal now though! What do your cycles average at? Mine are typically 33 days, with a 13 day luteal which seems average i would guess?

NoseringGirl · 03/10/2019 00:22

Mine average around 26-28 days with a 10 day LP when they're ovulatory and regular. I've had anovulatory cycles as long as 98 days though and cycles where I've not ovulated until around CD40. It doesn't seem to take much to knock my hormones out of sync and then it takes ages to get it all back to normal. It's frustrating but I'm getting better at knowing how to balance my hormones at least! TTC has taught me loads about my body!

OP posts:
Ree91 · 03/10/2019 08:07

@noseringgirl a 98 day cycle?! Jeez sounds awful, and here's me hacked off with my 2x 38 day cycles for some unknown reason! At least you're heading in the right direction with it which is good!

impatientmammy · 03/10/2019 12:30

@Ree91 I just had a 28 day and it had me flummoxed 😂😂
What do you do to balance them out @NoseringGir xl

NoseringGirl · 03/10/2019 17:00

@impatientmammy I'm on metformin for my PCOS which helps. I also take a few different supplements. Never sure how much they help but while my cycles are regular I'll keep taking them just in case! I think the main thing that helps me is diet. If I overdo it on the sugar then I really notice the difference.

Feeling rather down today ladies, af due in 3 days but I don't feel any different this cycle as usual! Keep feeling my boobs like a mad woman hoping they're sore Hmm how's everyone's weekends been x

impatientmammy · 06/10/2019 23:38

Sorry to here that @Ree91 😔 I always feel really down just before af too it's def a hormonal thing and ttc makes in 100x worse.
I'm due to ovulate soon so I'm in the easiest part of the month started my clearblue OPKs late in hope I can get some sort of info out of my last 4 sticks x

NoseringGirl · 07/10/2019 00:08

@Ree91 sorry to hear you're feeling down. I think we can all relate to that feeling near the end of a cycle. I hope AF stays away!

@impatientmammy good luck with the OPKs, hopefully you'll get a positive and ovulate soon!

I had a slight temp increase this morning after a couple of post positive OPK dips had me doubting whether I was going to ovulate. Will have to wait a few days and hope my temp continues to rise!

OP posts:
impatientmammy · 07/10/2019 07:46

I got a static this morning @NoseringGirl was only my second stick so if you know your gunna ovulate late you can start the clearblue OPKs later in the month to save some money too. I'm a litle bit worried now as it's a slightly early positive for me and I can't afford for af to come too early 😬 x

impatientmammy · 07/10/2019 07:47

I don't really temp @NoseringGirl but I hope you ovulate soon x

MrsD0147 · 07/10/2019 08:03

Hope I’m ok to jump on this thread -AF appeared in the night but hadn’t had my usual pains, cramps etc so had this niggling feeling this could be it this month. Feel like spending the day in bed with a block of chocolate.
Onto the next one...

impatientmammy · 07/10/2019 08:59

Hope your ok @MrsD0147 x

justbeingelle · 07/10/2019 14:59

So we got referral via GP to the fertility clinic. During initial tests (vaginal ultrasound) they found that I have a large cyst (8 cm). I went back for a further ultrasound 2 weeks later and it was 10cm so I've to get it removed. I've to go for a laparoscopy to have it removed and they'll do the die test at the same time, I presume to check for any other issues. Has anyone else had this? Wondering if that's what's preventing us from conceiving. DH also had his sperm analysis and they've asked him to repeat that, so that's also at the back of our minds too.

Sorry I've not been commenting much, I hope you're all hanging in there 💕

justbeingelle · 07/10/2019 15:00

@MrsD0147 sorry she got you, hope you're ok.

impatientmammy · 09/10/2019 08:00

Morning ladies, I've had an ache all night that I don't normally get the only way I can explain is you know when your on your period and you need a poo and it hurts your uterus area? I went to sleep with a dull ache and it's kind of worse this morning. This isn't an am a pregnant thing because I'm 1dpo I just don't know what's going on. Any ideas? It kind of hurts, I'm not on any meds or extra vits this month x

impatientmammy · 09/10/2019 08:11

@justbeingelle hope your ok I'm pleased they're doing something that could potentially aid your fertility though? X

NoseringGirl · 09/10/2019 12:47

@impatientmammy that doesn't sound very pleasant, hope it eases off soon! Apparently ovulation pain can happen after ovulation has taken place, so might be related?

@justbeingelle I hope the lap and dye goes well! I had a laparoscopy years ago but it was before I was TTC so probably can't be much help. It was all very straight forward though.

@MrsD0147 welcome! Sorry AF got you. Best of luck for this cycle.

I've had increasing temps for the last 4 days. Annoyingly, FF isn't giving me crosshairs but I'm going to be optimistic and call it 4DPO until I know otherwise.

I'm wondering if it's a water infection @NoseringGirl I've never had one before so it's hard to say x

Lilzpk · 09/10/2019 17:05

Looks like no ovulation for me this cycle, I'm on cycle day 39! 3 negative tests just because I had to check. I've no idea where I'm at!! 😓 I'm in with the endocrinologist on Monday, but I know it's just going to be more fobbing off and metformin. We've to go to a baby shower this weekend, and I just feel like getting on a plane and disappearing.

NoseringGirl · 09/10/2019 17:12

@impatientmammy quite possibly! Does it hurt when you wee? Try drinking loads and loads of water over the next day or so and see if it flushes it out. Hope you feel better soon!

@Lilzpk I'm sorry lovely, anovulatory cycles suck and so does having to go to that baby shower. Is there anyway you can get out of it? Good luck with the endocrinologist! What dose of metformin are you on?
