Anyone get a BFP after BFN

I'm approx 9dpo and have been having lots of twinges and pinching on my right side, been very very tired so decided to test today and got a BFN.....

Anyone had this and then gone on to get BFP? Or am I out this month?

Sorry been trying for 9 months and getting restless 🙄

I had two BFN before BFP. Didnt get BFP till my period was 4 days late.

Going to try and hold out til af comes, or doesn't 🤞 I normally don't bother testing early so don't know why this month I've fallen for it 🤦🏻‍♀️😂x

I had a BFN 9DPO and a BFP 10dpo xx

I'm 8 dpo. I sometimes test early but im determined not to this month. Its so hard waiting but im going to wait till Monday or tuesday

Absolutely, 9dpo is so early to get a positive test!

In my first pregnancy I had a BFN at 11dpo and then a BFP at 15dpo. I didn’t test in between though, decided to wait until after period was due.

Stay positive @Cabbiefix! Maybe wait until the weekend and try again? Def not out until AF. When is AF due?

I'm also 8dpo @Trying93, I'm sure. Or potentially 5dpo 🙈 but definitely think it's 8! Cycle 1 so bear with me! When is AF due for you? Mine is next weekend but I have quite a few things on so want to wait until 23rd 😬 if I can!

Yay, that's not long to wait at all @Cabbiefix! I think I ovulated early so I've got ages to wait. AF due weekend after next! Sigh! But now I'm excited for you. What tests have you got for the weekend? FR?

Pretty much exactly the same as @Trying93 - I tested the day my period was due and then 3 days late... both BFNs. It was only when my period was 5 days late and I tested a third time that I got a positive result. In the absence of a period, keep testing every 48 hours is that advice I was given when TTC. Fingers crossed for you!

(And for what it's worth I'm also TTC right now and also due period on Friday/Saturday! I'm not even bothering to test until then as I know it will be negative if I do it now and that will dishearten me).

I had BFN the night before. Only to get BFP the next day. We worked out I hadn’t peed on the stick long enough.

My mum never got a BFP with me. Only her weight gain followed by a scan showed I was there

Yes, here. Tested day before period due (New Year's Eve) with an early test and BFN then a BFP on 2 Jan. I knew I was pregnant though

Ladies this is all really helpful, not that I'm the OP but still so insightful.

And @mummabubs this makes me more determined to wait until AF due (and then some) before I even think about testing. I feel the same - I'm not even tempted because I don't want the too early disheartening - if thats even a word!

I've never tested early @Gigi318, I figure that it's unhelpful as the odds of getting a bfn are high and it won't allow you to have any more certainty as to whether you've been lucky that month! Plus it's so expensive to buy loads of tests. (But that doesn't mean I don't occasionally get wrapped up in thinking about it a lot. With DS we were very lucky and conceived on our first cycle of trying... we're now on our sixth cycle for #2 and my patience is definitely waning a little!) Fingers crossed for you :)

@mummabubs that's reassuring as that's how I feel about testing too early. And it's only 12 days (almost 11) so let's hope I stay sane! I'm confident I will. How old is DS? Sending luck and positivity your way. Where are you in cycle 6? I thought it may take a few months or whatever, but just seeing how things go. I feel healthy and in a good place, and - I don't know - like maybe we've caught. But we shall see!

@Gigi318 If you ovulated early, your period will be due earlier than usual. It’s usually roughly 14 days from ovulation to your period, no matter when you ovulate.

So if you are already 8DPO you only need to wait another 6(ish) days until period is due and to test.

@Gigi318 mines is due between 14th and 16th. I know how you feel im going to a family wedding on 21st

If you dont get BFP dont be too disappointed its only your first cycle, iv lost track of what cycle im on

I've got some cheapo internet tests and also a clear blue but starting to feel like af might be on its way..... Cramps, backache, soreish boobs....

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you though, hopefully next month will be my month 🤞🥰

fell into the trap this month of testing early (yesterday) and got a BFN. Trying to stay hopeful that AF won’t arrive!

@MajorFaffington ahhh, this makes a lot of sense! Thank you!!! I was early last month too, so it sounds like my ovulation is getting earlier! I think I still might wait until 23rd if AF doesn't come as I really don't want to know either way that weekend 🙈 I sound mad!

@Trying93 Yay, that's not too much longer to wait - and a good thing that you're not sure which cycle maybe? As you're not obsessing? Who knows! I don't think I will be too disheartened as we're being quite casual about it atm. We shall see!
