October bus

Raizelrea · 05/09/2019 14:02

Haven't seen an October bus yet so I figured I'd start one as AF showed up today for me.

TTC 1
Cycle 3
Age 31
AF due around 5 October

7 October is my birthday so would not be opposed to a bit of a present in the form of a BFP 😄

Not sure yet if I'll do anything special this cycle other than taking follic acid and DTD, contemplating buying Clear Blue OPKs though I'm hoping to stay as relaxed as possible (completely failed at that last cycle and obsessed about everything so hopefully I got that out of my system...)

@iRawra O I'll have a look for next time I'm that way. I went to Sheffield, lovely place but moved away for work. Sounds like you travel a lot, where are you based now?

We're the same with names and agree boy names are so difficult. I have one I love and DH would bend and go with what I like lol but he think's it's a bit posh. If we mention it to anyone they poo-poo it so am just keeping quiet hehe. It's such an individual choice isn't it :/

@justanothurgirl I hope the moving is going well and sounds like an excellent distraction from TTC!

Hi @Blossomingflower94 sorry you're back but nice to have a little group from September, hoping we get our BFPs in October :)

Fertile window starts at the weekend for me :) but I've got so much on next week I think fitting DTD in is going to be tough!

iRawra · 10/09/2019 20:38

@MrsMeow2019 we are based near Huddersfield at the moment but I work in Leeds and looking to move nearer there, in between Leeds and Wakefield so that when we conceive and have bubba we will be near hubby's family. Mine live down south near Bristol. I love Sheffield :) such a fun city!

I am genuinely not caring what people think of our name choices. They will love them regardless, and if they don't, well then that's their loss 😁

MrsMeow2019 · 10/09/2019 20:49

@iRawra aw I love Leeds! It's so fun and lots to do isn't there. Our families leave around birmingham/coventry so we're around here for thesame reasons. It'll be nice to have the support when there are babies :D

That's a good attitude to have, I'm going to go with that and just keen names away from friends and family until a baby is born (fingers crossed).

KLNM89 · 10/09/2019 20:53

@Raizelrea we met 3 years ago. How did you ladies meet your OH? I'm hoping for some serious romantic stories here, mine was on tinder 🙈

@iRawra I'm sorry to hear you hurt your ankle. At least you have a good excuse to just lie there and let him do the work 😉

There will always be people that don't like name choices, and others that love them. But it's your child, not theirs so that's their issue. My sister in law works for the local registry office and she comes across so crackers! They have had to refuse a couole of names before though

Bstansfield · 10/09/2019 20:55

Can I join please?? :)

Ttc number 2
Cycle day 11
Af due 3rd October

First cycle of trying!
25 next month, conceived first time with number 1, but feel like there's no way it can be so easy next time!

iRawra · 10/09/2019 21:14

@MrsMeow2019 it is a cool city! Not seen too much of it yet as I am working so much and the commute is long. Awww I love Brum. Half my family live there :)

@KLNM89 I added my OH on Facebook when I was 15 as I thought he was someone I knew from school as he was mutual friends with the person I met the guy who actually was from my school through. We soon figured out we didn't actually know each other and he lived on the other side of the world. We chatted a lot and became best friends, and told each other everything. We helped each other through hard times. When he finally visited his family in England after all that time we got to meet in real life and we were both single. I think it was just meant to be. I knew there and then he was the one I wanted to marry and a year later to the day we eloped :) I'd only been living with him 7 months in Australia at that point but we just didn't want to wait a second longer or have to live apart ever again. We moved back to the UK for 3-5 years (one year in) to have Bubba's with family around, train him up in the UK IT sector (Aussies love it apparently) and then we will be moving back down under. It's amazing over there!

How did everyone else meet their OH?

Welcome @Bstansfield :) let's see how lucky you are

MrsMeow2019 · 10/09/2019 21:20

@KLNM89 Happy Anniversary, tinder seems to be the way most people meet , between me and DH our 4 siblings all met their partners online. DH and I met at a party through some mutual friends while looking for love online hehe!

@iRawra that's such a nice story! Clearly meant to be ! I've always wanted to go to Oz, I'm just a little worried about leaving all my family and friends behind and starting again, DH and I were toying with the idea of going before TTC but then decided to TTC :/, maybe one day! It does sound amazing

@Bstansfield welcome

justanothergurl · 10/09/2019 21:26

You've all reminded me that we moved house the month I got pregnant with my little boy so fingers crossed Wink

We found boys names easy. Girls names are hard! DH and I have very different taste. We haven't discussed any ideas for this time around as it's very early days. But I don't want to find out what we're having when the time comes, which may make things difficult! What does everyone else think about that? Would you find out?

justanothergurl · 10/09/2019 21:29

@KLNM89 DH and I met in school. Our maths teacher seated us all boy/girl because the class was misbehaving and I immediately developed a crush on him! Never had another boyfriend. We've been together on and off for over 13 years, married for nearly 3.

Tinder seems to be the way forward now. I wouldn't know what to do with it though!

KLNM89 · 10/09/2019 21:37

These are the stories I'm after, I love a good love story. I don't think our paths would have crossed any other way as we were living an hour away from each other. I'm a believer in fate though so I guess if online dating wasn't around we would have met another way.

Maybe we all need to sell up and move house!

katiem3 · 10/09/2019 21:39

Hello all you lovelies!

Just been reading back all your comments. I guess one of the positives to the school year starting again is how busy and occupied it keeps me! I am now 5 days late according to my apps yet still negative pregnancy tests!

I must remember to make a GP appointment this week regarding the letter I received to make one about my blood results - I guess I've still been putting that off!

Frustratingly waiting for AF now so I can give Husband dates he needs to ensure he's around! Grin

How are you all? Keeping my fingers crossed and sending positive thoughts to you all!!

K x

Mrsw1992 · 10/09/2019 22:47

Hi all, this is my first time on Mumsnet.
TTC #1
First cycle
CD 2
AF due 6th Oct

I have a micro prolactinoma and take cabergoline once a week to help regulate my cycle. This has been a huge diagnosis for me and have had lots of blood tests and MRI etc over the last year and a half with the stress that I could have been infertile if it wasn’t treated so I’m so so thankful I got it checked out!

Really hoping that now my cycles are beginning to get regular that I can get pregnant Smile

Looking forward to going through this exciting journey with you all!
Good luck and best wishes!

Bstansfield · 10/09/2019 23:21

@KLNM89 me and my husband met at a joint work Christmas party when I was 17, that was nearly 8 years ago now! Smitten ever since :)
@Mrsw1992 thank God you got checked out! Lots of luck to you!!

Raizelrea · 11/09/2019 07:21

@iRawra OH's family is British but my family are Czech, a lot of names do exist in both but are pronounced completely differently. Wow that's quite the story how you met your OH while you lived half across the world, definitely meant to be ☺️

@KLNM89 We've been together for 6 years but not exactly an inspiring love story, we just met at a work night out. I think it's what happens after you meet that matters ☺️

@katiem3 Maybe you ovulated later this cycle, or have you been under a lot of stress lately? My period came a week late when I was getting married most likely because of the pre-wedding nerves (specifically it came on my wedding day haha)

@MrsW1992 That sounds intense but great that it's been caught early and getting treated for you! Fingers crossed your TTC journey goes smoothly now!

Mrsw1992 · 11/09/2019 16:04

Thank you @Raizelrea 👍🏻😊

Last months cycle was 32 days where as I’d been averaging at 26days before I started taking Seven Seas “trying for a baby” vitamins... did anyone else have this problem? I’ve bought ovulation sticks to try this month so I can nail this baby making thing haha! (I keep thinking positively like this!!)
Like some of you have said, it’d be so nice to tell relatives and friends at xmas! I’ve already saved ideas on Pinterest and Etsy 🤣

Raizelrea · 11/09/2019 17:37

@Mrsw1992 Yes I think it's quite common for prenatal supplements to make your cycles longer, I don't have first hand experience with Seven seas but I took Pregnacare and had a similar experience, now that I'm off them I my last cycle was 29 days rather than 31-32. Haven't been off them for long enough to see if that will be a patern for all cycles now but attempting a bit of a less-is-more type of approach at the moment (only taking folic acid).

Hey girls,

Hope you don't mind me jumping on this one 🙋‍♀️ new to posting on MN, but lurking for a V long time 😅

I'm 25
TTC #1
Cycle 6
Cycle day 1 🙄 (the bittersweetness of a fresh start but no sticky bean)

Came off the pill in March, regular cycles 27-28 days (luckily!) but very very light periods that only last a few days, not sure this is an issue yet?

Not using OPK's, just hoping every other day will work as I will get way too obsessed but I'm thinking about it just to be sure I'm ovulating!

Fingers crossed for us all 🥰 x

Raizelrea · 11/09/2019 20:34

@Izzie94 I already said hello on the other thread but welcome here as well ☺️ Hope October will be lucky for you!

GoldLeafTree · 11/09/2019 20:39

Hello everyone!

TTC #1
Cycle 2
AF due 5th October

I'm going to be trying SMEP this month and trying to not be so anxious and obsessive during TTW and ban myself from watching pregnancy announcements on YouTube!

I was convinced I was PG this month but it turns out the cramps were appendicitis!

Raizelrea · 11/09/2019 21:37

Hi @GoldLeafTree and welcome! Have you recovered from your appendicitis? What a nightmare!

I know, the Youtube pregnancy videos are pretty addictive and there's thousands! I like the live testing ones 😄

Good luck on your journey, I loosely do SMEP though not exactly, just going with every other day or more if we feel like it!

OP posts:
Bstansfield · 11/09/2019 23:23

@GoldLeafTree oh my God appendicitis?! Are you recovering from surgery?

Doubl · 12/09/2019 08:30

Hi all, jumping on!

TTC#2
Cycle 2 technically
AF due 3rd Oct
CD 8

Officially now trying for baby number 2! I'm going to give opks a whirl as my first was quickly conceived, I'm not sure I could handle finding it difficult a second time 🤪

All those horror stories in high school promised that pregnancy was as easy as looking at a penis!

Raizelrea · 12/09/2019 21:42

@Doubl Welcome! I'm on CD 8 as well, with AF due around 5 October so sounds like we have a similar cycle! That's great that your first came along quickly, definitely gives you a bit of positive reassurance for the second time around! I'm TTC #1 so everything's a big unknown!

OP posts:
Doubl · 13/09/2019 09:18

@Raizelrea fingers crossed we both get our BFP's early Oct then Grin esp yours for your birthday, that would be lovely!
I'm hoping that's the case, I need to start thinking positively about that!!
How is it going so far for you?

omikron · 13/09/2019 09:47

Hi. I'm back.

TTC #2
Cycle 5!
