October bus

Raizelrea · 05/09/2019 14:02

Haven't seen an October bus yet so I figured I'd start one as AF showed up today for me.

TTC 1
Cycle 3
Age 31
AF due around 5 October

7 October is my birthday so would not be opposed to a bit of a present in the form of a BFP 😄

Not sure yet if I'll do anything special this cycle other than taking follic acid and DTD, contemplating buying Clear Blue OPKs though I'm hoping to stay as relaxed as possible (completely failed at that last cycle and obsessed about everything so hopefully I got that out of my system...)

@MrsMeow2019 baby activities are so lovely but also so heart-wrenching at the same time. Any chance you would be able to have a romantic get away anywhere? Nice meals, travelling and culture always distract me.

I work 5 days a week and it's 12 hours out the house a day (leave at 7, get back at 7.) Got DPs auntie and uncle staying over next weekend, looking at moving house. Then weekend after is my birthday! Bit random, but we are off to Riga for a trip for it to distract ourselves. Weekend after is my stepmums surprise 50th in my hometown! Busy month!

What are you all up to?

katiem3 · 07/09/2019 22:43

@MrsMeow2019

I’m a reception class teacher with 30 new 4 year olds to keep me busy during the week. Always need volunteers to help out especially this first term ;p

On a serious note I can imagine having your nephew and your friends new little one drives you up the wall! I’ve recently gained a new little niece and my goodness my ovaries!

Non-baby activities...well I’m hoping because it’s still September we may have a few more nice days of sunshine! Anywhere good for some lovely reservoir walks near you? Clears the head and can only help with conception!

K x

iRawra · 07/09/2019 22:44

@katiem3 I very much hope so. I'm hoping preseed will be our friend. We are already planning names. Think hubby is getting more and more keen as the months go on, which makes my heart burst.

How are everyone's DPs coping?

MrsMeow2019 · 07/09/2019 22:46

@iRawra that is a busy month! Good suggestions, we have a week off in October and planning a get away to London and some general chill time.

Eep those are long days, I do the same but travel isn't far for me which is nice.

We went to Riga a couple of years ago, it's really nice, great parks to go a walk in and the skyline bar at the Radisson Blu is amazing, get there before sunset and you can sit next the window and watch Riga from day to night! www.skylinebar.lv/

katiem3 · 07/09/2019 22:48

@iRawra regarding the preseed sorry I’ve not got much knowledge on that but I’m hoping it works for you! Got my fingers crossed!

My husband works away a lot which is frustrating as more often than not falls during my fertile window which is why I find these groups so helpful - no one else really to talk to as parents don’t live in the country.

How about yours?

K x

MrsMeow2019 · 07/09/2019 22:50

@katiem3 I bet that keeps you busy! Aww congratulations on your niece :), it's so nice having them isn't it. I love it and find it exhausting at the same time, does make me wonder how I'd cope with one 24/7 !

There are some nice walks near us, getting DP on board might be tricky lol, he likes to go for meals or to the movies, might try and get a few date nights in as those are things we won't be doing when there's a little one lol!

iRawra · 07/09/2019 22:51

@MrsMeow2019 thanks for the recommendation! Did you go to the food market in the old zeppelin hangers? It looks great! Glad you'll be able to keep busy too! London is great! I miss living there. We are up in Yorkshire now so lots of lovely walks. Have you been to Greenwich?

@katiem3 awww no, thats very frustrating. You must get so impatient. I'd not be able to deal with that haha. you're a strong lass! I don't talk to my dad that much and I'll tell my mum once we conceive. Don't want to worry her that something could be wrong. She's a massive worrier and tries to hide it.

We are off to bed now. I'll catch you ladies in the morning :)

MrsMeow2019 · 07/09/2019 22:54

@iRawra we have preseed too but sort of using it more as a lubricant than following the directions.

@katiem3 That must be tough having your DP work away, can you plan for him to be home during the fertile window? My DP is very chilled, enjoying the extra DTD lol. I did feel bad for him when it was a BFN in September but he said he wasn't surprised as thought I'd stressed too much doing the OPKs ! So I'm being chilled this month and we'll see, this one time I'd like him to be right (but he can never know that lol).

Raizelrea · 08/09/2019 07:07

Hello to all the new ladies! Sounds like we have a great great group going and similar cycle dates! Also a lot of birthdays coming up, all these September and October birthdays make me wonder if maybe January and February are the most fruitful time for TTC haha!

I'm just on my way back from a week long holiday attending weddings abroad so more holidaying won't be an option distraction-wise. Would like to get back into running more before the weather spoils completely, maybe sign up for a race in November so that I have something to aim towards!

Oops far too many greats in my last post 😅

MrsMeow2019 · 08/09/2019 09:52

@iRawra no we didn’t make it to the markets but I did hear good things :-). Hope you have a fab time! Love Yorkshire I went to uni up there but am now midlands based. No I’ve never been to Greenwich - would you recommend ? I’m keen to see the lion king as haven’t before so think we’ll do that.

@Raizelrea how was your holiday / weddings ? True the weather will change soon, it’s been quite cold here this week. I love autumn though and was super pleased to get my tights out yesterday 😆

Raizelrea · 08/09/2019 11:00

@MrsMeow2019 It was fantastic thank you! Definitely overindulged in the last few days, Austrian food is far too good 😄 The healhy lifestyle starts tomorrow haha! Slightly dreading the return back to work on Monday, it's nice that you've got your October break to look forward to! I do like autumn as well, the colours are the prettiest ☺️

@katiem3 Hiking is a good shout, it really does help with stress and boosts those happy vibes! We walked most of Hadrian's wall a couple years back which I loved, maybe we should get back into it!

@iRawra I thought it was just me thinking about named far too early 😄 That's cute that your OH is just as into it, I've tried asking mine about names he likes but never get a straight answer out of him - he thinks I'm getting too ahead of myself 😄 I do know which names he dislikes though so I have a feeling it may be tricky when we do need to agree on a name down the line haha

Hi Ladies,

I'm jumping on...
TTC 1
Cycle 2
CD1
AF due somewhere around 1st to 8th October

So last cycle was the first 'real' cycle after coming off depo. I've been quite realistic that i didn't expect it to happen so quickly but still a tiny bit disappointed that AF arrived. Also feel that my cycles haven't settled down just yet as my first was 22 days so it's hard to plan ahead and each app seems to be different.

Currently just tracking with apps and symptom watching but it's quite interesting seeing how my body is doing it's job and understanding why. Also trying not to get too caught up with it all.

Like many of you, I would love to tell my family at Christmas. It would be my parents first grandchild, I would love to give them a Christmas card that says merry Christmas Nanny and grandad! 🎅🤶

MrsMeow2019 · 08/09/2019 15:31

@KLNM89 Welcome :D, I'm cycle 2 as well. It's insane how wrapped up you get in it so quickly isn't it! I've been trying to make a conscious effort to think about it less, which I think is easier this was as the fertile window is a way off. I'm sure I'll become a nutcase again in 2 weeks time hehe!

Love your idea of an xmas card that's really sweet :). A friend of mine did that last year and filmed their parents reaction, it was really lovely

iRawra · 08/09/2019 16:42

@Raizelrea he's so excited. It's so cute. My mum has been nagging for ages too as my big sister is 45 so my niece and nephew are 21 and 15! She needs some new Bubba's to coo over. Hubby is a trizygotic triplet and my mum is a monozygotic twin so statistically there is no extra chance of me having multiples really, but people keep joking we are going to have quintuplets 😂

@MrsMeow2019 Greenwich is so cute! It's a day out in itself. The park and uni campus are amazing (but I'm a bit biased). Where did you go to uni? I want to go back to uni when we move back to Aus to do my master's, but that'll be a while off :)

@KLNM89 welcome :) you up to much to keep busy this month? I'd say it'll take some time for periods to regulate. It's taken me a year and they are still between 34-36 days now, but at least I can expect it to arrive now so have some normality. I don't know too much about Depo as I was on the combined pill for 10 years on and off. I've lived in a lot of countries so used a lot of different pills. I don't think it helped the regulation when fully coming off at all. Talking here has helped me know how normal it is for it to do that to you though, so I'm stressing less :)

I wonder if any of us will catch this month!! I've just ordered some preseed lube. Excited to try it as I love lube lol!

KLNM89 · 08/09/2019 18:07

Last month I felt more stressed out in the first two weeks rather than the TWW (or one as it turned out to be) I think I realised that we had probably missed my peak days so I stopped stressing about when to DTD and what symptom meant I was ovulating when etc.

Not a massive amount on this month, although work is crazy busy so that should keep me preoccupied. It's our anniversary later in the month, and one of my predicted ovulation days falls at the same time which will be nice.

Raizelrea · 09/09/2019 17:42

@KLNM89 Welcome! How nice that it's your anniversary coming up, how long have you and your OH been together for?

I think I got more stressed/insane in the TWW last cycle, I'm ridiculous when it comes to psychosomatic stuff so I was convinced I had a bazillion symptoms. Going to disregard that completely this month I think, at least that's the plan haha!

@iRawra Aww how nice, are you guys agreeing on names you like so far? I'm sure you will end up picking something else by the time the baby's here but it's good to know if you have similar taste ☺️

Ah I know I'm an only child so all the grandbabies are on me, my parents haven't been pressuring me as they had a tough journey with TTC but I know they'd love one!

justanothergurl · 09/09/2019 21:25

Does anyone else get bored at this point in their cycle? It's like knowing that any BDing won't be helpful unless it's your FW, and so long until the 2ww even begins. We are moving house right over my FW this month so may miss it too :/

Raizelrea · 10/09/2019 08:37

@justanothergurl I think moving house is actually a perfect distraction as you won't overfocus on TTC so it may help! Just think of all the people on Grand Designs and Location Location Location that always get pregnant as soon as they move 😄

OP posts:
iRawra · 10/09/2019 14:14

@Raizelrea we love the name Miranda for a girl. And Elizabeth. I find boy's names harder! We like the same names though which is awesome :) I sprained my foot yesterday so I'm home with crutches :(

@justanothergurl I agree that moving house will probably distract your mind and might actually help you conceive :)

Blossomingflower94 · 10/09/2019 17:32

Hello!

Figured I'd also jump across onto here from the September bus.

Know quite a few of you from last month.

Heres to a BFP filled 30 days!

Raizelrea · 10/09/2019 17:43

@iRawra I agree boy names are much harder! We'll have the added challenge of thinking of names which work internationally as I'd like something that will be easy to digest for both sets of grandparents haha

Oh no, sorry to hear about your foot! Hope it will heal quickly Flowers

@Blossomingflower94 Hello again! ☺️ When is your AF/BFP due? I figured you may still catch end of September but if not welcome to the October team! 😄

OP posts:
Blossomingflower94 · 10/09/2019 20:28

1st October for me. Was hoping for another shot at September but we shall see!

iRawra · 10/09/2019 20:30

@Raizelrea thanks for the wishes. I am going to drag myself to work on my crutches. Still managing to DTD (and enjoy it) which is good ;) where are yours and OH family from? Hubby is Aussie and English and I'm just English, but I've lived in Amsterdam and down under so I like all sorts of things. There's some interesting Aussie names and some very whimsical Dutch boy names.

@Blossomingflower94 sorry you've had to jump over to October, but welcome. When is AF/BFP? :)

iRawra · 10/09/2019 20:32

@Blossomingflower94 just seen your 1st October post! Sorry!
