toytownmum.........not spoke to you before....but wishing the best of luck....gosh that AF has got alot to answer for!!!!!!

How long have you been TTC??

toytownmum · 04/08/2007 19:58

Only two months ttc with dc3 BUT DS1 was born to IVF and I fell for DS2 naturally when DS1 was 5 mths. Having TTC DS1 for 6 yrs before trying IVF, DS2 was as unplanned as they come, however have no confidence that it will happen this time.

How about you??

hi ladies, can i join you? i'm new here! been trying to conceive for 8 months now. My OPK hasn't picked up any ovualtion for 3 months, just waiting for day 21 and day 3 tests to come back, kind of know something is wrong periods are all over the place too! hoping it's something drugs can kick start. Husband is little use and insists it'll happen when it happens... getting to the point where I feel he rolls his eyes if I mention it (probably being massively unfair to him - he's a really lovely bloke!) on cd 5 and tests should be back by the end of the week? feeling very weepy and flying off the handle all the time, I know I need to calm down so off to see a hypnotherapist on Thursday to see if that helps. If (when!) the tests come back the doctor is going to refer me to sub fertility clinic - anyone have any ideas how long I'll probably have to wait (I live in SW London) I'm kind of thinking we'll pay to speed things up - anyone reccommend a clinic in london worth getting a referal to?
TTM sorry AF has arrived - best of luck for September
Tempi - hello to you.

Are you trying to conceive DC1?

OP posts:
mowmi · 05/08/2007 21:06

yep, we're trying for our first. just feel really gloomy about it all really - don't even have the results yet!
need to get a grip before DH drops me on my head!
wow, you were trying for 6 years for your first - that must have been tough? what's your plan this time? how long will you wait before you go and get help? sorry if I'm being too nosy!

toytownmum · 05/08/2007 21:17

Hi

No your not being to nosy.Thats what MN is for.

We have got 7 frozen embryos and have just had a letter to say that our 5 years original storage runs out july 08. We then have the choice to extend the storage time a year at a time, donate them to another couple, donate them to research or let them be thawed out and perish. For now we have decided to see what happens naturally with TTC(although personally not holding much hope) I suppose as/if we get closer to next July we have to cross that bridge then.

Hi ladies

Don't really know if I should be on this thread or the August one still. I guess I'd describe my situation as somewhere between the 2 of you, TTM and mowmi. I've got a 17mo dd who took just over 3 yrs to conceive - without intervention. This time, however, I've had tests and been diagnosed with PCOS so I've got a course of Clomid to make me ovulate. I have just finished a course of Provera which will make me have a period then I have to take the Clomid on days 2-6 of that period. So, my period should be here about next weekend and I should ovulate sometime after that. So I guess I'll be looking for a bfp at the end of the month...

Mowmi - good luck with your tests. I'm sorry your dh is being a bit awkward. Mine refused point blank to have any tests which is why dd took so long. Fortunately, this time, because we have dd, they didn't need to test him. I'm afraid that they may insist on testing yours before progressing with any treatment - just to be sure.

TTM - Sorry to hear of your previous troubles. Hope this time goes more smoothly for you.

Think I'll post on this thread and the August one, until it gets too quiet over there to bother

josey · 05/08/2007 22:57

Hi wondered if i could join in. havent started ttc as such, though we have decided to try for dc3 so have come off the pill and just had AF. DH works away alot, with dc 2 the doc gave me tablets to swing my cycle as was having AF when DH was on his 2 weeks home which wasnt much use. He has changed jobs now and there is no pattern to him being home if that makes sense. Anyway hoping for a flash in the pan result as he is due home soon
hope you dont mind me posting when I havent really kick started im just a bit excited and would like to chat

Hi can I join too, have just had second mc (5wks) started day after bfp! First was in March and as you can tell already have one wee boy soon to be not so wee as turning 3 in Sept.
Still quietly optimistic, first mc was due to abnormalities discovered on examination of tissue and second I just knew somehow it wasn't going to be ok...yet feel that our time will come when it is right...
sorry for waffling and fingers crossed for all

lulu1414 · 08/08/2007 09:21

Hello TTC buddies. Can I join? I've been lurking on the clomid thread, but thought I would throw in my hat here. I am TTC #1, but had a miscarriage in Oct at 13 wks. Still reeling from that after these manhy months. After no AF for 6 months was FINALLY sent to a consultant. Was diagnosed with Asherman's (scarring) by one and PCO by another. I decided to stick with second specialist and was put on clomid for 6 months. Thought that would sort me out, but it hasn't. I'm now on my 5th clomid cycle (CD3) and desperate for a BFP. It's been a long year...
Good luck to all. Here's to a sunnier September all round.
Ps any advice on how not to obsess would be greatly appreciated! Also any thoughts about what people are/ aren't doing would be of interest.

glad your acupuncture went well anniemac

sorry to hear about your MC's justone and lulu, really hope we will have good outcomes.

Ive never got that stressed over it my only problem is wanting to test test test I have always had 5 week cycles but i still convince myself that they are only 4 my last bfp i forced myself to wait and realised on xmas day that i was past my 5 weeks and couldnt get my hands on a test.

even though have 5 week cycles the 14 day rule seems to still apply to me and both dcs have been born on edd which is a bit odd.

Anyway still waiting for DH to come home so here is to lots of nookie over the weekend which will be about the right time.

sorry ive gone off on a waffle

tigerschick · 08/08/2007 14:14

Hi all

Sorry to hear of m/cs lulu and justone. Hope you have better luck very soon.

lulu - I'm a fellow Clomidifier, tho I have yet to start my first course. Just finished Provera so waiting for period to turn up then I can start the Clomid. Do you know about how long it takes between taking Clomid and ovulating?

josey - lol at not being able to get a test - I tested at 5.30 on a Sunday with dd. Had to wait until next morning before I could go and get another test - yes, I was one of the people queued up outside Boots at five to nine!! Good luck for the weekend

Hope everyone is well and happy

digitalgirl · 08/08/2007 16:02

Hi all,

Have been lurking on MN for about a month now, and now a TTC for Sep thread has started I feel I can officially join in!
TTC our first, DH has promised we can start next month (even though I want to start NOW!). To be fair, I originally asked if we could start in December, then it moved to October. Have convinced to bring it forward to September - hooray!

AF due 28th onwards (30-35 day cycle).

Have already stopped boozing, after an 18 month binge. Would ideally like to lose half a stone now to make it easy post-pg.

Any other tips?

dg x

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 08/08/2007 16:16

right well August is a no go DH didnt feel well on the right days so have no hope so roll on September! am due AF on 24th this month then its full steam a head again!

digitalgirl · 08/08/2007 16:49

fingers crossed for next time, littlesoldiersmummy! doesn't august seem like the longest month now? don't want to wish the summer away...

lulu1414 · 08/08/2007 17:17

What summer! Actually, with sun shining can't really complain.

Tiger- good luck with the clomid I see you have also been on the clomid thread which I think is full of info. I was told that you should expect to OV 5-9 days after taking the last pill. I take the pills CD2-CD6 and so expect to OV CD11-CD15. I guess it may depend a bit on when in your cycle you take the pills.

tigerschick · 08/08/2007 18:42

lulu - thanks, I am taking CLomid for PCOS too, so I'm on the CD2-6 regime as well. Fingers crossed for us all

goingfor3 · 08/08/2007 19:14

Hello ladies,

I'm comming to join you. I had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago at 16 weeks and am hoping to get pregnant again soon. I have no idea how long it will take my body to get back into a normal cycle so although I'm on CD15 I doubt I will get prenant this month so will stick to this thread. The first three times I got pregnant it happened straigh away but last time it took five months so I'm not expecting it to happen to quickly this time either and hoping not to get too obsessional about ttc.

Good luck to all of you.

Livvigirl · 08/08/2007 19:31

HI, just wondered if anyone had any experience after ahving the Marina coil removed, i had mine reomced 2 months ago, and only had 1 period, and that was 7 weeks ago!!

tigerschick · 09/08/2007 07:51

Hi livvigirl - Scorpio1 had a Mirena removed 6 months ago and got her bfp last week. I know her cycles were quite long - about 40 days for a little while then shortened to around 30 days. I'll see if I can get her to post on here with more info

Goingfor3 - So sorry to hear of you mc. Hopeyou have a lot more luck very soon

Hope everyone else is OK.

scorpio1 · 09/08/2007 08:16

Livvigirl, Hi

I had a mirena removed on the 3rd Feb this year. These were my following cycles

Withdrawal bleed
28
13
41
43
34
BFP at cd32.

Personally, i think what you're experiencing is the coil settling-if you see my cycles they were never similar. the 2 long cycles happened one prob because of exam stress and the other because of serious antibiotic use!

Check your cm-i found mine was very progesteroney-thick, white, tacky for alot of the cycle time. When its ewcm, you are good to go!

I relaxd alot, after the first few cycles. i began to worry i was infertile, but about the 43 day cycle, my periods returned to before, very heavy, long, etc. watch out for a 'normal' return for you, too.

My cycles before coil were 30 days-i never got there!

Good Luck and post here again with any questions for me, i will find them!

{Hi Tiger Hope you well x }
