Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

@goodnightsugarpop how's the pregnancy going?

goodnightsugarpop · 06/08/2019 21:20

ok thank you @Wearenotyourkind

been feeling really tired all the time for the last week & a bit nauseous the last couple of days but I'm off work for the summer so I've just been staying at home and having a lot of naps :)

emotionally I'm a bit all over the place, one minute so happy then the mood swings & anxiety kick in. Trying to stay calm & distract myself but it's hard to think about anything except pregnancy and babies!

Wearenotyourkind · 07/08/2019 07:00

@goodnightsugarpop I can only imagine that's all normal! Lots of naps sound like a good idea!

mojitoextrarum · 07/08/2019 11:13

Thanks for the welcome everyone Smile

goodnight, thanks for all that. Shall definitely be buying some preseed.

Regarding vitamins/supplements, how long should I start taking them before we actually start trying? I hear that 3 months is a good amount of time, as that's how long it takes to produce new eggs.

I was going to start taking folic acid, vit c, magnesium and Ubiquinol, but I have to say, I'm getting impatient now Grin and really want to get the ball rolling. Plus, I've just gone over the hill at 35 Confused in terms of the best fertility years. Depressing.

I currently take iron tablets, as I become anaemic otherwise (heavy periods) so am wondering if this is safe to keep taking. I'll obviously have a chat with my GP.

This thread is seriously so fantastic. So many positive stories. Really glad I found you all Smile

🤞🤞🍀🍀🍀🍀 For all who are still trying.

Wearenotyourkind · 07/08/2019 11:59

🤞🏻for you too, @mojitoextrarum !

I would definitely discuss the tablets with either a pharmacist or GP, just to make sure all okay with the iron tablets.

It's so nice to have people to share all this with 😊

Absa · 09/08/2019 06:51

I've just entered my 2WW on my second cycle so will wait to see what's in store for me .... AF or BFP 🤞!

mojitoextrarum · 09/08/2019 08:44

Absa, sending loads of positive vibes your way 🤞

mojitoextrarum · 09/08/2019 08:45

Wearenot, it really is Smile

TurquoiseKiss · 09/08/2019 10:25

Hi all, good to check back in with the TTC Team (and some newly pregnant members!).

I guess I'm only half trying, which wasn't really my intention but I just can't bring us to get on board with being organised with DTD at prime times. I'm also terrible at doing the OPKs consistently to try and catch the peak. We go on holiday for 2 weeks next month, and I'll be in fertile window then - so seeking comfort in knowing DTD at the 'right times' then will be easier and more relaxed as we won't have work and our own social lives getting in the way!

Absa you and I are on almost the same schedule - good luck to you for this month! Did you DTD as much as you would like? According to my app ovulation is happening tomorrow, but on Tuesday night I had lower back ache and Wednesday night I had the familiar ovary jabbing pain/bloated feeling, so its probably earlier. DH was on a night out on Wednesday, I was still awake when he came home but he was half cut and I felt no desire at all! We DTD last night, albeit around midnight - probably too late after symptoms to catch this month's egg.

In other news I've stopped taking the Seven Seas pre-conception vitamins to see if my cycle length goes back to its normal (longer) self. I'm now on (all Boots own brand): Folic Acid & Vitamin D (only £1 for 60!), Iron & Vitamin C, and Vitamin B6.

Welcome mojitoextrarum ! Regarding vitamins, yes I've heard similar that 3 months before is the optimal time before TTC. I started pre-conception vitamins 4 weeks before we stopped all contraception, can't say for definite if its linked but once I was on them I went from having a clockwork 27/28 day cycle to a 20/21 day cycle - so yesterday I stopped taking them (see above paragraph). Same as you, I've always needed an iron supplement, for me its fatigue that gets me otherwise. Definitely keep your iron supplements up, one of my friends had a complicated delivery with haemorrhages - the medical team told her she avoided a blood transfusion most likely because she took a high strength iron supplement before, and the whole way through, the pregnancy.

Have a fun weekend all!

Hi to all you lovely newbies, welcome aboard!! @TurquoiseKiss, hopefully the change in vitamins will help your cycle return to normal. 20/21 days seems quite short so hopefully you will be back like clockwork again soon. @Absa I am also in the tww. Trying not too sympton spot this time round but its so hard. My brain has already sensed and convinced itself of (completely impossible as Im only 3dpo) pregnancy symptons before my mouth has the chance to tell me to wise up. Its gonna be a long two weeks.

Absa · 09/08/2019 13:01

@Bettyblue1 yes I'm going to try hard to ignore possible symptoms. DH and I haven't DTD as much as I'd like around ovulation time but there's always that glimmer of hope.
Good thing is I'm exhausted at the moment / have been the last few weeks due to work so at least that won't be a "new" symptom for me in the next few days!
Let's just keep 🤞 for each other and try to ignore everything else for a few weeks :)

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 09/08/2019 21:50

Nice to hear updates from you guys. I am in the 2ww but been so busy with the kids I haven’t had time to think about it. Now it is dawning on me I could find out I am pregnant in like a week and I am freaking out a little. I had hyperemesis with number 2 which was horrendous, and awful births. This is why we have debated this one for a year and on top of that worry there’s now our age and the gap between the kids to worry about! But then I probably won’t be and then I’ll be disappointed! I think I’m just going to keep busy and not think about it too much. No symptoms yet!

Han1213 · 10/08/2019 09:24

Fingers crossed for the wait. Good luck!
Still no stupid period here. X

Wearenotyourkind · 10/08/2019 09:55

@Han1213 no stupid period here either! 😭

Wearenotyourkind · 10/08/2019 10:10

Just spoke to my friend about it who had her baby earlier this year - she said it took about 3 months for first period after coming off cerazette. I clearly need to be more patient!

Han1213 · 10/08/2019 10:19

Patience is not a strong point here either 😂

Blossomingflower94 · 11/08/2019 08:03

HI all ... Please can I join?

25yo and TTC baby number 1 starting this month. Currently CD3 and just ordered some OPK from amazon (thanks for the advice!).

Has anyone tried the sperm meets egg plan? I was reading through some other threads and it gets mentioned a lot!

Congrats all those on their BFP! Sending best wishes to all those in their TWW

mojitoextrarum · 11/08/2019 12:23

Hi Blossoming Smile I'm new here myself, but welcome!

I got my first flashing smiley on my ovulation test today and couldn't help but fantasise that it was a pregnancy test Blush Long way to go yet. Long way to go.

mojitoextrarum · 11/08/2019 12:54

Turquoise, thanks. I hear a lot that theses pre pregnancy vitamins massively mess up your cycle. Seems to make more sense to take the vitamins separately.

I had quite a heavy weekend 🤕 so much so, that looking at my username is actually making me feel queasy lol. On the subject of alcohol, anyone cut it out completely when getting themselves 'pregnancy ready'? I love a couple of glasses at the weekend and will obviously say goodbye to it altogether when pregnant 🤞 but I don't know.... Should I feel guilty or overly worried about the odd blow out over the next few months? I have a few events coming up and don't know whether to just avoid them tbh.

Han1213 · 11/08/2019 14:13

@mojitoextrarum due to a range of social events and an all inclusive holiday, my BF and I have drank a ridiculous amount the last few weeks! Definitely haven’t been on a detox trying to prepare! X

Wearenotyourkind · 11/08/2019 14:13

Welcome @Blossomingflower94 nice to have you with us.

@mojitoextrarum Sorry to hear about feeling a bit delicate today! Hope you had fun though? I think it's important to enjoy yourself on this TTC journey, otherwise we are at risk of becoming obsessed and miserable.

Absa · 11/08/2019 16:37

@mojitoextrarum luckily for me your name doesn't do it for me! Margaritas all the way for me! Haha! I haven't cut it out yet, but obviously will when I get a BFP 🤞. But for now I'm just acting as normal.

Wearenotyourkind · 11/08/2019 17:59

Question for all you ladies - is anyone on an medication that will have to stop taking when pregnant?

Mim21 · 11/08/2019 21:02

Hello,

Sorry I'm strictly not a July ttc but we started early this month, i've read through all your stories so hope you don't mind if I join, congratulations those with positives so far! Smile

I'm 32, been off the pill for about 4 years now (after being on it solidly for 10 years) have fairly regular cycles, usually about 29 days and often feel pains on one side mid month which i'm hoping means ovulation. I'm currently 3/4 DPO based on the pains I had. Been taking the seven seas tablets for a month and a bit and got the Fella on the wellman conception so we'll see where that gets us.

Good luck everyone look forward to seeing everyones progress! Star

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 11/08/2019 21:38

Welcome newbies! Well I am absolutely full of cold I’m wondering if that could be a sign?! Or maybe just a cold? 🤣
