Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

@Nicecupofcoco realised we didn’t welcome you. How are you doing? Was it a chemical in the end? Also wondering about you @Ellsbells112?

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 30/08/2019 08:02

And did you ever get a positive OPK @Wearenotyourkind?

Wearenotyourkind · 30/08/2019 08:12

@Wakemeupwithcoffee nope! Will keep testing though to see if it comes. Trying not to stress about it though and just go with the flow and DTD regularly. Which OPKs did you get? I have the One Step ones and you also have to pee in a container. I think it's the same for most of the cheap ones. I bought a proper urine sample pot from eBay!

PrincessConsuela12 · 30/08/2019 08:48

@Wakemeupwithcoffee Good job! I always had plans to DTD in the mornings but it didn't really happen. I have 5 alarms in the morning and always snooze 🙈

I think we'll have to book privately, I've been looking around and they're around £79 + near me which seems a bit steep but would be a lovely thing to do on his birthday. I'm going to keep looking on Groupon and see if anything near me comes up x

Ellsbells112 · 30/08/2019 09:26

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I ended up having an early miscarriage on Saturday. My doc said sometimes there is an issue with the pregnancy and it just doesn't stick and thats why my hcg levels were so low, glad I wasnt going crazy, sad aswell, obviously. We are going to try again this month x

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 30/08/2019 09:30

So sorry to hear that. Hope you are ok. Wishing you all the best for the next cycle

AlmostAlwyn · 30/08/2019 09:33

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I did do another test! My camera isn't that great at the close-ups so it's quite difficult to see - and impossible to capture the 10 DPO, which I could barely see with my own eyes!

Good luck with the OPKs to you and @Wearenotyourkind Smile

Wearenotyourkind · 30/08/2019 09:45

@AlmostAlwyn thanks! And congrats on the schwanger again! 😃

@Ellsbells112 so sorry to hear this. Please be kind to yourself. Hoping your OH is being supportive? Sending loads of love 💕

Ellsbells112 · 30/08/2019 09:52

@wakemeupwithcoffee thank you so much for your kind words. He hasn't been that supportive, hes not much of an emotional man, very logical while I'm emotional. So I've felt alone with my sadness and I've felt like I shouldn't be sad because there are other people that had to endure worse like a later miscarriage which must be terrible. But I am sad, I'm trying to let it run its course and hopefully i will feel better soon. I had a massive cry last night and I feel like that has helped some Xxx

Ellsbells112 · 30/08/2019 09:54

@Wakemeupwithcoffee "no time for legs up" made me chuckle x

Wearenotyourkind · 30/08/2019 10:01

@Ellsbells112 your feelings are 100% valid and you have every right to feel sad. You can't compare your experience or journey with anyone else's as we are all different. I'm sorry to hear that your partner isn't perhaps responding in the way you need or would like. Do you have any other family or friends who know what's happened or you feel you could talk to? If not, we may not be there in person, but we are all here to support you on here. Just give yourself time to process things and grieve in the way that is right for you. Take one day at a time and just be kind and gentle with yourself. I'm sorry I don't have any practical advise as I've not been through this myself, but sending lots of love to you 💕

AlmostAlwyn · 30/08/2019 10:06

So sorry to hear that, @Ellsbells112. So sad for you Sad Give yourself space to feel sad too, it's absolutely OK and you don't have to pick yourself up and move on just because someone else has it worse than you.

Hopefully you've got someone in real life who can give you a hug Flowers

Ellsbells112 · 30/08/2019 10:25

@Wakemeupwithcoffee thank you, your words mean so much to me I really appreciate it ❤ and you @almostalwyn thank you xx

Unfortunately I don't, I'm very shocked that a close friend of mine that I told has literally disappeared on me but when she was constantly having issues with her partner she was on the phone to me and I didn't mind because I know what it's like to need someone. This has shown me though I suppose where I stand.

Thank you again so much, it means the world to me ❤💖

Congratulations @almostalwyn !! Happy for you that's great xxx

@wakemeupwithcoffee when are you ovulating? I'm ovulating the 6th september I think. I'll have to try these ovulating strips to see if my app is correct this month xx

Missdrifter · 30/08/2019 10:43

@ellsbells112 So sorry to hear about the missed miscarriage 😢 you have every right to feel sad and upset. Your partner sounds very much like how my partner would react. Mine is very logical and is always like it will happen when it happens and although he wants a baby, he doesn’t understand when I get upset on the arrival of AF! Just be easy on yourself because your emotions are real.

After saying I was going to give up on ovulation tests, I couldn’t resist and I got a flashing smiley this morning. Which sort of matches my Flo app, but interestingly I put my dates etc in to the Ovia app and they have different predictions. In July I DTD around the dates Flo had predicted but because my period ended up being late (I think because of SS tablets) I looked back and my predicted ovulation date had changed which meant I missed the boat that month. All very confusing!!

Sending good luck to everyone!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 30/08/2019 15:52

@Ellsbells112 so glad we can be of support to you - everyone is so nice and supportive and that is exactly what we all need! There is always someone worse off than you but that doesn’t mean you should get over it quickly or it’s not a big deal. Like @Wearenotyourkind said be kind to yourself totally normal to feel sad. Men are sometimes different to us in the way that they think. Sending a big hug 🤗 glad I made you laugh with the legs up 😆 I am not telling a single soul (apart from hubby of course!) that we are trying so I am enjoying chatting to you guys. Quite a few friends know all about the shall we/shan’t we debate that we’ve been going through for a year. Now when they am I say we are still thinking but should decide soon!

So I think I have a little left pelvic pain (unless I’m imagining it??). OPK just now has a line but not as dark as the control. The pack instructions say to treat this a negative. But do I take this as I am close? Or not? Sorry probably explains in the video which I haven’t watched yet.

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 30/08/2019 15:56

@Ellsbells112 so to answer your question I don’t know but soon! I’m using the Ovia app and it doesn’t give you a date just a six day window. You put your own ovulation date in. Last month I put it in for the day after I got a positive OPK but whether that was correct I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ And that was the last day of my fertile period (the day I put it in).

Wearenotyourkind · 30/08/2019 16:22

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I think if the line is there but not dark enough yet to be the same as the control line and therefore a positive, then it's a good indication that you will probably get a positive soon. I think that's how it's supposed to work anyway!

Ellsbells112 · 31/08/2019 10:18

Thank you @Missdrifter xxx
@Wakemeupwithcoffee yes I see! I'll have to look up this ovia app, my sister went to a specialist to look at her ovaries who said at the time she wasnt ovulating, but her app flo said she was! So I'm not too trusting of it anymore x

Mim21 · 31/08/2019 23:03

So sorry to hear your news @Ellsbells112 you've got every right to feel how you feel 💐 we're all here.

Re ovulation mine definitely happened at least 2-3days before my clue app said i was meant to, i knew due to cm and my ovulation pains.

Absa · 01/09/2019 10:04

@Wakemeupwithcoffee with the Clue app, when you put a positive OPK test in, it put O as the next day. I think because levels build and as soon as you O the levels drop. So I think when you get a positive OPK it means you're about to O, and when you actually do the levels aren't detectable anymore.

Wearenotyourkind · 01/09/2019 19:40

Just wondering how you're doing today @Ellsbells112 ?

Ellsbells112 · 01/09/2019 21:49

@Mim21 thank you ❤ I'm going to check this week and see how it matches up.

@Wearenotyourkind I'm doing okay thank you for asking ❤ just waiting for the fertile time now lol

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 02/09/2019 18:19

Hi all. Hope everyone ok. So I did an OPK late Friday pm and had a line but not as dark as the control line. I did another sat morning and think it was similar or maybe bit darker then I’ve been away for the weekend and didn’t manage to do another until Sunday night and I was at someone’s house so didn’t have a pot to wee in but aimed and left in flow for the 3 seconds (thought this would be about ok?!) but only faint line and I’ve tried another just now with a pot and barely any line now. So I’m wondering if I just missed the window when the dark as control line would be (maybe later Saturday or early Sunday). Does anyone else who uses those types of tests do it the following day after a positive and does it tend to stay the same a while or would it be easy to miss it you missed a day and half right at the crucial point?

Tried to DTD sat morning before we left and DD came in!! So that was the end of that! So frustrating! Hoping to try tonight. Ovia says it’s my last day in the fertile period. Have a feeling this won’t be our month!

Ellsbells112 · 02/09/2019 19:04

Hey @Wakemeupwithcoffee sorry I cant help with the OPK I'm at the confusing first stage myself with them, haven't got any line yet but by my app I think my fertile days start tomorrow.

Sorry things are frustrating right now!! Still hoping the best for you this month!

I DTD yesterday night but my app says fertility starts from tomorrow, I'll be doing a OPK test every morning to see when it comes up! I'll let you know when mine appear/disappear

Missdrifter · 02/09/2019 19:45

@Wearenotyourkind I was using similar ovulation tests as you and my line started darker (but still way lighter than the control line, it then went lighter which I thought was odd because I didn’t think I had ovulated. I then switched to the clear blue ones that day and I had a negative, followed by 2 flashing smileys and the a static one. I have the Flo app which predicted my ovulation date to be when I had the first flashing smiley but I ended up ovulating after my predicted fertile stage. So don’t give up hope yet!!
