Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

I am also slightly confused with the clear blue ones as to wether or not a flashing smiley is a positive or negative? Does anyone know?

Wearenotyourkind · 02/09/2019 20:34

OPKS are a bloody minefield 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hayley94 · 02/09/2019 20:59

@Wearenotyourkind I've with you on that. Just off pill 25th August and they said I ovulated both 30th and today! Go figure

Thanks guys. Oh yeah that makes no sense at all!

Hayley94 · 02/09/2019 21:17

Nope, have no idea whether I'm coming or going 🤪

Missdrifter · 02/09/2019 21:24

Oops sorry, previous message was supposed to be in response to @Wakemeupwithcoffee!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 02/09/2019 21:29

Ha ha don’t worry we keep getting confused on here 🤣

Ellsbells112 · 02/09/2019 21:53

Oh damn, maybe I should invest in clear blue ones then!

Missdrifter · 03/09/2019 10:39

Is anyone starting their TWW? Let’s hope September is a lucky one for us all!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 03/09/2019 17:15

I am as from today! We were too tired after travelling yesterday so only managed to DTD x2 in fertile period and feeling early on so not feeling at all hopeful. We have been away visiting on my most fertile days cycle 1 and 2 so that has been difficult. Hoping to make it a priority next month. We’ve not had a BFP for a while, anyone got any news? Did you get a stronger line @AlmostAlwyn?

AlmostAlwyn · 03/09/2019 18:18

@Wakemeupwithcoffee we only DTD twice during my fertile period too, so you never know Smile

I tested every day over the weekend and did one last one yesterday (period due). So got a nice progression Smile Got my first appointment in three weeks so just got to wait for that now!

How many times during your fertile time should you try? 3 times?? I'm going to aim for three Grin but my ovulation strips arent coming up positive yet which is annoying since my app tells me I'm bloody fertile. Hopefully it comes up tomorrow on a strip!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 03/09/2019 20:18

According to Ovia research shows you’ve got as good a chance every other day as every day so I think 3 good!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 03/09/2019 20:43

Looking good @AlmostAlwyn!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 03/09/2019 20:48

I think the theory is you ovulate the last day of your fertile period so your positive OPK should be about day 4 or 5 of your fertile period. Since sperm can live up to 5 days you are fertile up to 5 days before you ovulate so the sperm is ready and waiting! I’m wondering if my hubby’s sperm won’t last that long now he is 40 😆

AlmostAlwyn · 03/09/2019 21:18

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I'm sure your fallopian tubes make it very comfortable for the sperm! Though they do have to make it there first! Grin

I think if you DTD every other day for the week you're supposed to be fertile then you've got a good chance of catching the right moment!

Missdrifter · 03/09/2019 22:06

That’s what I have heard too. I think I may have DTD too much, does anyone know if that can affect quality of sperm? Oh well, it’s a waiting game now...

Mim21 · 03/09/2019 23:10

@Missdrifter i read that dtd every day is fine unless you know that your partner has low sperm count etc, however i also heard that it should be sufficient to dtd every other day, this is what we did and i believe it was the second time we did it (the day before i ovulated) that worked as i reckon they were in there ready waiting to catch the egg! I think the sperm friendly lube must help in these cases as well to get the sperm to where it needs to be and help it live longer? Thats just a guess but cant hurt!

Mim21 · 03/09/2019 23:11

@AlmostAlwyn congratulations! Thanks

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 04/09/2019 07:21

So quick poll who who is pregnant uses the lube and who didn’t and which one did you use if you used one. I actually looked at it yesterday in boots along with more expensive ovulation kits and then felt I didn’t want to spend anymore money right then so didn’t get either!

AlmostAlwyn · 04/09/2019 08:12

@Mim21 thanks very much!

@Wakemeupwithcoffee No lube for me!

Mim21 · 04/09/2019 08:42

I used conception plus - the pack of 3 that you squirt up there Confused

Absa · 04/09/2019 15:48

I honestly think that since we started TTC in July my DH has been less interested in sex! I thought he'd just at the chance to be "jumped on" more often, but it seems it's had the opposite effect. He blames it on his medication but I'm worried he's been out off by my enthusiasm!

Currently in my fertile window waiting for a positive OPK this month but struggling to motivate DH to get on board.

On holiday next month right when my fertile will be so we have some great holiday sex.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 04/09/2019 16:23

Yes! Didn’t like to say as thought you lot are probably younger/younger hubbies/ been together not as long. Six years ago he was all excited about trying for #2 as it meant we ‘could have tons of sex’ and then we got pregnant immediately 😆 I was putting it down to our age/been together so long but maybe it’s the pressure. He was talking about doing it tonight this morning! I was all ‘you’re too late!’ 🤣

Absa · 04/09/2019 16:45

@Wakemeupwithcoffee yes, we haven't been married long but have been together about 8 years now (or 7 or 9, can't actually remember!) and have always had times where we've been up and down with the amount of sex we have had. Before we started trying in July, we were DTD lots, then July comes and we're in a slow patch again! I don't know if I'm subconsciously acting differently (probably) or if it's just coincidence!
