Anyone in the same boat? I'm 33 and from next week DH and I will be actively trying for #1. I'm excited, nervous, trying to be chill about it all but also imagining myself with a bump celebrating Xmas this year Grin

I started taking SS 'trying for a baby' supplements 4 weeks ago, not sure if it was their effects or not but this month my cycle was 20 days. Otherwise i'm 27 days always. Anyways, let's see what happens.

Hoping to find some pals in a similar place at the moment on here!

@TurquoiseKiss woweee!! That’s fantastic news, congratulations. How are you hiding the not drinking part? Any symptoms yet?

Mim21 · 25/08/2019 10:27

@TurquoiseKiss fantastic news! Congratulations! Good luck with hiding it, we went out with friends yesterday and I love a drink so I think it was fairly obvious. Keep having to pretend i'm hungover as it's the most likely excuse Grin

Harty89 · 25/08/2019 14:18

@TurquoiseKiss congratulations!!!!!

PrincessConsuela12 · 25/08/2019 15:05

@TurquoiseKiss Congratulations!!! 💙💗

TurquoiseKiss · 25/08/2019 15:59

Thanks everyone, still hard to believe its real. Praying everything goes as planned as a baby in early May would definitely suit me for my sisters wedding end of July! How is everyone else getting on?

@Wakemeupwithcoffee it was our second cycle TTC but the first cycle was all odd given my cycle was only 20 days. Clearly you never know what could have helped but the big change this month was me replacing the Seven Seas pre-conception vitamins with the 3 different Boots brand types I mentioned in an earlier post. As for food and booze - my diet has probably been the worst its been since I was a student, so definitely didn't make any difference! The only other accessory in my arsenal was FertileCheck Fertility Gel but we didn't use every time. Re ovulation question - I think I ovulated on CD14 or CD15, we DTD on CD12 and CD15.

@Missdrifter symptoms so far have been tender boobs and underarms, feels like having the underwire of a bra pop out and lightly poke you. Prominent vein in one boob that wasn't there before. On my right side - feels like ovulation pain but lower - imagine a thumb poking you right where the top of your leg meets your pelvis - I guess where my public bone is. All of it very bearable though, if we weren't TTC I'd probably write off as regular female aches and pains. I've been having vivid dreams from CD20 still up to now. On the booze front - luckily we were in a house, when we got back from the beach DH came into the room we were in as I was getting changed, he'd started on a can of beer - I got him to finish most of it then give it to me. Nobody saw him take a fresh one out of the fridge, I took the almost-empty one out to the garden and sipped it for ages. Basically I waited until everyone had a full drink in the garden before going in to get myself one and just shoved a load of tonic, ice and fruit in a gin glass in record time Smile I did that twice. Luckily everyone was knackered by 10pm but we were the first ones to go to bed. I'm driving us home today so that's a big help to keep up the cover story!

@Mim21 I reckon loads of people must twig when a frequent drinker isn't drinking all of a sudden! However its nice when people keep it to themselves. DH's friend (here now) cannot keep a secret to save her life, I'm so glad she didn't notice anything! I know if she had she would have come straight out and said something infront of everybody. Good luck to you! I'm dreading trying to keep it private for another 8 weeks, I have a 30th birthday and a wedding to get through! Have you got any other boozy events on the horizon?

OMG congratulations @TurquoiseKiss!!!!! I'm so happy for you 😘

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 25/08/2019 20:21

Thanks for the info. I’ve just bought the seven seas one!! 🙈 anyone else had success on those? I don’t know whether to just buy some bog standard folic acid ones!? Has anyone else bought the double pack pregnacare and got their partner to take the ‘his’ side? I’ve been put of them altogether after the long cycle thing!

Anyone coming up to their fertile period? Mine starts Wednesday according to Ovia!

Wearenotyourkind · 25/08/2019 20:51

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I am apparently in my fertile window now! If of course, my one period so far is anything to go on. Did OPKs yesterday and today and both had lines but not strong enough yet to be positive. According to my apps, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are my most fertile days. So I'll continue doing OPKs daily and with DTD on those 3 days 🤞🏻

Positivity2019 · 25/08/2019 21:07

@TurquoiseKiss ohhh wow that’s great congratulations. Good job hiding the drinking too, very clever techniques.
Hope everyone else is fine.

Mim21 · 25/08/2019 21:18

@Wakemeupwithcoffee i took the seven seas for a couple of months and didn't notice any difference to ny cycles (29 days) had my partner on wellman conception, as he doesn't usually take any vitamins.

@TurquoiseKiss I'm trying to limit social plans this coming month so i can avoid any situations. We just went to my parent in laws this evening though and told them as they always have wine on the go and it's nice to have someone to talk to about it!

dropthemic · 26/08/2019 18:50

It's been a while since I've checked in to the thread, congratulations to all the new BFP! So exciting and great to hear success stories.
No luck for us so far. I had some spotting today and I was hoping it might be implantation bleed but I've the tell tale cramps now that mean it's more than likely AF coming tomorrow. Pity as according to Ovia app Wednesday would have been the day to do a pregnancy test.
Also I've just been diagnosed with celiac disease. One of the side effects, if left untreated, is infertility. I've been having symptoms for a long time so I'm really hoping I havent done irreversible damage. Feeling very emotional and weepy today.

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 26/08/2019 19:29

So sorry the hear that. I don’t know much about celiac disease do you have a plan in place to improve your symptoms? Fingers crossed it hasn’t affected your fertility. Do you have time on your side age wise? I really hope you soon feel better 😘

dropthemic · 26/08/2019 20:47

Thank you. Just getting my head around totally removing gluten from my diet. I just thought it was bread and pasta but it's in everything. Some friends have told me they don't believe in celiac disease, that everything is fine as long as you have a balance - it's very annoying as the long term side effects of not managing it properly are serious.
I'm 32 so I've some time I hope. I know that getting pregnant isnt easy and it may be many many more months of trying, but AF arriving is the straw that broke the emotional camels back this month

Wearenotyourkind · 26/08/2019 20:52

Sorry to hear you're having a shit time @dropthemic this TTC thing really is a rollercoaster of emotions. Without then having a newly diagnosed health condition to contend with. Keep your chin up.

dropthemic · 26/08/2019 21:16

@Wearenotyourkind @WakemeupwithcoffeeThank you both. Its nice that there is a space to vent a little. TTC really is a head wrecker

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 26/08/2019 21:34

That is annoying they said that! I’m sure they would believe in it if they were suffering with it! I had a friend who told me she would never have taken anti sickness medication when she had morning sickness when I literally had to take it or I would have died and so would my baby if I hadn’t! Friends can be so unhelpful sometimes 🙄 I am also finding it stressful. I’m getting a lot of headaches I’m wondering if it’s tension headaches. Good luck with the change of diet can’t be easy.

PrincessConsuela12 · 26/08/2019 22:17

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I've had headaches on & off for a week now, I'm thinking mine might be caffeine withdrawals 🤷🏽‍♀️ anyway, I started using 4head and it's been amazing!

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 26/08/2019 22:30

@PrincessConsuela12 thank you I will look for that tomorrow at boots! What’s happening with you did you get your period?

PrincessConsuela12 · 26/08/2019 22:47

@Wakemeupwithcoffee I didn't, I got my BFP! I honestly couldn't believe it. I'm now 4+5 and have my early scan booked in tomorrow to make sure everything is where is should be. Completely terrified as I've been feeling left side cramping but I'm hoping it's just some stretching.
How are things with you?

AlmostAlwyn · 27/08/2019 05:53

That sounds so tough, @dropthemic. It must seem pretty daunting as gluten is absolutely everywhere. Have a virtual hand hold. You can do it!

Congratulations @PrincessConsuela12! Flowers

Wakemeupwithcoffee · 27/08/2019 06:27

@PrincessConsuela12 that’s fab congratulations!! Hope all goes well with the scan. Let us know.

I’m ok thanks 1 day until fertile period according to Ovia. Think I’ll start on the OPKs today.

Wearenotyourkind · 27/08/2019 06:32

Congratulations @PrincessConsuela12!!!!!!

PrincessConsuela12 · 27/08/2019 07:03

@AlmostAlwyn @Wearenotyourkind @Wakemeupwithcoffee Thank you 😊

Absa · 27/08/2019 07:26

@TurquoiseKiss Huge congrats to you!

@Wearenotyourkind I'm not far behind you with fertile window starting end of this week.
So this will be round 3 now, here's hoping!

DH and I booked a holiday for 10'days in Oct which falls over my next fertile window so if it doesn't happen this month at least next month we'll both be away, stress free and DTD as often as pos on hols! 😂

PrincessConsuela12 · 27/08/2019 10:00

@Wakemeupwithcoffee They could see what might be the start of a sac however it is so so small they cannot say for sure so I'm having to have bloods today & back again in 48 hours to see if my levels have increased 🤞🏽
