Conception and ovulation straight after chemical pregnancy

Hi all,
New to this board ☺️
I’m 32 and myself and DH are trying for number 2 (we have an almost 3YO DD). We just had a chemical pregnancy - AF was due May 18th, already faint pregnancy test lines got fainter on May 19th and disappeared completely on 20th. Started bleeding May 20th and now on a very heavy AF.

We are emotionally ready to just got for it again, my question is have any of you positive experience of getting right after an early Chemical pregnancy and if so did you find you ovulated earlier/later.

For example, I ovulate exactly 14 days after my period starts. As my period was technically 3 days late, do I assume I will just ovulate 14 days after this bleed started? Or do I count 14 days after period was actually due?

Anyone who has just been through the same that wants to join me on this journey please do! X

Hi I hope you don't mind if I join, possibly a little late but I've been lurking for a while just building up to getting back involved in mumsnet following early miscarriage last month.

I wasn't really sure what to expect after MC so I feel like I've not been tracking properly this month like before- I started doing OPKs and when I checked Tuesday's yesterday afternoon realized there was quite a strong line on it, so I wondered whether I'm ovulating. DTD just in case but I'm not sure I will have to rely on temps I think. To make it more complicated I seriously injured my leg shortly after MC which has kept me distracted I guess but made DTD tricky!

I have started cd1 from the first day I started to bleed red blood rather than the brown spotting I had leading up to the MC. Not sure if that's right but that would put me ovulating CD19 which would make sense I'd just assumed it would take longer

Charlotte9876 · 13/06/2019 22:13

@Whyhaveidonethis I didn't get my bfp until day 12, so cd10 is still early

@Abi58 that looks good! Best get busy 😂
My OPKs never get darker than that (if that dark at all), I think it must be because I'm always glugging so much water. I have been thinking of getting clear blue so I get the smiley faces instead - where were they on offer?

TryingVeryHard2015 · 14/06/2019 06:55

@Abi58 - my cycles are generally pretty regular and I tend to ovulate around cd 12 based on my cm (and how up for DTD I am). I have to guess for the most part and tend to err on the side of caution. I won't temp as that may take me down an obsessive road. I might use opks in a few months though if we don't get success.

Af due Tuesday by my calculations.

I was really naive to mc's and cp's until recently and didn't know how "common" they were. 😔

MountAbora · 15/06/2019 14:20

Heya. How is everyone doing today?
Flo tells me I should ovulate today but no whiff of a positive OPK yet Hmm will try to DTD just in case! Cycle day 18 & ovulated on cycle day 20 last month so fingers crossed I get one in next couple of days.

satsumasaturday · 15/06/2019 15:59

Hi @MountAbora based on your last cycle fingers crossed you get your positive in the next day or so. Keep us posted 😊

Having thought I'd had a positive OPK on Tuesday I've not had a temperature rise still so I'm guessing I didn't ovulate after all. Cd21 for me now so will keep testing I guess and wait for another positive

Whyhaveidonethis · 15/06/2019 16:16

AF due tomorrow. Boobs are sore today and we're yesterday but I got a BFN yesterday. Going to test tonight when I finish my shift.

MountAbora · 15/06/2019 16:37

Thanks @satsumasaturday, it’s a bit confusing after a cp isn’t it, as I keep wondering whether my cycle has been knocked off a bit.

Fingers crossed for you too as that sounds frustrating! What cycle day is normal for you to ovulate?

MountAbora · 15/06/2019 16:42

And good luck @Whyhaveidonethis! Let us know how the testing goes.

Abi58 · 15/06/2019 17:07

@Charlotte9876 sorry to hear you've been through this as well. Hopefully you managed to catch it this month :) hope your leg is getting better. 🤞🏻 for you

I definately have made the most of it - hormones really affecting me so sex drive has gone through the roof, husband is definitely not complaining 😂

I think I just got them off eBay but managed to get just the sticks so then eBayd the stick as well, overall was cheaper than in the shops.

Got an actual positive cd 13 and yesterday cd14. Temp still the same today so guessing I'll ov today and temp rise tomorrow or next. 🤞🏻

@TryingVeryHard2015 tbh just going for it sounds good, I have got obsessive but only really started after the pill to see what happened as didn't want to waste money on tests if I hadn't even ovulated (and also get my hopes up) as didn't know how long it would take to ovulate or have a real af. 1 month of doing that I had the early miscarriage (last month) so month 2 now and thought I'd carry it on as again didn't know if this would mess up my cycle 😩 doesn't seem to have which is good and I like knowing what's going on with my body but means I know when I'm in the tww and it went so slowly last month 🙁

Same here the dr said 1 in 4 which and they are the ones that test early enough to kkkw prob loads that never realise 😢

Tuesday is so close now! How are you feeling?

@MountAbora I think I'm ovulating today as well 😁🤞🏻you can miss the LG surge so easily if it lasts a few hours and happens while at work or sleeping so I wouldn't worry about it too much just dtd to cover all bases 😁 🤞🏻

@satsumasaturday you could have geared up for ov and it might happen later? What cd do you normally ov on?

Abi58 · 15/06/2019 17:09

@MountAbora just saw your later post about it possibly changing your cycle. Last month I got positive opk on cd12 and this month it was a day later, but I counted cd 1 when I started to bleed at bedtime so technically if I counted the following day as cd1 it would be 2 days later this month. From what I have read a day or two later isn't uncommon afterwards 🤞🏻 for you

Good luck for your testing @Whyhaveidonethis just remember if it's neg try again tomorrow with fmu 😁

satsumasaturday · 15/06/2019 18:15

Probably should have mentioned in my last post that I changed my name (forgot I'd done it). So the previous post from Charlotte9876 is me too 😊

@Abi58 and @MountAbora I'm not sure on ovulation dates really, first couple of cycles once off the pill it was around cd18, the one I conceived was cd26. So my peak might still be to come I think. I'm also not entirely sure on cycle dates as I'm don't really know what day to count it from this cycle. So frustrating!!

Abi58 · 16/06/2019 08:20

@satsumasaturday ahhhh 😁 I counted cd 1 from the day I started bleeding. Keep testing with the opks and see if they rise again 🤞🏻

TryingVeryHard2015 · 16/06/2019 12:22

@Abi58 - I have tender boobs (which I never get before Af) and have been super tired. Other than that, I have no other symptoms. Had nothing with my son though. Last month I had tingly boobs and cramping.

I also tend to keep an eye on my rhr as that's a good indicator for me.

This last few days are the hardest and I'm only on my second proper cycle of trying. I don't know how others cope doing this month in, month out. Other than just having to, I suppose.

satsumasaturday · 16/06/2019 13:01

@TryingVeryHard2015 I know what you mean, constantly waiting seems like you've put everything else on hold - and having thought the TWW was bad, once I got my BFP that was also dragging, with everything I guess being worrying until the first scan. And since that one didn't work out I imagine next time will be worse still!

Anyway I'm taking the positive from the whole thing that at least having seen the line you know that it could happen again- I was on cycle 3 and I was worrying that we'd be trying for months and months. At least I know now that we are doing it right (and DH can have his heated seat on in the car 😂) and that we just have to keep trying and hope next time it sticks.

@Abi58 I've counted from the first day of red bleeding (I was spotting brown for a few days before). It took a few days until I got a negative pregnancy test though as I guess the hgc had build up a bit, so perhaps I should have counted from the negative test. I'm getting watery cm today again so hoping I'll get another positive OPK today/tomorrow and actually ovulate this time.

Abi58 · 16/06/2019 13:43

@TryingVeryHard2015 tender boobs sounds positive🤞🏻 for you when are you going to test?

What happens to your rhr?

@satsumasaturday i didn't test until a few days after bleeding started as I was too scared too, did it at drs in the end and it was neg. I'd say you've done the right thing by counting from red blood but it can delay your cycle a bit the following month 🤞🏻 you get another positive soon!

TryingVeryHard2015 · 16/06/2019 15:19

@satsumasaturday - exactly! Silver lining of this is that we know what we're doing 😉

@Abi58 - my rhr always increases before my period but drops two days before I start. It is higher than usual though. I just don't know when to test. Part of me wants to test tomorrow but Tuesday is when I'm due so if I show no signs, I'd prefer to do it then. Although I'm in the office Tuesday and Wednesday which makes it more inconvenient. Bloody work. 🙄 😄

Abi58 · 16/06/2019 16:10

@TryingVeryHard2015 oh I didn't know that what do you use to check yours? Just a blood pressure monitor thing?

Would you do it in the morning before you leave? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

satsumasaturday · 16/06/2019 16:17

I also noticed last month that my rhr went up after ovulation- only by a couple of bpm but enough to see it on my Fitbit chart. It was 54-56 per ovulation and then 57/58 post ovulation. With my being off my feet this month though with my bad leg it's gone down to 53bpm so not sure if it'll work this month!

I think I have just got another positive OPK - so fingers crossed this is it 😊

LittleRedSocks · 16/06/2019 16:48

Hi all, great to see a good chat is going on here! Hoping those of you that are waiting to test are feeling positive and that those earlier on in the tww/still dtd will have great luck! I’ve been testing on FRERs for about a week...one evening I swear there was a little line....then not again. I’m driving myself mad if I’m being honest. I’m pretty sure I’m 100% out this month becuase with both my CP’s and with my DD I got faint lines from about 11DPO (today is 12/13DPO and not a sausage). AF due on Tuesday. But I am feeling really down because I just feel like this is not my month - though if you’d asked me this time last week I’d have bet my life that I was becuase I just ‘felt’ pregnant. Xx

@littleredsocks - I think you're allowed to feel down about it all. Despite the whole "you're not put until Af shows up", it can feel rather depressing when you're testing and not seeing anything.

@Abi58 - Like Satsuma does, I use my fitbit as I wear it constantly. I can generally see changes in my rhr throughout the month. Last month my rhr climbed consistently for days, then dropped two beats and, sure enough, two days later I started to bleed. I might have to take it off if I get pregnant again as it might send me loopy.

TryingVeryHard2015 · 16/06/2019 17:21

I must add, it is swayed largely by my diet/training routine so I've tried to keep things stable this month.

Whyhaveidonethis · 16/06/2019 22:13

@LittleRedSocks I'm also 13dpo and been testing like mad. I also convinced myself I saw, a faint line on a FRER yesterday but it was just line eyes.i had some brown spotting earlier but its stopped now and I'm so bloody frustrated. IC was BFN this morning but bbt was super high. I did however (TMI alert) have my standard huge period poop earlier so I'll probably see AF tomorrow. I really thought this would be my month. 😭

Whyhaveidonethis · 16/06/2019 22:16

@TryingVeryHard2015 my rhr also went up from 66bpm to 70bpm when I got my BFN last month. It dropped before I started to bleed too.

Whyhaveidonethis · 16/06/2019 22:16

@TryingVeryHard2015 that should say it went up to 70 when I got my BFP!! Then dropped just before AF showed

LittleRedSocks · 16/06/2019 23:08

Oh @whyhavei please keep me posted, fingers crossed for you!!! Is AF due Tuesday for you too then? Or Monday?

Thank you so much @TryingVeryHard2015 for your kind words, I hope you are doing ok too! Xxx
