@Chatbash72 it wasn't aspirin but a similar pill for blood thinning. My head is spinning here trying to find answers and what to do next

Chatbash72 · 18/06/2019 16:18

@Russkispy
the body works in very strange ways... sending big hugs.. xx

Russkispy · 18/06/2019 16:21

@Chatbash72 thanks! total madness! Big sigh here 😞

Chatbash72 · 18/06/2019 16:54

Easier said than done, @Russkispy
but try not to drive yourself too mad by it.. I know more frustrating because it's ivf... so you can have more answers, but keep the faith that it will happen next time.. keep that positivity flowing through you.. it's good for you mind which in turn will feed your body.. xxx

Russkispy · 18/06/2019 17:00

@Chatbash72 absolutely! Just didn't expect this news! Thought it would be the same outcome as my frozen one with trisomy 18. Anyway, deep breaths, reflexology on Friday. And breath....

hmmm123 · 18/06/2019 17:04

Good luck @Mikki2019

@Russkispy That's a really confusing situation. Sending hugs

Afm after not wanting af to come for the last few months I now want it to come more than ever! When it's late for no reason I worry that it won't return. I had a 46 cycle this time last year and felt evil!
I hate being in limbo!

Russkispy · 18/06/2019 17:24

@hmmm123 thank you! And sorry you're in a limbo land. Why oh why it's so damn hard sometimes!

Kimm123 · 18/06/2019 17:37

@Russkipsy.....im feeling for you sweet.Be strong and positive you know you can do this and hopefully with ivf it will go to plan. Try not to get stressed about it...keep yourself occupied with other things...and u will be fine...dont forget we are always here for you....and that ur not alone....sending lots of love n hugs ur way 😘😘😘😘

Kimm123 · 18/06/2019 17:39

Im just looking forward to my holiday...not long now ...going to sort myself out wen i come bk...aint got tym to stress about this lol xxx

Hobbes39 · 18/06/2019 18:48

Hi @Russkispy - I can imagine that v hard news to get your head around. Chromosomal problems are the most common reason for miscarriage, but if they found none I'm not sure if that means they just can't test for them all, or if it means there definitely wasn't one?
Have you been tested for blood clotting issues? I hope your clinic gives you some more answers - I know I found it strangely reassuring to know that the miscarriage they were able to test was a trisomy as at least there was a reason and there was no reason why it would repeat... the not knowing why is so hard, Thanks x

Mikki2019 · 18/06/2019 20:20

Tested this evening and negative ! Am relived but also a bit wistful ! X

Cleozeta · 18/06/2019 21:06

Russkispy - how confusing! I hope they can find answers, but on the plus side - you likely have good eggs!

karryk · 18/06/2019 21:26

Sending hugs @Russkispy Flowers

Do you know if you had any internal adhesions after your c-section? I had an ultrasound last summer which showed some scar tissue so I was advised to have them treated before trying to conceive. I'm assuming though that you probably had plenty of ultrasounds as part of the ivf so they would have picked up on that.

rubyroot · 19/06/2019 20:25

Hi all. I have now had 4 pregnancies, one successful and one tfmr.

I’m now starting to think that my eggs are clearly the issue- indicated by my age.

Wondering whether to give up after my latest ‘cp’ or whether to keep going on in the hope of finding a good egg.

Any ladies experience of this?

Chatbash72 · 19/06/2019 21:09

It only takes one egg, are you taking anything to improve egg quality?

rubyroot · 19/06/2019 21:22

@Chatbash72 I’ve read quite a bit about egg quality etc and as far as I can see there’s not a lot you can do to change egg quality. I’m taking the usual dosage of folic acid- I’ve taken it upon myself to take two instead of one and that’s it

karryk · 19/06/2019 21:41

Hi @rubyroot Smile I've had 5 pregnancies - two miscarriages then one successful and another miscarriage last year. I'm now in the early stages of pregnancy 5. I'll be 42 this weekend (!)

I think part of it is a numbers game (I.e. Keep trying) but it's up to the individual how much they think they can put themselves through and this will be different for everyone. I met a lady around the same age as me who had 11 miscarriages before having her daughter. Personally I don't think I could do that, just not strong enough. Where you draw the line is really up to you and you'll know yourself the best. I've been doing 5 elements acupuncture, taking ubiquinol, folate (instead of folic acid) and also did fertility massage this last cycle as well as take a probiotic supplement for a few months beforehand. I think even the slightest thing might help but that's just me Smile I'm a firm believer in trusting my body and that it is capable of carrying a pregnancy - whether I stop trying before it has a chance to prove me right is another thing and one (if I get to it) I will try my best not to beat myself up over.

I'm rambling now (!) but just to reiterate, it's such a personal decision and you'll know in your heart if you want to try again - listen to that voice xx

Cleozeta · 20/06/2019 08:00

At my clinic they said the only thing proven to help egg quality is DHEA, but that isn't available here in the uk. (So clearly I got some online)

SwimmerGirl40 · 20/06/2019 08:04

Morning ladies, I’m almost 41 and TTC.

14 DPO today and CD 28. My cycle can be between 26 and 30 days so not out of the woods yet but no sign of AF yet. Can’t tell DO in case we end up being disappointed again. Will be testing on Saturday, unless AF shows up in the next 2 days.

SwimmerGirl40 · 20/06/2019 08:08

An anecdote to give you some hope - my gran had my mum when she was 44. In the days before IVF or any kind of help, probably less knowledge than us in fertile periods - no Flo App or OPKs. She also smoked (as was common in those days) and had a couple of G&Ts every night. It gives me hope when I think about it, so I thought I would share.

PS I’m not drinking or smoking but I’m just saying it to show that pregnancies can occur even in less than ideal conditions.

hmmm123 · 20/06/2019 08:59

Welcome@SwimmerGirl40

af arrived so at least I can now crack on with new cycle and on the plus side cycle has increased from 25 to 32 days which I think is good

Could it be the vit d?

Cleozeta · 20/06/2019 09:13

Welcome swimmer! Love that story about your gran, just goes to show, I think sometimes we put too much focus on the nitty gritty details when ttc but really it is just luck of the draw.

MaryShelley1818 · 20/06/2019 09:36

Welcome Swimmer ☺️

Well I’ve officially turned into an absolutely crazy POAS addict!! You would think I should know better at 41.
I’ve had very sore nipples and woke up feeling really sick this morning so excitedly took a test which was a very clear BFN! So feeling gutted and disappointed again.

We have a big family holiday planned for next October with grandparents, 2 Aunts, Uncles and cousins etc who all only booked this date because it was the best for us so I’m feeling under huge pressure to conceive in the next month or two or realistically will need to decide to stop trying or risk ruining everyone elses plans. No one knows we’re trying and I feel so guilty.

sheshootssheimplores · 20/06/2019 10:30

I’m taking DHEA in capsule form prescribed by my (private) doctor, no idea of the doseage. Is anyone else who is taking it finding it’s making them feel nauseous, stomach achy? They suggest taking it in the morning on an empty stomach but Ive decided to take it before bed instead as I just can’t deal with the low level cramps anymore. It feels just like low level morning sickness and I hate it.

Cleozeta · 20/06/2019 11:20

Sheshoots - I take it at mealtimes, never had a problem with it.
