But i read somewere you can still get pregnant without periods but as long as you are ovulating. Not sure if this is true?? What do you think lovely ladies???

CritterTamer · 17/06/2019 01:34

@kimm123 it's not quite the same thing, but I've been told by both doctor and midwife when discussing post partum contraception that you can absolutely ovulate and get pregnant despite not having any period0s while breast feeding, so I guess it's very possible!

Kintan · 17/06/2019 09:54

Hi @Kimm123 I wonder why your fsh results were so different - did you get both tests on day 3 of your cycle? @CritterTamer Hope you and the twins are doing well! The way my midwife explained it to me is that you can get pregnant again before your period returns as you have ovulated because they are about to return. But if periods have disappeared for non post-partum reasons I’m guessing they might not return without some kind of medical intervention. Hope you can get to the bottom of things Kimm123 x

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 11:43

Well ladies....here we ago abit update....secretary finally called back said amh test results will come back in 4 weeks as they are sent to London...and i have not ovulated this month and to increase dose on Letrozole....😂😂😂😂

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 11:46

But the funny thing is i have discharge all the time....sometimes yellowish.clear white..all sorts...so whats all this about??? Im confused with this ovulating bit pls help xx

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 12:23

@CritterTamer....how did u concieve??? Did you use any fertility treatment or supplements??? And how old are you if you dont mind me asking??? You need to tell us your secret pls lol xx

CritterTamer · 17/06/2019 12:31

@kimm123 there's no secret I'm afraid - the twins are the result of our second round of IVF 😊

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 12:46

Oh ok....we will let u off then....is ivf process hard to go through? I think theres too much faffing about but i suppose if you really want to concieve than you got no choice....have you got children before the twins? xx

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 12:49

Sorry meant oh ok...not other half lol

Kintan · 17/06/2019 13:10

@Kimm123 Discharge isn't just linked to ovulation, but rather fluctuating hormone levels, so I wouldn't necessarily use that as a sign of ovulation. I'm 41 and currently 9 weeks pregnant. I was having regular periods though and took one round of clomid to 'strengthen ovulation' as my consultant put it. I also took loads of supplements as recommended in the book 'it starts with the egg', lost a bit of weight, had my DH also take conception vitamins, and had 3 months of fertility reflexology. Wishing you lots of luck, but I think your doc needs to get to the bottom of why your periods have stopped before you can decide what to do next x

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 13:33

Kintan....she didnt say why they may have stopped apart from my age...but last year i literally were having heavy periods were i was housebound so dr gave me tranemic acid tablets to calm the flow down..which did help also im on antidepressants too for ocd....so not sure why they have stopped... but she has given me medication to induce a bleed than to take letrozole on certain days...oh gosh its sooo confusing

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 13:38

And to add to all of this...i have endometriosis polyp which i recently had removed under surgery....so what would you recommend fertility meds aswell as reflexology?? Ive got letrozole how about you???

BooseysMom · 17/06/2019 13:58

Hi @Realitysucks..welcome back. Sorry to hear your last ivf was unsuccesful. At 43 there is still hope.. good luck

@MaryShelley1818... sorry to hear about your bfn.

As for me, I look in the mirror and see my DM staring back at me and i realise i'm out of time. Plus omg the run-up to AF is brutal atm. I have palpitations, feel nauseas and ache all over. I confessed to a lady gp we were ttc, feeling rather embarrassed due to my advanced age, and she just advised to take folic. She wouldn't do my hormones as my periods still regular but i know something feels not quite right Confused

Hope everyone is ok ..thanks for being there to read my sob story!!

littlemimosa · 17/06/2019 14:18

Booseys - have a look at Lara Briden’s website. She has loads of info on periods and associated symptoms in 40s such as awful pms and palpitations. She gives loads of advice on solutions.

Cleo - no I haven’t! I keep trying to get an appointment but not been successful yet. So hard to fit in with work. Must do it this week.

Kim- if I were you I’d be wanting to know why my periods had gone awol. Go back to your gp and to ‘my gynae’ and demand more tests. Have you been v stressed recently? I know stress affects me hormonally now more than ever. If you suffer with ocd maybe you need to be looking into some therapy for that? I hope that doesn’t sound critical, it just stood out to me in your post. I imagine it’s a very difficult thing to cope with....hth x

Mikki2019 · 17/06/2019 14:23

Hi all , could I join? I’m not TTc but am late with period and just feel a bit like I might / could be pregnant am 46 omfg

Have coil in !

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 17:40

Hi ladies....just a quick question....can you still do dtd whilst taking Mexdroprogesterone medication to induce a period??

hmmm123 · 17/06/2019 18:44

Welcome all

So I'm having a very odd cycle .. I'm 5 days late AF feels like she is on her way but no sign. Boobs are killing. I'm def not pregnant as we haven't BD this month☹️ I'm miffed because I'm sure AF will arrive just as I am off on hols and that is what I do not want! Also I've been regular as clockwork day 25 for months and this is the month that things go awry! ☹️☹️☹️

BooseysMom · 17/06/2019 19:19

@littlemimosa.. Thank you for the info. I just can't believe the gp (a woman) said the palps werent menopausal. A nurse said she thinks they're def linked to hormones. Everyone in the medical profession has a different opinion!

Hi Mikki. Ooh no way! What symptoms have you got? Good luck whatever happens

hmmm123.. can i join you? Although not yet late I'm having a strange cycle too. It's prob just AF round the corner but i feel nauseas, crampy and have v.swollen boobs. Good luck!

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 19:34

Anyone out there who can help me.....im scared to take mexydroprogesterone...prob spelt it wrong....
Am i right in saying take it for 10 days..how many days after taking this med to i havr a period????? Then day 2 to 6 take letrozole...but then we do we dtd...
Oh gosh this is so confused.com

Kimm123 · 17/06/2019 19:35

Im scared to take it cuz last time my period was mega heavy....lol and this was in january...

littlemimosa · 17/06/2019 23:20

I can’t help you sorry Kimm. You really need to be asking your gp which days to take it.

Booseys - I though palps were definitely a peri symptom?!

Kintan · 18/06/2019 08:18

@Kimm123 I know from when I took Clomid the doc will tell you to take it on certain days, and the days I was told to take it were different from those of a friend who was also taking it, so no one here can really advise you as these fertility drugs and their doses are tailored for the individual - can you call your doctor and ask?x

Russkispy · 18/06/2019 15:49

just heard from our hospital that our transferred embryo didn’t have any abnormalities! We will get full report in the next couple of days but the good news is that it didn’t have any chromosomal abnormalities! Of course my main question is why miscarriage happened? And last year too! Naturally I’m worried if I’ll miscarry with DE?! And now I’m thinking shall we try IVF with my eggs again? I’m now more confused than ever! And upset as my own embryo was ok and yet I miscarried. What would you do, ladies?! Have nobody else to ask. I contact my doc and yet to hear from her.

Welcome @Mikki2019 my friends sister gave birth to a little girl who was holding her coil in her hand when she was delivered..
welcome @fertilityhelphub and anyone else I might have missed..
@Kimm123 I would be at drs asking them to look into missing af, I think they are very dismissive of us as an age group.. preg, conception or menopause.. when actually we are the biggest age group having babies..
@Russkispy Did you take baby aspirin?
Sending lots of baby dust to you all, nothing to report here in the ttw...
