Hey ladies, we were nearing the limit on thread 28 so here's a new one.

Roll Call...

Name: Laney79
Age: 39
TTC: #1 since autumn 2017.
2 losses - MMC discovered March 2018, MMC discovered Sept 2018 both at what should've been 9 weeks, bean and bow measured 6 weeks.

@Lilimum6 I didn't have any charts at all, but I did have what I've written down about my cycles (dates etc) so I was more clear when they were asking about average length of cycles and so on. I'm assuming your charts are how you keep track of your cycles, so I'd definitely have them handy.
It'll all be ok. They're there for you. Take your time. Write things down. (Take a note pad and pen). If they ask if you have any questions, take a moment to look through your list and pause for a minute to think if there's anything else. (I tend to rush myself and then afterwards remember things I wanted to ask, so have come up with these techniques with doctors over the years).

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue I absolutely agree with what the others have said. a) Talk to your GP b) Raise a complaint if you feel up to it. It's completely unacceptable how you have been left feeling. No reassurance, no sympathy; and the nurse you spoke to seems to have a total lack of understanding of how dating a pregnancy works! Unbelievable! You are already 4 weeks. By 5 weeks they can see if the pregnancy is in place with the gestational sac; and given your history you really should be offered this reassurance!
I'm always keen to play devil's advocate or try and see things from the 'professional's' point of view; but in this situation I cannot fathom why she fobbed you off and made you feel so bad! Sad Hugs. Stay brave, strong lady. xxx

@AliceRR Tell your husband you're happy to take a wait-and-see approach so long as you DTD every two or three days... If he's anything like my OH he won't mind the tracking so much then. Hmm

Yukka · 30/04/2019 20:33

@alicerr ooh got my fingers crossed for you, my gut feel says you ov’d overnight Friday. With Cm you usually get 2-3 days before ov as your hormones gear up to create the right environment for sperm to thrive. Do you remember any cm last week?

@lilimum6 no internal at rmc for me either, there’s not a lot it would show really. Lots of talking around each mc, when/how it occurred, cycles, anything else on my mind, any other illnesses etc, any questions I had, then sent to give blood, about 12 vials for all the tests, then scheduled a non pregnant scan to check uterus health, position, no unusual growths etc. All results came back together after about 6-8 weeks. Don’t be worried, it’s a positive step and they are specialists x

@bobo so glad it’s going well for you :)

@myheart agree with the others, phone gp and make a complaint. Even if they can’t see you till 5 w they could at least reassure and book you in. Gp will sort it I’m sure.

TinyPaws · 30/04/2019 20:46

So I went to consultation at a different fertility clinic today. They recommended medicated FET with clexane and prednisolone. I'd previously pushed for prednisolone but my suggestion was poo-pooed by both my previous IVF clinic and the recurrent miscarriage clinic. After spending so much time fighting medical professionals it's weird to have one recommend everything I was wondering about and explain the pros and cons of different treatments and investigations to us so clearly. Treatment at this clinic costs a small fortune but we're impressed and seriously considering it. Got 2 more clinic visits booked in over the next 2 weeks.

AliceRR · 30/04/2019 21:40

@KnitKitty 😂 I will keep testing this month but think I might already be out of my fertile window (which would be fine) so don’t need to think about it for a bit but then think I will try to at least seem relaxed about it and try to initiate dtd around my fertile times of the month

@Yukka I think I had clearly / watery cm around that time

@bobo pleased things are going well for you

@TinyPaws sounds like a positive appointment even if not a little frustrating you didn’t get that sooner

InDreamland · 30/04/2019 21:44

Thanks @boboelephant, glad to hear your twins are doing well.

@AliceRR fx you're still in with a chance this cycle. Keep testing too.

@TinyPaws sounds like really positive stuff and like some progress is being made on the treatment front.

@Russkispy how are you doing?

Also wondering how @RedRobin7 is doing as not heard from you on here for a while. Hope you're okay x

Mistymeow · 01/05/2019 09:45

@lilimum6 I think the chart looks ok, still above coverline. I also have some wacky peaks in my chart this month, largely down to hormones regulating (I'm assuming). When is your appointment? Mine isn't until July so I'll be very interested to hear how you get on. You will be fine, they will take really good care of you and do all they can :)
@boboelephant what lovely news! You must be so pleased and relieved. Do you think you will start enjoying the pregnancy? How are you coping emotionally?
@myheart totally agree with the others. Hope you manage to get a referral to EPU. Ridiculous, you are 4 weeks pregnant if you ovulated two weeks ago.
@frillyfarmer how are you getting on?
@tinypaws the new fertility clinic sounds really promising, hopefully you can get things moving soon.

VenusStarr · 01/05/2019 10:25

Hi all, struggling to keep up but I am still reading.

Think my first period after the miscarriage is starting, 2 days after my usual cycle day which I guess is a positive that things are hopefully settling down quickly. Was at the GP yesterday as was feeling very dizzy and sick and my BP was high. He felt it was to do with impending af. Woken with awful cramps but the dizziness and sickness have subsided. Slow start to af but think it's picking up now. Quite emotional, it's horrible having a physical reminder you're no longer pregnant 😔

Got our first fertility clinic appointment next Tuesday. Feeling anxious they'll just send us off to keep trying. Don't think I can face another 16 months.

I also just got baby bombed as I walked into work 😥 colleague told me to give me hope I think but I've just come to my office and had a little cry. The world really likes to kick you when you're down doesn't it?

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue hope you get to see the GP and get some support. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Russkispy · 01/05/2019 10:35

Bad news for us today. Had our second scan and it showed no heartbeat. All stopped a day after our first early scan at 7w3d. Absolutely devastated. Having a surgical procedure to remove it all tomorrow morning. We both cried out eyes out. And now just getting loads of cuddles from our little DD who seems more and more precious in these shitty situations like this. It reminds me how lucky we were a couple of years ago and fell pregnant first time with IUI. She's so special I can't describe it.

Daisyboo70 · 01/05/2019 10:40

I had ivf in 2017 which failed, got pregnant naturally in February this year and mc at 7wks. We started trying again straight away and had a faint line this morning 15dpo on a frer. I think I'm going to do another in a few days as I don't believe this one, when I was pg in February it was a ready dark line by this stage.

Bluebelltulip · 01/05/2019 10:46

So sorry to hear that @Russkispy big hugs and hope tomorrow goes as well as it can.

Daisy hope your pregnancy continues well, it's natural to be tentative.

Catconfusion · 01/05/2019 10:46

I didn't want to read and run. I'm so sorry @Russkispy for your devastating news. My heart goes out to you after seeing what a tough journey you've had to then lose in this way. It's so unfair! I'll be thinking of you today and sending you and your family love! Xx

VenusStarr · 01/05/2019 10:52

Oh @Russkispy I am so so sorry 💔 I'm so sad for you. Sending lots of love ❤️❤️ Xx

VenusStarr · 01/05/2019 10:54

Fingers crossed @Daisyboo70 🤞 do you track ovulation? It could be you're slightly later this month. Hope you get positive news.

Thanks for asking after me @Mistymeow I started bleeding this morning at 5+3. I'm at work, I honestly don't know what to do. I've got a tonne of papers to chuck myself into but I don't know whether it's even worth calling the GP at this early stage. I'm fucking angry at my body right now, haven't really processed it yet.

@Russkispy I'm so so sorry, look after yourself xx

Daisyboo70 · 01/05/2019 11:44

@VenusStarr opk and femometer say I ov'd on the 16th, we took clomid day 5-9. I'm hoping it's not a corpus luteum cyst and is genuine but I don't feel the same as I did last time

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 01/05/2019 11:47

@Russkispy I feel heartbroken for you. I'm so sorry that life can be so cruel and fucking unfair!! My DD has always been my strength, our little miracles. Lots of cuddles and keep posting on here. Sending you much love xxx

@frillyfarmer you poor thing. It could all be absolutely fine but I know that feeling of doom. Can you make an excuse and go home if you don't want to be at work? Is it heavy bleeding or just when you wipe?

VenusStarr · 01/05/2019 12:21

I hope this is genuine too @Daisyboo70, do you have any follow up with the doctor about taking the clomid? Are you going to test again tomorrow?

Sorry to hear you're bleeding @frillyfarmer. I probably would contact the GP but totally understand if you don't Flowers

How are you feeling today @MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue?

TinyPaws · 01/05/2019 12:32

@Russkispy I'm so so sorry. Heartbreaking news. Flowers

fnej01 · 01/05/2019 12:49

@Russkispy so very sorry! Thinking of you! So unfair and totally shitty x

Daisyboo70 · 01/05/2019 12:59

@VenusStarr no follow up scheduled I'm going to check again in 2 days if af doesn't show.

Daisyboo70 · 01/05/2019 13:03

@frillyfarmer it happened to me at 5wks in February, I found my gp rubbish and rang the local epu. Unfortunately for me it wasn't good news. But they do say some ladies bleed in early pregnancy. Stay positive and ask you surgery for you local epu number

frillyfarmer · 01/05/2019 13:44

@Daisyboo70 yeah it's following more or less the same pattern as my MC in Jan. I've got a blood test with GP tomorrow and then they will monitor my HCG depending on how the bleeding progresses. At the moment it's more than spotting but nothing like a period, coupled with the dreaded back pain which for me is never good news early on.

I've come home, I was getting emotional and we have clients in the office this afternoon. I'm just so gutted, and I'm terrified there is something wrong with my fucking body. Twice this year and it's only just May. Give me a fucking break.

Bluebelltulip · 01/05/2019 13:53

What is it with unsympathetic medical staff this week. I noticed this weekend that the medication I was taking to help DDs heart was still on my repeat list. I was not expecting it to still be there. Cardiologist took me off it as soon as DD died. I went to GP surgery to get it removed and was told I need a GP appointment, managed to downgrade it to a telephone one. What has really annoyed me is that the receptionist was not sympathetic to my upset at all. I understand she evidently can't do it but she could have been nicer about it.

On the TTC front AF is due somewhere between Friday and Sunday, and IL's are here for the weekend so I think I'm going to test Friday morning so I hopefully don't need to do while they are here.

Mistymeow · 01/05/2019 13:56

@russkispy I am so sorry to read this. I really thought this was it for you. What a rubbish road you've been on. I hope from now on things start to look up, and I'm so glad you have your DD and DH looking after you.
@Daisyboo70 I hope this is your BFP, good luck! The lines can look quite faint early on.
@frillyfarmer oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. You're doing the right thing seeing the GP for blood tests. I really hope its just an irritated cervix and not a miscarriage. I won't say "bleeding can be normal in early pregnancy" because when you've already miscarried you have no faith that any spotting can be "normal". Glad you are at home resting. Please let us know how you're doing.
