TTC after coming off Cerazette

Hi everyone!

Me and my boyfriend have decided to try for a baby. I’ve been on Cerazette for about 8 years with one break a few years back. I stopped taking the mini pill 16 days ago and still no bleed. Usually if I miss 1 day I’ll bleed the following week. I’ve taken a test which came back negative but wondering if it’s too early?
Can anyone else share their experience with coming off cerazette and their first bleed and/or conception please?! I’m desperate to get pregnant!

Thanks in advance

Hayley x

Hello everyone thought I would share my experience after reading some terrible experiences online about coming off Cerazette. I came off at the end of December after being on it for years without ever having any periods. I had a withdrawal bleed after about 3 weeks, then my next cycle was 34 days long, we were then lucky enough to fall pregnant on cycle #2 I was using cheap OPKs to ensure I was ovulating. I am 35 so feeling very lucky and hope you all get your bfps very soon 🤞🏻

tisonlymeagain · 05/04/2019 12:36

Thanks for your positive story @Lozzlepop and congratulations to you!

I assume what I am having is classed as a 'withdrawal bleed' four weeks after stopping Cerazette, but it feels like full-blown AF to me! It's nothing like the 'periods' I've had while on it, this is really heavy like my old periods. I'm pretty sure I ovulated two weeks ago, I know the signs quite well.

@Rosie2531 Fingers crossed, it's all looking good for you. Why not try a ClearBlue on Sunday? Should be definitive by then I would have thought!

Lozzlepop · 05/04/2019 16:11

@tisonlymeagain you are very welcome and thank you so much! Yeah I think the term applies more for users who take the pill for 21 days and then have a break when they bleed. My first one was quite light, thankfully they were nowhere near as bad as periods that I experienced back when I was a teenager before being put on the pill.

amiejb25 · 06/04/2019 03:51

So excited for you all with your BFPs! I’m on cycle 2, I had a withdrawal bleed for around 3 days mid Feb, then AF 28/02 then 30/03 due to O around 11/4 but not yet had a single positive OPK! Just feel like it’s never going to happen really x

xoxhayleyxox · 06/04/2019 07:39

@amiejb25 thank you!! Honestly OPKs can change within hours! I was so disheartened by them until one night at 10pm I got a positive and the next morning it was gone. Seemed to do the trick though! 😂xx

amiejb25 · 06/04/2019 11:03

I love seeing your success stories it gives me hope. I know I don’t post much on here as I work shifts but I follow the thread and get so excited when I hear that it is possible! Going on hols next month so hoping that might do the trick as due to O when I’m away! How are you feeling?? Xx

xoxhayleyxox · 06/04/2019 11:24

@amiejb25 oooh fingers crossed for you!! 🤞🏽well morning sickness seems to have struck me full force today. I've not been able to keep anything down and been sick 3 times. My poor OH made himself some scrambled egg on toast and the sight and smell of it made me sick! 😂😩

Rosie2531 · 06/04/2019 12:07

No change today. I'm going to take a step back as I'm just obsessing and getting my hopes up.

I've bought too many tests and now out other than an NHS one. Will wait another few days and then take that one.

Going to try and stay off the boards and focus on other things 🙄 Doubt that will happen though lol.

@xoxhayleyxox That's amazing though. So pleased for you!

@xoxhayleyxox oh no! Good signs though! Dry toast and ginger biscuits are the way forward! Strangest thing, think I got my first new positive OPK after that comment haha. Maybe my bleed after coming off the pill was AF then? Bloody hormones and cycles driving me crazy!! Do you think this pic looks positiveish? Considering I’ve never had even an evap line!

@rosie2531 the second pic I can definitely see a second line, was that a morning sample? Xx

amiejb25 · 06/04/2019 20:17

Pic here x

Comps83 · 06/04/2019 22:56

Looks good to me

All this DTD has given me a UTI . Bloody hate UTIs. I’d rather have the flu . Came on so suddenly too . I haven’t had one for over 2 years but it’s always been such a battle to get them treated in the past. Sad

xoxhayleyxox · 07/04/2019 13:44

@amiejb25 looks like you're close to getting a positive!! Keep testing xx

xoxhayleyxox · 07/04/2019 13:44

@Rosie2531 what's happening babe? I can deffo see lines on your FRER. What's the game plan? X

Rosie2531 · 07/04/2019 18:41

@xoxhayleyxox I've not done a test today :) waiting a good few days then going to use the GP one I have. It's only 25 hcg so less sensitive than frers. I'm pissing away money though! 😂 so the longer I leave it to test, the less tests I'll buy!

Comps83 · 07/04/2019 22:20

Look what my due date would be if I get a BFP

Hi everyone my AF arrived on Friday 😢 very heavy but no cramps thank god, at least this is the start of a new cycle

tisonlymeagain · 08/04/2019 09:40

Good morning everyone! Well AF has now been and gone so it’s ON now. If I was basing on a regular cycle pre-pill I’d be due to ovulate around 18-20th of April so I am going to start OPKs on Saturday 14th - does that sound about right ladies?

@Byrne123 Sorry to hear AF arrived, but at least you know where you are with things and can reset at zero. Good luck for this cycle.

@Comps83 Ha, perfect. I have a January baby already (though she’s not a baby anymore!) and it’s not an ideal time of year but that’s not going to stop me trying this month!

@xoxhayleyxoxHow are the symptoms?

@rosie2531Have you tested again yet?

@amiejb25 Good luck, I am also away when OV should roll around, also hoping that does the trick!

Sorry to anyone I've missed!

Rosie2531 · 08/04/2019 10:01

Morning ladies!

I haven't tested again, no. Still no af so I'm happy to wait a few more days. I think I'm too terrified to see a stark white negative so would rather wait for a longer length of time. Probably nuts but it makes sense to me. It's still the school holidays for another week so I'll test before going back to work. I'm not drinking and being sensible.

Hope everyone is doing well :)

tisonlymeagain · 08/04/2019 10:12

Amazing self control @Rosie2531! But still looking positive for you with no AF making an appearance yet!

Rosie2531 · 08/04/2019 10:16

@tisonlymeagain That's exactly what I'm thinking! No af means there's a chance so I'm good to go by that for a while.

xoxhayleyxox · 08/04/2019 10:24

@Rosie2531 I showed my mum your tests and she said she can see a line too (coming from the woman who was sceptical about my BFPs 😂) good idea holding out though, it'll only get stronger if so!

xoxhayleyxox · 08/04/2019 11:56

@tisonlymeagain Just morning sickness and tiredness mostly! Morning sickness is pretty bad atm but hoping it'll settle x

Rosie2531 · 08/04/2019 13:24

@xoxhayleyxox Aw, that gives me hope haha! 😂💕 Shame you're feeling sick and I hope it clears up soon!

tisonlymeagain · 09/04/2019 09:07

I am going to remain positive this month. My Glow app said 1.8% chance of pregnancy today haha, and I figured if someone told me I had 1.8% chance of winning the lottery I'd be well happy! Going to start testing with OPKs on CD10 which is Saturday.

Rosie2531 · 09/04/2019 09:10

Took the NHS test today 🙄 it's obviously not as sensitive as a frer (25 vs 10). I'm not convinced by it though as the line showed up and then disappeared. Back to the waiting game. Will buy more frer in Friday. Should've just waited lol!
