Still time kristie, our cycles do change annoyingly after 40 so its normal to be a week or so late, or early, but while o still happens there is a chance.

As for me, 10dpo today and AF is due (following the pattern of the last 4 or 5 cycles) I'm sure it will deliver.

I've figured out (from dr google obvs) that the cause of my short lp is 'weak' ovulation. So basically releasing a shit egg, meaning the body doesn't send out much progesrerone as it doesn't see the point. Which would explain why even after all my many attempts to raise progesterone levels, nothing works. Ho hum.

mellongoose · 03/03/2019 10:19

I find myself tentatively in the TWW. Even saying it feels a bit surreal. I'm still not sure I'm doing the right thing, but the urge to try again is so strong.

If I had been 5 years younger when we lost Lily, I wouldn't be diving in this quickly but I know that every month is precious at this age. Also I hear that women are more fertile after a loss so...

AF due March 16th or thereabouts. I've only had one AF since our loss so I'm not really sure!!!

eloisa246 · 03/03/2019 11:50

Mimosa, I'm taking a break from shatavari as it's a powerful estrogen booster and want to see the difference without it! It's hard to tell with herbs whether they are making a difference or whether our bodies are fluctuating anyway. Since taking it I haven't had any hot flushes or clammy nights during AF..

Rose68 · 03/03/2019 11:53

@Cleo I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you! Hopefully AF will stay away. x

@Mellon yay for being in the tww. I always think about being 5 years younger too... if only!

@KristieP2018 FX you get that peak soon!

I have had really bad thrush since last Sat, it’s almost gone now, but it was horrid 😩

Cleozeta · 03/03/2019 13:33

AF came as predicted. 10dpo

Alibaba2 · 03/03/2019 14:24

Eloisa, do you take Shatavari throughout the cycle or just until ovulation? I have a few tablets left that I thought I might as well use. What dosage do you take?

Chatbash72 · 03/03/2019 15:23

Ooh sending lots of love to you all ladies... @mellongoose you do what feels right for you.. my dearest friend lost her little boy a 4 months.. they went on to have the most gorgeous rainbow baby.. never a replacement because they aren't... fingers crossed for you tww.
Sorry @Cleozeta And @hellenbackagen That af has turned up and for anyone else..
@Cleozeta How many months have you been trying to raise levels? Because it will take at least 3 cycles before they body starts to utilise the supplements etc.. it's a bloody slow process..
yuck poor you @Rose68 With the thrush.. hope clearing up now..
@KristieP2018 Enjoy hubs pretty sure you won't wear him out 🤣
ATM I'm due on in next few days, hubs is being a twat.. no don't sort out the loft above our bedroom as I'm about to go for a sleep Pre night duty.. 🤦‍♀️ I'm tetchy but not sure if hormone or husband related !!

Cleozeta · 03/03/2019 16:50

Chat - been trying to lengthen it for about 4 months. No movement. Going to try clomid in the hope that it may help ms release a stronger egg. I've not had a true positive opk since then either, just darkened. My temps have gone up, so ovulation has happened, it's just crap.

Chatbash72 · 03/03/2019 17:20

@Cleozeta it won't have... you will have only have one month where the things you are trying will have had any effect on the egg..
"It takes 90 days for an egg to fully form, which is why you must adhere diet and lifestyle changes for at least 3 months in order to see any benefits. "
If you then add clomid to the mix you will have to wait at least another 3 months before you see any potential difference to your cycle of egg quality, are bodies aren't instantaneous. It is bloody frustrating but hang in there with what you are doing. I was quite shock when I worked out that I had only been taking ubiquinol for 6 months.. that's 3 months with it perhaps having any benefit to my eggs.. If a lady went to the drs and said she had been trying for only 3 months she would be told to come back later..
You have to have some patience and faith in your body but let it have some time to do what it needs to do... Mature those eggs.. and YES you do have time.. none of us has had a year free of periods so there for non of us has started the menopause.. we all still ovulate so there for we all are still in the race.. we need to relax, stress is NOT our friend... and have sex but not when our opks say just regular sex throughout the month.. if our partners can manage that as I am appreciative of the fact that some can't.. but if you can... do. As we hit our 40s eggs do tend to pop early in the cycle and can catch us out..
Don't give up hope you are doing all the right things but the more you change things around the more you will confuse those ovaries.. sending lots of faith and love to you all xxx

Cleozeta · 03/03/2019 20:56

Thank you chat. It's easy to panic when time is of the essence!

littlemimosa · 03/03/2019 22:33

Cleo and Hellen - so sorry AF arrived. But like Chat says stress is not our friend. I wish I could take that advice more literally!

Mellon - you’re very brave but I think you’re doing the right thing. Tentatively trying sounds good. Hope you’re ok.

Everyone else - thinking of you all. I’m not posting much as I’ve nothing much to say. Still no ovulation at all and just hanging around in limbo land. The GP was useless so I’m just sitting it out. Still having unprotected sex but not enough probably!

Eloisa - I’m at a stage now where I just feel I’ve tried every herb, supplement, tea, food, therapy, exercise etc that I’m over it all. I did try shatavari a while ago and didn’t notice any difference but then I probably wasn’t having these low oestrogen symptoms then. So perhaps it’ll help me more now. Do you think it’s ok to take along side the scrumptious Chinese herbs??

Cleozeta · 03/03/2019 23:07

Mimosa - sorry you are still having a crap time of it amd that your gp was useless. What did they say? Did they offer up any testing?

eloisa246 · 04/03/2019 08:37

Alibaba, I took shatavari through my cycle, x2 capsules daily of the Pukka brand.

Mimosa, it must be so frustrating and depressing not to be able to get to the bottom of what is going on. Maybe talk to your TCM practitioner before adding in anything else.

Onlyinanemergency · 04/03/2019 10:03

Karigan195, thanks for the link. It has given me some hope. My morning sickness and sore boobs are back and I definitely feel pregnant - I know that doesn't mean anything in itself but with no bleeding and no significant pain it isn't bad. I'm just worried not enough will have changed between 5 week scan and 6 week scan. I read on the NHS site that at this stage in pregnancy a week isn't long enough to give them accurate information and may result in a 2% error rate, in that 2% of the time they diagnose non viable when in fact the pregnancy probably is viable. Do you think I should try to insist on scanning again at 7 weeks? I'm lucky in that it's quite a large hospital but usually not too busy.

Karigan195 · 04/03/2019 10:10

I think I’d insist. I wouldn’t be giving up until they are totally sure!

Onlyinanemergency · 04/03/2019 10:14

Thanks. I think realistically if this pregnancy doesn't stick I'm not going to try again. So this is a one shot deal. I already have 2 DC so I'm very lucky but I need to know for sure this is non viable. My concern is that if it's not viable I would want the surgical option so the idea I would opt for that and be in the 2% is really worrying.

Hobbes39 · 04/03/2019 10:16

Hi @Onlyinanemergency - having been in your situation, our hospital were v good in erring on the side of caution, which in my case ended up drawing out the inevitable, but it did also make it easier to accept. I think if your 6w scan is inconclusive then yes, I'd say you want to wait as there is still that chance. They can't (nor would I expect would want to) force you to have the op or the medication unless they thought it was ectopic, which is doesn't seem to be. So if you have any doubts about it after your next scan, then I'm sure they will be happy to rescan you in a week or let nature ale its course if it's bad. Good luck x

Onlyinanemergency · 04/03/2019 10:25

Thank Hobbes39. Obviously if there has been no change at all over the week I will have to accept that it's bad news. It's just that if they can now definitely see a yolk sac but still don't see a fetal pole, I'd like to wait.

Cleozeta · 04/03/2019 10:49

From my experience they like to be over cautious and will prefer you to take nature's route as preference, unless it's very clearly non viable. They don't like to take chances. If they are unsure they'll probably scan you weekly until they are

Megan2018 · 04/03/2019 11:53

Had my 12 wk scan today, dates moved on to 12+4. All good, very active baby girl. So unbelievably relieved and thanking my lucky stars right now. Long way to go but feeling excited now. Good luck everyone, it is such a rollercoaster.

Over 40 TTC - lots of baby dust for us...2!
Russkispy · 04/03/2019 16:28

Had my 3rd scan today and it wasn't that straight forward. Follicles grow a bit too slow and have to carry on with stimulation and Cetrotide for 2 more days, trigger on Wednesday and egg collection on Friday morning. Trying not to think about anything really and take a day as it comes.
@Megan2018 that's a lovely picture! Glad all is going well!
How's everyone else doing?

Cleozeta · 04/03/2019 16:49

Congrats Megan, so pleased things are looking good.

Russkispy - Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

BooseysMom · 04/03/2019 19:59

Congratulations Megan.. love the photo of your little bean. Reminds me of mine 5 years ago! x

mellongoose · 04/03/2019 20:55

Beautiful picture @Megan2018

KristieP2018 · 05/03/2019 06:29
