Oh ..here's my scan photos..now don't get excited everyone as these are 5 years old!! They are DS. I just wanted to post them in case I never have another and I wasn't on mumsnet when I first was ttc. The first one is at 12 weeks and is like a tiny bean! The one with My Tiny Miracle is about 4 months and is my favourite. The other one is about 6 weeks before he was born! How the time flies. Thanks for letting me post these Smile xx

BooseysMom · 28/02/2019 08:29

Thanks Karigan.💕

Where's the H gone at the start of my sentence?! It says 'ere's my scan photos!!'

Realitysucks · 28/02/2019 08:56

Yes AF deifnilty here going to ring clinic now to book scan and bloods 😞

hellenbackagen · 28/02/2019 10:40

I'm out ☹️ knew it really . Still no idea where that test is tho...

hellenbackagen · 28/02/2019 14:02

Well I just googled my chances. I think I need to save my money and stop buying ovulation tests. I could book more facials and nail appointments instead.

mellongoose · 28/02/2019 15:54

Lovely scan pics @BooseysMom

Sorry you're out @hellenbackagen

I'm tentatively going to start trying again this month. It may all come to nothing. It feels strange. As though I'm trying to replace Lily. I'm not. But I do feel like I'd still like to carry another healthy baby to term.

Gizmojo · 28/02/2019 20:10

@mellongoose It’s totally not trying to replace Lily, it’s trying for a new baby and if that’s what you feel and you’re ready then absolutely go for it. We never forget the ones we’ve lost, no matter how many we have ❤️ Wishing you all the luck and sending big hugs.

Hello to everyone else, congrats on bfps and thanks for the photos, they really do give me hope. Boosey, your scan photos are adorable!

Afm, we’re paying for some tests as I’m still concerned about the night sweats (now only during LP and AF) and just want to see where we are. I picked up a leaflet about ivf costs. OH isn’t keen at all as reckons the chances are even lower at our age but I don’t know. I don’t even understand the difference between that and ICSI/which would be better at our age but the clock is ticking down to me turning 45 and I feel like we need to consider other options... The offer is two cycles with unlimited embryo transfer for two years. Does that mean they do two cycles of collecting eggs and trying to fertilise them, then transfer what (if anything) they get for x months until 2 years is up?

Rose68 · 01/03/2019 10:13

@Mellongoose great news that you are ready to start trying, FX that you fall quickly. I understand the guilty feeling that you are trying to replace Lily, but you really aren’t. She will always be with you.

@Gizmojo sorry, I don’t know much about ivf, but what you said seems to make sense to me.

Onlyinanemergency · 01/03/2019 11:36

Well I had an early scan and it's looking like it's non-viable. The technician dated the pregnancy at 5 weeks 2 days but could only see the gestational sac. While in know that's not bad news in itself, my hcg levels were over 7,700. Apparently with levels that high you would definitely see a yolk sac and fetal pole in a viable pregnancy. I'm going back next week for a scan to confirm and discuss my options. Feeling very low - not sure I'll try again after this.

Karigan195 · 01/03/2019 11:58

I’ve seen a few posts saying similar on the pregnancy board with a lot it was just the scan was too early. With decent hcg etc it may be the same. Crossing fingers for you

Hobbes39 · 01/03/2019 12:13

@Onlyinanemergency - I have had scans like that that didn't turn out well, but in the time between first scan and later scan I read a LOT of stories about people having the same
Thing and it all being ok.
I was wondering - I know it's rare, but is it possible you've had a 'vanishing twin'? Would explain high HCG and the fact that your lines were darker then you had a blip..? How far on did you think you were? Are you going back for another scan soon? Good luck x

Onlyinanemergency · 01/03/2019 12:31

I thought I was about 5 weeks, and the technician said the pregnancy is measuring 5+2. So I know there will be plenty of people who had scans at that stage and didn't see much, but it's the combination of only seeing a gestational sac and high Hcg levels that's the issue. I have another scan on Wednesday. I just wish I knew now, one way or another. That little glimmer of hope is awful. Thanks for the support.

Hobbes39 · 01/03/2019 12:53

Honestly @Onlyinanemergency - at 5 weeks it's v unusual to see much - I still have hope for you. You may just be a person that has high HCG...
Good luck for Wednesday xx

OP posts:
Onlyinanemergency · 01/03/2019 12:59

Thanks. I do get that it's not unusual to not see much at 5 weeks but it's because the hCG levels are out with the normal range. Apparently there is a correlation between hCG levels and what you should expect to see on a scan regardless of dates. I still have some hope too, but it's the hope that's killing me!

Russkispy · 01/03/2019 13:02

@Onlyinanemergency hope the next scan shows the little bean!
AFM, Just had my second scan and there are 4 additional follicles on the left, to make the total of 14 from both ovaries. Quite chuffed with myself as in December we only had 7. I know it's not about quantity but quality, but just want a backup of at least 1 to freeze. The more the better really! Endometrium has thickened up nicely too. Last scan on Monday. In the meantime remaining calm and collected

Karigan195 · 01/03/2019 13:08

@Only

Read this lot. It’s really really common. Keep positive until you actually have it confirmed. I read an article the other day criticising Drs for carrying out d&cs innthese circs far too early because not every baby has read the manual. Trying to find it for you

Cleozeta · 01/03/2019 13:23

Fingers crossed all is ok for you onlyinanemergency.

Good luck this cycle russkispy, all sounding good so far!

I have a friend IRL who I have just found out is expecting, her 12 week scan went very well, she's 42, same as me. All natural. Hope is not lost yet!

BooseysMom · 01/03/2019 15:07

Helle..Sorry AF struck. Did the run away test ever turn up?!

Mellon.. thank you for your msg about my scan photos. We always wondered whether we should have paid £200 to have 3D ones done but couldn't afford it. The normal photos you get are sweet though.
So happy to hear you are going to try again..wishing you so much luck & baby dust xx

Gizmojo..thank you for your msg about my scan photos x

Russ.. that sounds really promising. Good luck x

onlyinanemergency.. thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for Wednesday x

minime2017 · 01/03/2019 19:55

Cleo I love that news, seeing Im approaching 42. Ive had a week of symptoms but thats my new norm now. About 9dpo now but could be 11. Getting bfns and my rhr dropped this morning, in its usual pre af pattern so logically know its another wasted month. However, the nausea, headaches, sore boobs and sour taste are symptoms which are keeping the hope (foolishly) alive.

KristieP2018 · 02/03/2019 06:34

Thinking of you Only! Hope everything turns out ok.

I’m getting very frustrated with day 6 of flashing smiley on my CB Opks! I have cheapie ones too and there’s nothing there. Worried this will be a no go cycle. Poor hubby is getting worn out lol.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Happy Saturday!

Cleozeta · 02/03/2019 07:35

Minime - fingers crossed for you! I watch my rhr too, it usually drops for around 3-5 days before AF lands, except last cycle where is stayed up until the end. We didn't even dtd last cycle, so now can't rely on that. Nothing stays predictable any more!

Kristie - hope you get your solid soon! What cd are you?

hellenbackagen · 02/03/2019 18:31

Good luck only fingers crossed it's a blip...

Thanks booseysmum ....think I'm just too late now, that test never did turn up.

kristie I gave up this cycle for same reason! (Not that dp complains too much GrinWink)

hellenbackagen · 02/03/2019 18:32

Anyone heard anything from sparrow. ?

I do think about her often

KristieP2018 · 02/03/2019 21:25

Cleo only cd 15 so I have time just worries me the older I get. I always ovulated on cd 12 and there’s not even a little bit of cm or pain that makes me think it’s coming. I’ve actually had af cramps all week. Not sure what’s up. Hopefully soon
