Hi, I've been lurking for a while since my cp last month. CD28 today and af has arrived. I'm gutted. I'd read you are more fertile after cp. I really thought I'd get a positive this time. It's only cycle 2 of trying so I know I should be patient but it's consuming me and now making me so anxious. I wanted to start ttc last year but financially we needed to be certain of a few things first. That all fell into place in December and we started to try. I feel I may have left it too late.

@SparrowSG lots of love to you xxx

mellongoose · 20/02/2019 19:45

My heart goes out to you @SparrowSG. I will be thinking of you on Friday.

hellenbackagen · 20/02/2019 23:20

well im 47 on monday.

i feel so foolish really, its so unlikely now. yet i have 0 menopausal symptoms and i have a regular cycle. i think i am still ovulating but ill test that theory out with clearblue digital opks next cycle.

i dont know why im even calling this trying anymore really - its just contraceptive free sex really. which is nice. but....Sad

Chatbash72 · 21/02/2019 07:26

Welcome @CowGurl so sorry for your loss..
@SparrowSG ooh no that's awful so sorry to hear this... sending lots of love
@hellenbackagen I'm 46 and we are in the non contraceptive sex zone.. just trying to take full advantage of it..

anaconda76 · 21/02/2019 08:38

Thinking of you, @Sparrow. We're all here for you and because so many of us have been through the same thing, or similar, we know what you're going through right now. When I had my mmc and mc I felt so lonely. I hope this thread is a comfort at this heartbreaking time. x

BooseysMom · 21/02/2019 08:44

@hellenbackagen.. i was 47 on Sunday and like you have only occasional menopausal symptoms and any I do get are in the week before AF. I'm resigned to it not happening now but like you just don't use contraception. I know there are cases of women falling pregnant naturally at 47, 48, 49 and even 50! You just never know while AF comes Grin

Russkispy · 21/02/2019 09:30

Woke up to a gush of blood! Came from nowhere! Like AF bleed. I'm not in pain or cramps. Still feeling queasy. Yesterday I was so tired but wasn't feel nauseous. I'm not sure what to make of it as it's a completely unknown territory and I'm not connected/tuned to it. Feeling weird. Impartial, emotionally. Hard to describe, ladies. My doc told me to take progesterone right now and evening. And still go for HCG and progesterone blood tests tomorrow and I will. I'm not seeking answers. Tests will give me some answers. And will take it from there. Other than that I'm ok. I'm not consulting Dr Google nor am I taking FRER. What will be will be. I always have a plan B. My IVF drugs are in the fridge. Time will tell.

Chatbash72 · 21/02/2019 09:44

Sending big hugs.. for some bleeding is normal.. a dear friend had big bleeds throughout her preg and all was well.. rest up today.. xxxx

CowGurl · 21/02/2019 09:55

Thanks for the welcome, ladies.

More hugs here @russkispy! Bleeding can happen for a number of reasons.

Thought I'd share some over 40 pregnancy stories ... I have one friend who is 42 and pregnant naturally with her second, first was born when she was 40. Had a couple of miscarriages between the two but got there. Another is pregnant at 45, through IVF (after quite a few cycles) but with her own eggs. Super excited for her!

xx

Cleozeta · 21/02/2019 09:57

Hope all ok russkispy, you have a good attitude towards it. I have all fingers & toes crossed that tests still come back good

Cleozeta · 21/02/2019 10:05

Thanks for the positive stories cowgurl!

I am still having shenanigans with my clinic. I keep getting batted about between several people when I call up. They are all very nice and trying to be helpful but I've been batted around so many times I still have no idea what is going on or weather they can do anything to help. The last call I had was them telling me I could make an appointment with a consultant gynecologist, but then on calling and trying to make the appointment we were told we couldn't without a doctor's plan. So called back and they again - on the instruction of the doctor - said we could call and make the gyn appointment so I told them we tried and couldn't, so she said she would get them to call me back. This was Tuesday. Still waiting. Fed up of it now!

Cleozeta · 21/02/2019 10:08

And on another note, my ovulation seems to be getting really crap. I've not had a proper positive on an opk for a few months now, the line has got darker but not quite aa dark as control, and cbfm has not gone beyond 'high'. Temps have risen slowly and then af has come 9 days later. Think it's all going to pot.

I wonder if thats why the clinic don't want to help. Maybe there really is just nothing they can do.

CookieWaffle · 21/02/2019 12:48

Hey ladies, I'm just checking back on my previous threads to see how everyone is doing. @Russkispy that must've been a bit of a surprise, hope all is ok xx

Just came back from my 16 week and all seems to be going ok at the moment, heartbeat is good and strong, of course I still worry. Keep the faith ladies xx

Lexilooo · 21/02/2019 14:00

Oh FFS a work colleague has just confided in me that she is pregnant. Can't tell anyone else at work as it is early days.

It is a happy accident with inconvenient timing for her, and I am pleased for her BUT.....

I'm already sitting with one pregnant colleague and I am not sure I can hack another. Feeling unreasonably gutted as I was harbouring hopes of being next. And the office is just so full of pregnant people

Chatbash72 · 21/02/2019 14:07

Ooh @Lexilooo I'm gutted for you... it's so hard to smile sweetly on the outside but inside you're screaming "why not me" it's not fair.. sending big big hugs...

Lexilooo · 21/02/2019 14:12

Thanks, I am actually struggling to concentrate on work now. Might have to go to the toilet and have a word with myself.

hellenbackagen · 21/02/2019 14:25

Hugs lexi

Cd 20 here and getting familiar signs for the week before af showing up.

Crampy tummy, slightly achey boobs but not achey enough to be anything more
I don't bother testing anymore because it has now become a forgone conclusion.

Lexilooo · 21/02/2019 15:28

Thanks Hellenback I'm CD28 today but not due for a few more days so I guess I'm not out yet this month but I am not confident we got our timing right this month so trying not to get my hopes up.
