Ladies, can I ask your advice please? I need to take some antibiotics (non urgent) and was wondering when to best take them for least chance of screwing up my cycle? I am due to ovulate in the next few days, but wary of starting them now incase they halt proceedings, so I was thinking of waiting until after ov, but are they safe to take in the 2ww? What would you do?

littlemimosa · 15/03/2019 19:10

Cleo - really sorry but can’t advise you on that really. Maybe ask your TCM guy?

Hobbes39 · 15/03/2019 19:20

@Cleozeta - I'm not sure tbh - but I'd probably check with my gp (or whoever prescribed the antibiotics) if they were ok to be taken with pregnancy - as I know some are / some aren't and if they are ok with pregnancy I'd expect them to be ok with ttc? X

@Cleozeta what antibiotics are they? When I had some they said take now not in tww as they don’t affect ovulation but not ideal to take in tww mine we’re doxycycline. However they must be ok as clinic prescribed me 8 days after EC and I’m having transfer tomorrow !

Cleozeta · 15/03/2019 21:09

Its fluxlocacilin (or something like that)

mellongoose · 16/03/2019 10:21

Morning ladies.

Welcome new ladies. Sorry to hear of your difficulties. This is such a supportive thread and I can't thank these girls enough for their kind words to me earlier in the year.

@Realitysucks good news. I've got everything crossed.

@Hobbes39 beautiful photos. Your little babies are warming my heart.

@BooseysMom sorry to hear AF came again and it made you feel shitty. It is shitty.

I am cd28 today. Approximately 14dpo (don't know for sure). I had crampy twinges on 11dpo. AF is due today. I'm not sure if I've had PMT symptoms or not. This would only be my second AF since our TFMR so don't know if my body has properly settled down yet.

It is possible that I might get a BFP but I'm not testing until next weekend. When I fell pregnant last September, my previous cycle had been 35 days....I'm normally 28 or 29. I'm feeling a bit twingy today and tired so will wait and see!

Realitysucks · 16/03/2019 11:03

So two little embryos safely inside! Both grade 1 🥰

mellongoose · 16/03/2019 11:40

Fantastic!! Now get cooking 😌

tisonlymeagain · 16/03/2019 12:31

Hi all Smile I am new to this thread. Not quite 40 but will be later this year. I'm not TTC yet - me and my DP are currently trying to decide whether it's something we really want to do or whether one of us should get sterilised Shock So opposite ends of the spectrum. It's so hard to decide, it's sending me potty. Being almost 40 I keep wondering if it's just too late for us? We both have children from previous relationships.

I know nobody can help with this dilemma but I wondered, those of you currently TTC at 40 and over, was it a difficult decision for you to go for it?

I don't know why I'm finding it so hard, I'd love to have a baby with DP Confused

CateyA · 16/03/2019 12:39

Hi All

Me again! I joined the thread awhile ago then life got in the way and it seemed impossible to really ttc due to multiple stressors so deleted my account in frustration.

Back now on tww and after finally having been able to have time to do the deed in my fertile window. Cos it’s our first actually proper try I’m daftly excited to test next week but know my chances are v low.

How’s everyone?
Xx

Samk79 · 16/03/2019 13:21

@tisonlymeagain
I'm also 40 this year. I have two children from a previous marriage. My partner doesn't have any. We decided to try and see what happens. I got my bfp at the end of jan, unfortunately I found out on Thursday there was an empty pregnancy sac so looks like a missed miscarriage.
We have both said we will leave things a few months but I do think I will want to try again x

tisonlymeagain · 16/03/2019 13:40

Samk79 I'm so sorry to hear that, that must have been so upsetting for you. I hope that if you try again it works out for you.

I've just come off the pill, I've heard it can take a while to get back to normal so might let that settle down before we make any decisions.

hellenbackagen · 16/03/2019 15:28

Still loosely here ladies
Good luck reality everything crossed! 🤞

Lovely pics hobbes

I was meant to use opk again this month but I missed my starting day and then lost interest. According to Ovia (which I don't think is massively reliable) I'm in fertile window (as fertile as a 47 year old gets I guess)
Dtd a good 4 times but now got some horrible d@v bug so that's that!
im laid in bed feeling sorry for myself.I wish I could go down the ivf route with donor eggs - mine must be totally past it by now. Anyway got a night away planned for dp birthday next week so will try to enjoy that.
Good luck all , love reading the success stories.

Hugs to all the rest 💐

Cleozeta · 16/03/2019 15:55

Hope everyone is well today?

So I think I am due to ovulate. Got the nearest I have got to a +opk in months, usually these days opk's get darker but never as dark as control line and cbfm only ever gets high, never peak. So this months line was definitely as dark as control, which is better than usual, but still no peak. I definitely ovulate as temps go up but I think ovulation is just crap, hence the no peak and the short lp.
On monday I am back at the clinic begging for some kind of assistance.
Let's do a fun bet on how many times the dr says the word 'age' during the consultation.
I'll put the first bet down at 20 times.

Realitysucks · 16/03/2019 17:07

Aww @Cleozeta I really feel for you. But seriously don’t be put off! It makes me so blooming angry when I’ve got friends the same as you. I would not leave till they did something !

Cleozeta · 16/03/2019 20:10

I hate the fact that it's the one thing we can do nothing about

CritterTamer · 16/03/2019 20:44

Hi all

Just catching up after some time away. Congrats to all the BFPs and lovely scans, welcome to all the newbies and good luck to those doing/starting IVF and in their TWW! (Sorry I'm too far behind to mention everyone by name!)

I had a 4D scan today (I'm 26 weeks) and have some amazing photos to share - I know you ladies all love a good scan pic so I'll post a couple for you to see 😊

CritterTamer · 16/03/2019 20:45

One more - annoyingly it will only let me attach one at a time.

Over 40 TTC - lots of baby dust for us...2!
Realitysucks · 16/03/2019 20:54

@CritterTamer OMG they are amazing!! I’m need to keep busy on my tww so off to buy a house tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣🤣

CritterTamer · 16/03/2019 20:58

Well that's one way of passing the time.... Smile

Hobbes39 · 16/03/2019 21:00

@Realitysucks - two top grade?! Ace! That's fabulous - good luck with your tww! I'll keep everything crossed.
@CritterTamer - those pics are amazing! It's so surreal how detailed they are - the 3d view they showed of ours just made them look like little aliens! 😂 I find seeing all the lumps and bumps of my insides v odd!
How you feeling? X

OP posts:
CritterTamer · 16/03/2019 21:18

@Hobbes39 - I'm full of yet another stinking cold, but OK apart from that 😊 I think 26 weeks is the absolute earliest they recommend having a 4D scan as any earlier and they do tend to look like weird aliens and freak people out! My clinic will only do them at 26-28 weeks for multiple pregnancies and 30 - 32 weeks for singletons.

Realitysucks · 16/03/2019 22:28

@Hobbes39 I am not sure how I’m gonna keep saine over the next two weeks! They initially said to test on 30th but as a Saturday now saying 29th. It feels a long long way off!

Russkispy · 16/03/2019 22:49

@CritterTamer beautiful pictures!
@Realitysucks fantastic result! Fingers crossed!
