@Realitysucks - taking those eggs that are there now will def not have an adverse effect good forward. They would just go to waste if they weren't collected. My understanding is that every month in a natural cycle you have your certain number of follicles and the lead one releases it's egg, the others never do, (or sometimes in some people they will release more than one!). So in a natural cycle those follicles would never get to release their eggs... so that's where IVF gives you an edge. I may have totally misunderstood, but that's what I have been believing! Good luck. It is horribly stressful and the financial side of things makes me want to weep sometimes... will keep everything crossed for you xx

Congratulations @Marty77!

@Russkispy that sounds very promising!

littlemimosa · 12/03/2019 09:30

Marty - congratulations!!

Russ - such great news. Everything crossed for you and those little embryos.

Reality- I echo what everysays. I’d go ahead. It’s great that you’ve got 2/3 there. They’d go to waste if you don’t. Good luck hun.

Deb - welcome and I wanna also add that although there are a few of us been on here too long and that we have a moan from time to time, this has been a lucky thread and loads of us have ended up pregnant. Don’t stress before you even start, trust me it’s the worst thing you could do.

Cleo - speaking of stress, that is sooooo interesting to me what you said about you period of epic stress and how it affected your cycles badly. I’m convinced my reproductive system is shutting off for the same. What did you do to stop the stress cycle? How did you get things back on track?

Cleozeta · 12/03/2019 09:52

Congrats marty!

Russkispy - sounds promising, fingers crossed!

Mimosa - I gave up driving, so in effect, removed the stress factor. I hadn't pieced it together at the time, but looking back it does fit with that.
Are you able to remove your stress factor? I'm certain it does have an impact.

littlemimosa · 12/03/2019 10:07

Cleo - morning hun. I’m working on it. I can’t remove it completely in the way you did but I’m doing things about it. I’m also trying to look after myself a bit better as I’ve realised how much I just run around looking after everyone else. Some days I’m like a flippin headless chicken rushing from here to there in a sort of fight or flight mode. I’ve committed to meditation, Epsom salt baths, more yoga, sleeping more and saying no to stuff more. I’m getting DH to help me out more with things that have just slowly over time become my responsibility for no obvious reason. I’m also attempting to stop focusing so much on ttc by cutting back on the millions of supplements I was using! That was annoying me at every mealtime lol. They’ve not made any difference to me either. Who knows if it’ll all make a difference or if it’s just my age. Time will tell. I’m also just de stressing for my sanity! How are you?

Cleozeta · 12/03/2019 11:14

I think having a destress can only be bebeficial! Like a declutter of the brain. Nice.
What suppliments are you giving up? I take so many at the moment it's rediculous, but I'm too scared to stop any of them in case it all goes wrong!
I'm ok thank you, currently plodding along waiting for ov. Cd10 at the moment, so could be any time in the next week. Starting to get a bit fed up of the whole thing tbh, been over 2 years now!

Rose68 · 12/03/2019 11:53

@Littlemimosa I know I still need to pm you, will do that shortly.

I think stress is such a big thing, in the past I have been quite stressed just keeping on top of every day life. DH is away quite a lot with work and I wouldn’t cope that well. So we decided I would stop working to remove the stress. That was 2 years ago and pretty much coincided with me wanting another baby. I then spent nearly 18 months trying to convince DH to try, which took us to August last year.
I have felt a lot calmer in the last few months & I think it’s the acupuncture and possibly dhea that has had that effect. Our house is now on the market which is quite a big thing for me cause as soon as I tried to think about moving before my stress levels would go through the roof.
I did end up on citalopram a few years ago for anxiety.

@Cleo I am also scared to stop the supplements, although I think I am going to stop taking cassanovum.

littlemimosa · 12/03/2019 18:36

Rose - you sound as if you’re really sensitive to stress (who isn’t!) but it’s good to hear that you’ve got on top of it. I’ve been reading up a lot about stress and it’s effects (there are so many research papers and studies out there on the subject!) on fertility and it can apparently actually shut down your reproductive hormones. Since your body uses other hormones during periods of high stress and anxiety, the reproductive hormones- which are not essential to keeping you alive- just get de-prioritized (is that a word?!) and in extreme cases shut off altogether. Your brain either reduces production of them (cue hormonal imbalance) or completely stops producing them (cue amenhorea). It goes ‘uh oh this is a BAD time to reproduce’. This is me I think.

Cleo - I’m now just taking B vits and ubiquinol but I’m even doing that one every other day. I can understand why you’d be reluctant to stop but for me my cycles are messed up anyway so I’ve nothing to lose. I’m still drinking the yummy tea thoughBrew cheers! Ack.

Cleozeta · 12/03/2019 18:40

Mimosa - what does your TCM person have to say about your cycles? Do thet have any advice?

littlemimosa · 12/03/2019 18:41

Oh and I’m with you on the fed up thing. I’m the same. I’m so over it (without stopping the unprotected sex). I’ve tied myself in knots over it and it’s got me nowhere so I’m just going to spend some time chilling and destressing. In the hope that my cycles come back to normal but also mainly for my sanity!!

littlemimosa · 12/03/2019 18:46

He looked a bit perplexed to be honest. He said something about my reproductive system working at only 75% of what it was but he had no actual answers for why my cycles are so rubbish lately. I’ve probably not been honest with him about how stressed I’ve been so I need to talk to him about that then maybe he can treat me accordingly. Oh he did say I was ‘Yin Deficient’ and made me up a tea for it. It shows as low oestrogen but in Chinese medicine is something else. Kidney related or something. He said to do yoga too and stretch every day. What does yours say?

Rose68 · 12/03/2019 18:49

@Little did you conceive your 2 DC without too many problems? You could find that when you give up is when you will conceive.

Rose68 · 12/03/2019 18:51

I have an appointment booked with a chinease acupuncturist tomorrow, and one with my regular guy on Thursday. So this is going to be a bloody expensive week if I’m too much of a chicken to get out of one of them 😩

Hobbes39 · 12/03/2019 19:10

@Rose68 & @littlemimosa - I've been reading your posts about stress and I feel for you both. I think one thing that is so flipping hard about ttc is that knowing that stressing isn't good for your chances is stressful in itself and therefore it's a vicious circle. I used to hate people who haven't struggled with getting pregnant saying remarks like - 'just relax and it will happen' it's easy to say; not so easy to do!
I do suspect there could be something in it in some ways tho, much as it pains me to admit. While getting pregnant with my DS was easy in comparison with now, it took 11 months and actually happened the month I quit my stressful job to become self employed!
And this time - 4 years of trying later, I had started to give away some baby stuff and I bought some expensive new running shoes to give me something else to focus on if it hadn't worked... and so far so good, but obv there's a way to go yet. So, I think stress can have an impact, but then how on earth we de-stress when in the situation where desperately ttc is anyone's guess! X

Thank you everyone I've got Spidey Senses I can smell everything so tired x

We worked it out that we probably conceived on 16th or 23rd the 16th was the night we got engaged!

The test says 2-3 weeks but if my last period was 8th Feb means I'm 5 weeks or is it was I've caught later in the month? X

Hope everyone is well

Annie078 · 12/03/2019 19:43

Yay! Congrats @marty77

BooseysMom · 12/03/2019 19:56

@Marty77.. Wow that's fantastic news! Congratulations Flowers

Still no AF here. Beginning to wonder as she's been early the last few cycles Confused

Cleozeta · 12/03/2019 21:27

Mimosa - my TCM guy has not said too much lately. Last time was honest and said that my short LP may be due to running out of eggs. He's been trying various things to lengthen it but nothing has worked.
