Any 20s TTC first baby? :)

Hello!

I've just turned 24 and me and husband have just started TTC first baby. Thought that it would be good to have a thread going with a few people in a similar situation! Very few of my friends are in the same situation as we got married early and now thinking of babies whilst lots of friends are still at uni :)

Anyone one to join a group discussion with how things are going?

@Wishtobeamamma wishing you all the luck in the world! Try not to let ttc consume your life like it does most of ours 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Hey everyone,

Just realised I don't think I'm getting email notifications for this thread at the moment which is why I haven't been on here for ages!

I feel like we timed things quite well this month but who knows?! I am in the tww at the moment and have had very light cramps (probably unnoticeable if I wasn't so in tune with my body!) it's probably just PMS but so frustrating that symptoms can be so similar.

I also have really sore boobs but I get that pretty much as soon as I have ovulated every month (adding to the confusing symptoms!)

Does anyone else get sore boobs with ovulation? Sore for about 2 weeks of the month ...

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Can anyone help if this is a positive ovulation?

@pinksunset1 I would say the lines look pretty much the same colour so yes, are you having any symptoms of O? What do you think of mine from yesterday, hoping I get a stronger second line today! Cycle 2 now girls and feeling optimistic and getting O symptoms as well x

@Pinksunset1 I'd say that's a positive!

Looks like a standard negative to me, but hopefully getting stronger soon!@amiejb25

Hello - I hope everyone's having a good weekend! Smile

I'm 27 and DH is 28 - we're also TTC for our first. We finally found out we were pregnant in February after 6 months of trying, but this resulted in a MC at nearly 6 weeks along. Sad

I've had a normal AF since the MC and we feel ready to start TTC again this month. This time we're armed with Pregnacare, which might not make a difference (besides fluorescent yellow FMU Hmm), but it makes me feel like we're doing something to help...

I have a question re OPKs:

I had a negative OPK yesterday afternoon. My BBT was a little higher this morning so I did another OPK (about 11am - not FMU) which was positive and we DTD straight away. But I've done another OPK this afternoon (about 4pm) and it's already negative! Is this normal? Felt a little caught off guard as I wasn't expecting to ovulate for at least another couple of days yet, so we haven't DTD before today and now I'm worried we've missed our chance this month. Are we too late or are we in with a chance if we keep DTD later today and over the next couple of days?

IMO yours looks positive @Pinksunset1 and yours looks negative (for now) @amiejb25 - hope it's darkened up for you today! Smile

@amiej 25 I have had discharge last couple of days and feel my breast feel bigger today I struggle to work my ovulation out as I have such long irregular AF. I think yours a negative chick but no harm in keeping trying good luck I’m on cycle 4 x

@jadeSB thank you x

@littlelemur thank you I’m sorry to hear of you miscarriage and wishing you luck x

@Pinksunset1 thank you - wishing you luck too! Seems we're ovulating around the same time!

@lovesT I only tend to get sore boobs closer to when AF is due - very frustrating when you're hoping for that positive HPT! Got everything crossed for you.

@LittleLemur what brand do you use? I've had that a couple of times where I suddenly ovulated and then get a negative, I suppose as they work through detecting hormones, that if the hormones don't stay in your body for long then you soon get a negative again

@LittleLemur and sorry to hear your news, I had the same in January at 5 weeks pg after 3 months of ttc 💐

Report
LittleLemur · 07/04/2019 17:54

@JadeSB I'm so sorry to hear that - it's completely gutting, isn't it? SadFlowers

I just use the cheap, green test sticks. To be fair, it's probably happened this quickly before - I just I wasn't expecting it today! Grin

@LittleLemur oh right, I used the clear blue ones in the end as I found the cheapies really hard to read, I never seemed to get a proper positive on them so I switched over to the digital ones, but I'm not tracking this month, trying to take the more relaxed approach to limit the stress, and thank you, yes pretty soul destroying, 4 months on and I'm still haunted by it on a daily basis 😔

Report
LittleLemur · 07/04/2019 20:55

@JadeSB I'm glad the ClearBlue ones work for you at least. I've not had problems with the cheapies myself - they always seem to match up to my BBT rises. Will just have to wait and see how my BBT is looking tomorrow morning...

Tracking can definitely be stressful - I just can't stop myself! I hope the more relaxed approach is helping you reduce any pressure. Smile

I know exactly how you feel. Sad Just trying to keep looking forwards and telling myself it will happen. Fingers crossed it's our turns next!

How's everyone doing?

AF just arrived this morning after feeling quite hopeful (she's always perfectly on time which I suppose I should be grateful for!) but after thinking I'd feel crushed when it came I actually feel okay and more positive than expected, just got to know it won't happen instantly but it will happen 😊

Really hope everyone is doing okay and even closer to positive tests!

@lovesT Hope next cycle is a lucky one for you! Rubbish that af has shown but it's positive that she showed on time.

I've still had no af 🙄 That's at least 8 weeks without now. I've had some faint lines but now questioning them. Feeling sick, sore boobs etc for the past two days. Here's hoping.

Had a urine sample sent to the lab from my gp last week. The lab lost it 🙄 so I've to hand in another sample tomorrow.

I did an OPK on the 5th which looked positive. Holding on to hope that I'll know what's happening soon!

Hi everyone,

Hope you don't mind me joining in!

I'm 24 and my partner is 27, we've been TTC for nearly 2 years now. I was on the pill for a long time but came off that June 2017, it's been such a long road and I don't really have anyone to talk to about it so am hoping this forums will help Smile

We are going all out this month so I'm hoping for a BFP the end of this cycle!! I'm debating starting OPK again but found it really got me down before as I never got positives and that messed with my mental health thinking there's something wrong with me Sad

My partner and I have been ttc #1 for 8 months and my periods have been regular however this cycle i am 7 days overdue but I've had 2 bfns :( I'm going to book a docs apt as I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me. I'm only 25 and my bf is 28 Sad

cc1616540 · 14/04/2019 21:37

@L0205 It can be really hard thinking there's something wrong, I think that all the time for me but if I've learnt anything it's that it can take on average so much longer than you are told at school to get pregnant!! 😫

My GP said my partner would have to go and get checked first before they would do any tests on me, so just a heads up if you do book an appointment.

Do you use apps and things to track?

Report
L0205 · 14/04/2019 21:58

@cc1616540 it's so annoying! Considering we are both healthy, we don't smoke or drink (a lot) and we both exercise I just don't get why it's taken so long :(. I do have an app that I've been using for nearly a year to track my ovulation days etc and I've made sure we BD every month around Ov day.
I found this £20 fertility test for men on amazon so I told my bf to do it this month lol but I guess I'm also worried that there's something wrong with me.. I've just never missed a period before so it is strange!
