Any 20s TTC first baby? :)

Hello!

I've just turned 24 and me and husband have just started TTC first baby. Thought that it would be good to have a thread going with a few people in a similar situation! Very few of my friends are in the same situation as we got married early and now thinking of babies whilst lots of friends are still at uni :)

Anyone one to join a group discussion with how things are going?

Yeah I fully understand the torture! Thank you, are you ttc for your first?

PurpleRain25 · 20/11/2019 10:33

@JadeSB Yes, the boyfriend and I know we want children soon, so about 5 months ago we took the "not trying, not preventing" approach just to let things happen when they happen. It's only the last 2 month's I've actually been tracking my cycle (just through apps) so i know its sort of early days yet. We're trying to keep the laid back approach but it is hard not to obsess! 😂 is this your first?

JadeSB · 20/11/2019 10:41

@PurpleRain25, yes it is my first, had MC at start of the year which was a real kick in the teeth, but is super common and after 6 months of trying, tracking OV and pulling my hair out we were successful lol well I wish you luck with it all, you’ve done well to be so laid back, took over my life completely, nearly sent me half mad 😂😂 my fingers are crossed for you, I used the digital OV tests to track as I generally OV later than usual could be from day 18 right up until day 23 some cycles rather than the day 14 that’s the norm x

PurpleRain25 · 20/11/2019 10:48

@JadeSB Aw I'm sorry to hear that, can't be easy. I had no idea how common it was until I started reading on these forums also, it's crazy how much you learn!
I might look in to the OV tests if no joy this month.. although that'll just give me something else to obsess over 😫😂 Thank you for your help anyway! I'll keep you posted, and best of luck to you and little one 😊 x

JadeSB · 21/11/2019 22:33

@PurpleRain25 any luck? X

PurpleRain25 · 22/11/2019 09:32

@JadeSB Hi Jade, unfortunately not! I took a FR yesterday (it was afternoon time, not sure how much that makes a difference) which would be 8dpo and BFN. When it was developing I was so sure I could see a line, but once the control line appeared the other was gone.. Think it's maybe just how the dye moves across the test, giving me false hope! Lol AF is due Wednesday (although could be Monday if I have a 26 day cycle like last month) so I think I'll just leave it a few days and maybe do the other FR then, or just wait it out :) x

MrsHobo · 22/11/2019 10:53

Hi Ladies!
I'm 28 and my Husband is 33, we've been ttc (on and off) since the year before we got married, so around 7 years now!

We've decided to give it one more go before we look into IVF ( we will have tests, but the problems likely lie with him and not me, so other options may not be viable).

I really don't expect anything to happen, but it would be lovely to give/receive aw support so I don't feel like I'm in this alone!! :)

JadeSB · 22/11/2019 11:27

@PurpleRain25 that’s a shame, but you’ll get there when your body is ready! 🤞🏼

@MrsHobo I cannot imagine TTC for 7 years, much be so frustrating and deflating! 😔 Have you had any MC or just no luck what so ever? Well my fingers and toes are crossed for you and your oh 🤞🏼

MrsHobo · 22/11/2019 13:31

@JadeSB I did have a BFP a couple of years ago, but every other year I did before and after (even some on the same day) were BFN, so I put it down to a faulty test!
Other than that there's been nothing!
DH has a couple of health conditions that could result in DNA damage in sperm or infertility, and o have PCOS in my family (but no symptoms) so we're going to both get tested and figure out our options.

Yeah, I think I'm a little bit numb to it all now! I used to get SO upset every cycle...so far I'm not too bad, but this is cycle 1 so who know what I'll be like a couple of cycles down the road!!

JadeSB · 22/11/2019 15:02

@MrsHobo such an emotional rollercoaster.. well let’s hope that the test results are promising and highlight things that can be helped with tablets etc, in regards to sperm damage I haven’t a clue what they can do for that, but I know people with pcos and othe conditions similar that have taken tablets to help boost fertility and the results have been really positive! Not that you know you have it... how long until you have these tests?

MrsHobo · 22/11/2019 16:41

@JadeSB We have an appointment booked with the GP in a couple of weeks, then that will likely lead to a referral to a fertility clinic for the testing...I doubt it will be this side of Christmas!
Fingers crossed that 2020 brings a baby, however it happens! 😊

JadeSB · 22/11/2019 17:02

@MrsHobo Yeah hopefully 2020 is your year! 🙂🤞🏼

PurpleRain25 · 27/11/2019 23:27

L0205 · 08/01/2020 01:29

Hi all! I've had my beautiful and healthy baby girl!!!!
My waters went on New Year's Eve at 36+4 and she was born on Jan 2nd via C section as I developed preeclampsia whilst in labor.
She weighted 7.14lbs and is the calmest baby ever which is the complete opposite of what she was like when she was in my tummy lol.
Recovery from my cesarean was difficult the first couple of days as I could barely move but I'm now back to normal just avoiding super long walks, driving and heavy lifting.

Signs of labor were: (tmi) pooping 4-5 times a day, pressure on my pelvis as belly dropped, Braxton Hicks increased, kept waking up at silly o'clock in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep due to discomfort and feeling light headed.

How's everyone doing? Any signs of labor yet? X

lovesT · 08/01/2020 11:26

@L0205 wow congratulations that's so exciting! I'm glad that you and baby are healthy and happy even after a c-section. I hope you recover well and are enjoying the first moments with your little baby ❤️ I'm 35 weeks on Friday and still at work until a week before my due date if I can manage (and if baby doesn't come early!) so your baby came early then? We are going to have two tours at two different birthing centres this weekend and see what we think. Congratulations again! ❤️👶

I've also been lightheaded for a while but taking iron to help a bit, only been back at work for two days and had a dizzy spell this morning but ate some dark chocolate to give me a boost and that seems to help!

just turned 25 here :)
I've been off of the pill since last March when we got married but only actively TTC this month. Not really sure where to start!!

L0205 · 09/01/2020 12:59

@lovesT thank you!!!
Oh wow you're brave!!! I was barely able to move at 35 weeks lol. Have you got any swelling yet?
I really wanted a normal labor at a birthing centre but baby girl had other plans! Although I did beg for a cesarean whilst having contractions cos I was in so much pain LOL so I guess I got what I wanted :/.

She came 3 weeks early (36+6) so I was already full term, she was quite big at birth though so everyone started asking me whether I got my dates wrong lol.

I kept feeling lightheaded towards the end too, but I've read it's normal towards the end of pregnancy, another sign of labor!
Have you felt pressure at all?
Bet you're getting so excited now meet your little one! X

lovesT · 09/01/2020 13:09

@L0205 yes moving is definitely becoming more difficult, turning over in bed and walking too much is not my favourite thing! Work are being really good though and have taken me off anything that's too much.

No, no swelling. Did you have that then? Yeah I know to hold birth plans loosely, so we'll see! I feel heavier "down there" and sometimes feel stabbing pains which are quite uncomfortable 😐 I'll be interested to see next week at my midwife appointment if baby's head is any lower down. She is head down but wonder if she's dropped more?

Yes we're so excited! My husband can't wait which is lovely ❤️

@Katlow i started trying at 24 and took us about 5/6 months 😊 don't stress yourself out. After a few months I started taking pregnacare conception and husband took well man conception. Of course I can't say that it worked but the next month we got pregnant. And I thought extra vitamins can't harm? Good luck!
