Hello!

I've just turned 24 and me and husband have just started TTC first baby. Thought that it would be good to have a thread going with a few people in a similar situation! Very few of my friends are in the same situation as we got married early and now thinking of babies whilst lots of friends are still at uni :)

Anyone one to join a group discussion with how things are going?

@L0205 congrats xx

lovesT · 29/05/2019 14:15

@Pinksunset1 doing okay thank you, we were on a family holiday last week which was lovely and restful but as it was my fw we had to be a bit sneaky about it haha Halo I'm now day 19 of my 27/28 day cycle and to be honest feeling a bit low :( probably those mean hormones but will have to wait and see in a week or so :)

We're doing what we can, I've been taking Pregnacare for nearly 2 months I think and my husband has been taking Wellman conception ... so it's just waiting and seeing :)

How long before you are recovered? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time?

oh and sore breasts! But I get that every month straight after ovulation ...

@lovesT Today is my ovulation day, so the waiting game is on for me again! 😂

@L0205 Congratulations on your good news! 💕

lovesT · 09/06/2019 13:15

Hello everyone!

So, this could be an exciting post but it also could be an anti climax 😂 just what you need in this time of uncertainty... I was due on either Friday or Saturday and still haven't come on today. I have had some cramps and when they happen I think oh here it comes but then they go away and don't return ..

I bought some really cheap pregnancy tests from Tesco (the Freedom brand) which when I got home I looked up reviews and annoyingly they're not all good and can apparently give false positives.

I decided to take them both today (second wee of the day so not that strong) and here's what I got .... should I trust it?! Both results with in a couple of minutes ...

Any 20s TTC first baby? :)

@lovesT Those are 100% positives! Congratulations!! Go and get another type if you're not trusting them but those lines are thick and definitely have colour!!

mrssunshinexxx · 09/06/2019 15:36

@lovesT I would say positive - congrats !

lovesT · 09/06/2019 16:58

Thank you! I will buy another test tomorrow I think and see what that says, just because of the bad reviews on these ones ... but there are definitely lines!

If I am then it has come at a bit of a stressful work time (job uncertainty) but husband is being really supportive and is helping me not to worry too much ... He just seems really happy if I am pregnant haha :) hopefully everything will work out okay.

How is everyone else doing? Anyone nearing the time to test?

OP posts:
Roo3125 · 09/06/2019 19:02

@lovesT The false positives on those are usually much thinner. That's a dead certain positive for sure!

I'm due af on Wednesday and trying to hold off till then to test :)

JadeSB · 09/06/2019 21:14

@lovesT I would 100% say that's a positive! Congrats! Xx

lovesT · 10/06/2019 18:06

Okay I think the cheap unreliable ones were right 😄😄 husband is really happy and so am I, definitely nervous and will book an appointment with GP tomorrow but not sure you can fault those lines ...

Symptoms:
Still occasional cramps as if I am coming on
Sore breasts straight after ovulation that have carried on (yay)
Been napping way more than usual which I thought was just because I was relaxed after holiday but apparently not!
Also weirdly about a week ago thinking husbands coffee smelt like burning plastic?

Still early days of course but hoping all will be okay.

Really hoping they best for all of you ❤️

@lovesT omg congratulations!!! And welcome to pregnancy lol. Have you had your appointment yet? Any new symptoms??? I only just received my scan letter and the appointment is booked in for July 15th, which is ages away so I decided to book a private one at peekababy for this Saturday!! I will be 8 weeks and 1 day pregnant on Saturday Grin

lovesT · 13/06/2019 20:20

@L0205 thank you!! No, not yet. I called my doctor's surgery and they said I need to come in to get a leaflet on booking an appointment with the midwife when I get to 8 weeks, so I will email them in a couple of weeks :) Aww yeah it's hard isn't it! Sooo much waiting, surely we'll be the most patient ladies after this!

No new symptoms I don't think, but still having occasional period like cramps (not very strong but definitely noticeable) have you had that at all? Boobs are also still sore ... also feeling quite tired but don't know if that's also the stress of my job situation!

Congratulations again to you :) How are you doing at 8 weeks? Have you told anyone yet?

Hi all, can I join? I’m 27 and TTC our first!
Pretty sure AF is going to appear in the next couple of days so about to head into cycle 3! Have a really good feeling about this one 🤞🏻

How is everyone doing? And congrats to all who have had BFPs so far!

L0205 · 14/06/2019 07:37

@lovesT how odd! I called my gp and booked an appointment with the midwife at 6 weeks pregnant!
Have you worked out how far along you are?

I still have the same symptoms that I had when I found out I was pregnant. Tiredness, hunger, mild cramps, mild headaches, peeing more often and sensitive breasts.
I have mild cramps every now and then and I had a really strong one which lasted about 10 mins on the day I found out, but the midwife told me it's normal in the first trimester. Since then I've just been having mild cramps every two days or so but not every day.
And no sickness at all! Have you felt sick?

I'd say I feel the same at 8 weeks as I felt at 5 weeks lol not rly much difference apart from a more bloated stomach (forgot to mention that symptom).

Also as I am a worrier in chief I have been doing pregnancy tests, just did another one yesterday, just to make sure I was still pregnant looooool cos I still can't believe it!! And of course they've all been positive Grin.

You should download the app called pregnancy+. It's so good! You can even hear how the baby's heartbeat should sound like every week and it also works out your due date. Mine is January 24th :) x

lovesT · 14/06/2019 08:37

@L0205 oh wow that's interesting! I think I'll email in a week or two and see what they say :) I'm just about 5 weeks, so still very early!

I'd say my symptoms are mostly similar to yours then, and no feeling sick yet! (would be great if that didn't make an appearance but we'll see!) It still doesn't feel quite real and I wonder if it does feel more real after seeing the midwife? Exciting though :)

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have a look at the app, sounds really good!

@MrsS147 welcome to the group and good luck :) it can feel like an ongoing thing but then suddenly it seems to happen! Hope all the best for you :)

@L0205 nothing makes me happier each morning when I wake than going on the pregnancy+ app and hearing that little heart beat!! ❤️ haha

L0205 · 14/06/2019 18:15

@lovesT ahh that's good, hopefully you won't get any sickness, and same for me lol but so far so good!
Yeah it definitely feels a bit more real after the midwife apt. But not 100% yet, not until I hear the little heartbeat tomorrow at the scan! So excited!!

L0205 · 14/06/2019 18:17

@MrsS147 welcome!!! I was trying for 8 months and then I decided to stop trying because it was driving me mad, and that same cycle I got pregnant!!! I was so shocked lol. Good luck!

L0205 · 14/06/2019 18:18

@JadeSB I do the same looool. Was thinking of buying a Doppler but maybe next month!

lovesT · 14/06/2019 18:54

@L0205 glad you don't have sickness 😊 and that's so exciting about tomorrow! Would love to hear how it goes x

OP posts:
L0205 · 17/06/2019 07:41

@lovesT ok now it's sinking in lol. So I went to peek a baby and paid £45 for a reassurance scan. I saw my baby and heard the heartbeat!!! The nurse said the baby looks fine and the heartbeat sounds great :'). It's definitely more real now so I highly recommend an early pregnancy scan after 6 weeks if you're a worrier like me. They also give you 6 pics included in the price, I look at them every day loool x

I’m 25 and ttc #1
Stopped contraceptives 8 months ago and still no sign of any period. Can’t help but feel very worried now.
Lots of pregnancy announcements around me too, just can’t wait for the day I can do the same.

JadeSB · 17/06/2019 22:03

@L0205 after reading your post this morning, I've booked an early scan for Saturday as I've had a lot of cramping the last few days and a little spotting to, hopefully I make it to the scan, would love to hear it's little heart beating! 🙂

L0205 · 17/06/2019 22:20

@PT123 i was 25 when I got my copper coil removed last year July and I got pregnant early May this year so don't stress! It takes roughly a year for your body to go back to normal so keep trying and it will happen. I was stressing about it for months and the one month I didn't try I got pregnant, just don't think about it too much :)
