Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Welcome to any new ladies and sorry for your loss.

Let's have a roll call ladies

@Boboelephant that is absolutely amazing news. It's put a smile on my face. Fingers crossed this little one holds tight and you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

There is so much to catch up on so going to have a little read through. Welcome to those who have joined and I hope you find the support you need in this huddle, I know that it has been such a great help to me this last year.

Good luck to those in the TWW and I hope those having a hard time are getting or will get the support and love you need.

I'm on my CB flashing smiley days so trying to dtd as much as poss - should ovulate in the next few days. Will see what happens this cycle.

Laney79 · 26/02/2019 19:45

@ale2992 I think I just googled it and then found a website that inverted the pic and allowed me to save a copy. Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry @Lilimum6 it really is dragging on for you. I'm hoping your body is either getting ready to let go, or perhaps with the cramping it's reabsorbing the tissue?

Had a couple of results back today-negative for coeliac which I expected, but my vitamin D level is much better than it was -76.6nmol/l which is a lot better than in was in December so the extra supplement is working -will check again in 6-8 weeks but at least I now feel I've done something to improve our chances.

Still waiting for flashing smiley on Clearblue opk...cd10 tomorrow so hoping my hormones kick in as they should.

Oh and random question -what do you consider the first day of your cycle? I count from the start of bleeding, even if that's arvo/eve but my friend only counts from first full day of bleeding...worried I'm counting wrong now!!! X

frillyfarmer · 26/02/2019 19:53

This is a really minging TMI question for those with retained products -

I'm six weeks post MC now and finally started bleeding, tonight it smells bad. It's a familiar smell, I had it when passing RPOC following vaginal birth of my son, but I was reassured then by the midwife looking up my box every other day. I've been on a course of antibiotics to combat any infection but it's quite a strong smell - is that normal or do I need to call 111/GP?

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 19:55

@Laney79 I did it in an app but it made the lines even harder to see I've posted pictures on TWW thread if you want to look. I can't post anymore on here today.

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 19:56

@Laney79 sorry it's not TWW it's fertile Feb!

Laney79 · 26/02/2019 20:19

@ale2992 I saw the pics-I think I can see something too. Fingers crossed for you xxx

K0013 · 26/02/2019 20:31

Hi ladies,
I’d like to join if that is ok.
Going to start TTC #1 again soon after 3 mcs (last one in Sept but dragged on for a long time). RMC tests came back fine. On higher dosage of folic acid.

Have to admit I’m scared of putting myself through this again but hopefully this time will be better.

Hope you are all doing ok!
@frillyfarmer do you have a contact number for your local EPU? If not might be worth giving 111 a call for peace of mind xx

Catconfusion · 26/02/2019 21:02

@ale2992 which thread are you on. Want to have a look!

Pop1234 · 26/02/2019 21:08

@ale2992 I can see a line on your tests. Fingers crossed!!

frillyfarmer · 26/02/2019 21:22

Going to call GP triage in morning and discuss with them.

My fucking body is making a real song and dance out of this one, I'm so mad.

Yukka · 26/02/2019 21:24

Congratulations fnej01 :)

@Laney79 I've alwasy counted day 1 as when the bleed started no matter what time of day 11:59 at night and that is day 1,12:01 is day 2.

@frillyfarmer I can't really comment as haven't had retained but wanted to reply, do you feel ok? No pain, don't feel ill, running a temperature etc etc. if everything else is fine, then it's probably fairly normal? But if you're worried and do have other symptoms phone 111 tonight or GP tomorrow. GP might give you another course of antibiotics just in case. Sorry I'm a bit if's, buts and maybe's as not been through it xx

@K0013 sorry to see you here and sorry for your losses. Its good you've been through the testing though to validate, but equally understand that the diagnosis of 'bad luck and just keep trying' is pretty hard to stomach xx

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 21:54

@Catconfusion fertile feb!

InDreamland · 26/02/2019 22:06

@MyHeartIsBrokenButIHaveSomeGlue it really sucks, it's so sad isn't it. My birthday is in 2 weeks. We have booked to go away for a few days from the day after my birthday. Sorry you've found things tough today, cry it out x

@Lilimum6 Sorry you're still going through this, it's so unfair.

@boboelephant thank you. I wonder if my cycle is a little bit more like pre-second mc because I've got another rotten cold. Or could it be the Q10? It can't work that fast though surely, only been taking it for 3 weeks. Literally from when AF finished last time.

@ale2992 I think I see a faint line on the middle and last pictures. Hope it's a sticky bean.

InDreamland · 26/02/2019 22:09

@Newbie21 fx for this cycle for you!

@Laney79 I count from first day of bleeding even if in afternoon/evening too. Am I wrong? I do note though when it's later.

Lozboz22 · 26/02/2019 23:15

@frillyfarmer so sorry that it's still dragging on for you. The last thing you need is an infection on top of it all. Give the doc a ring in the morning. Big hugs.

@boboelephant huge congrats, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it stays sticky for you.

@laney79 thanks for asking after me. I took another test this morning and it's slightly darker than 48 hours ago. Will take another in a couple of days. Boobs are achy so I'm hopeful this is a new pregnancy , but staying level headed about it all.

@ale2992 a lines a line ! Congrats

Catconfusion · 27/02/2019 03:17

@ale2992 I just popped over and had a look. That looks like the very beginnings of a line. So exciting! Keep us posted! X

Boboelephant · 27/02/2019 07:03

@fnej01 thank you! Haha not sure about Queen Bee as much as longest old cheese on the thread but your image is nicer. 😂 so glad you had a lovely wedding day and hope your marriage follows likewise.

@Newbie21 thank you! Good luck for this cycle!

@Laney79 glad the vit d has improved. I also count from the first day of bleeding, regardless of time. A doctor once told me as long as it's proper bleeding that's day 1. If you spot for a few days before that doesn't count.

@frillyfarmer I was also going to suggest calling for peace of mind. GP triage sounds a good idea. Hope all is ok.

@K0013 welcome and so sorry for your losses.

@InDreamland I haven't noticed coq10 making any difference to me in terms of colds but who knows. Maybe you're a bit run down? Mental health definitely does affect our physical heath. Maybe some nice warming foods and something relaxing will help?

@Lozboz22 thank you and tentative congratulations to you!

InDreamland · 27/02/2019 07:09

@boboelephant how are you today? I have been emotional so wouldn't be surprised if I keep catching colds, you're right that it affects physical health too. I read wondering though if CoQ10 affects cycle length.

CD29 for me and 11/12 DPO now. AF not arrived yet, based on last couple of cycles since mc#2 AF was due on Monday but given I ov'd later than usual who set off that's caused a longer cycle this month, or cycle going back to what it was before.

KnitKitty · 27/02/2019 07:35

@Lovemysparkle Wow! That has gone sooo quickly!!! Congratulations on your rainbow baby!! How lovely. I wish other graduates would come back to tell us their news. I think a lot of us get so bogged down in the recurrent miscarriage and bad news on this thread it's easy to think that it'll never happen; especially when a few of us have been on here for a year or longer. Thank you for sharing your message of hope and joy. xxx

@Pop1234 I got results of a dodgy blood test about 4 weeks after my first RMC appointment as it needed repeating. They told me at the first appointment that my next one would be in 8-10 weeks' time as that would give them time to receive all of the results of the various blood tests. Unfortunately for me there was a delay in getting an appointment so it will be 16 weeks when I get my results; including news about two MRIs. I'm having a crash-course in patience. I hope you hear from yours soon. Do you have a second appointment booked in? Chase up with the secretary or department if you need to.

@Lilimum6 I'm sending you a huge hug, just because. I think you're such an amazing, resilient and strong lady. Flowers xxx

@Mistymeow I knew you and @Boboelephant would both get pregnant around now. Smile Hopefully I won't be toooo far behind, but it's getting a bit frustrating not being able to try again yet. If either of you want to PM me with baby news I would be delighted. I know graduates don't always come back with news very often as it's very raw for people still going through MC or RMC, however I'm in a good place at the moment and it doesn't bother me at all, so please keep me updated. I guess you both understand the feeling of being left behind...

@fnej01 I think I missed the wedding news! Congratulations! Are the repeat bloods because they're checking for changes or because of borderline results? (I'm really sorry, I can't keep up with everyone's news and I've forgotten where you're at with RMC now)

@Newbie21 Hi! It's always hard to catch up, isn't it? Good luck with the big O this month xx

@Laney79 I'm glad the results were good. As for the CD1 question... I believe you count the first day of proper bleeding. If it's obviously spotting, I wouldn't count it, but if it's light bleeding, but continuous and obviously bleeding, I would count it. Does that make sense?

@frillyfarmer If you haven't already I would contact EPU/out of hours Gynae ward for advice.

@K0013 Welcome. I'm taking a break while going through RMC investigations at the moment. I'm both impatient and terrified of trying again, so I understand how you feel. It's good news they didn't find anything bad, but probably doesn't ease your worries; I know sometimes we'd rather they found a reason and it be something fixable. Good luck with trying again. Fingers crossed for your rainbow xxx

As for me, I'm fighting off the lurgy and have a week of annual leave starting today (typical timing) so putting my feet up and relaxing. I am SOOO glad I changed jobs. My stress levels are way lower and I feel like I'm giving myself much more of a chance to cope with TTC again once I do.
I have my endocrinology appointment next week which I'm nervous for, but I'm taking OH with me. Hopefully I don't have a pituitary glad tumour!

Laney79 · 27/02/2019 07:38

@InDreamland I always base when AF is due on my luteal phase (12 days for me) as that doesn't seem to change by more than 24 hours. My ovulation can shift by 3-4 days it seems. So if you know when you ovulated and your luteal phase length you should be able to predict a bit more clearly when AF is due.

@Boboelephant @Yukka @InDreamland thanks-glad I'm counting right!!!

@Lozboz22 fingers crossed for you

@K0013 welcome to the huddle x

@frillyfarmer how are you doing this morning?

Cd10 and flashing smiley bang on time so gotta JKS as much as we can (easier said than done as the pressure can be a bit much). Week off has fallen just right mind!

InDreamland · 27/02/2019 08:27

@KnitKitty hope you feel better soon!

@Laney79 thanks, I've never thought of that, gonna do some counting tonight now .......AF will probably turn up during the day now.

Lilimum6 · 27/02/2019 08:31

Well ladies it's officially the one year anniversary of when I joined the huddle. I'm sorry to say but I'm gutted I never thought I'd be here this long. Hugs to everyone
