Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Welcome to any new ladies and sorry for your loss.

Let's have a roll call ladies

@boboelephant congratulations! That’s a seriously strong positive!

InDreamland · 25/02/2019 21:57

@moonpeace I'd love it so much then we could support each other through the anxieties of pregnancy following mc. Just have to hope the witch stays away but I'm struggling to stay positive. Especially after my stupidity last night taking that FRER.

Russkispy · 25/02/2019 22:58

@Boboelephant massive congratulations! You so deserve this! Hope the little bean sticks. Absolutely everything crossed for you! Smile

strawberrye · 26/02/2019 06:53

Just wanted to pop on and say @Boboelephant such huge congratulations, you so deserve this and I'm really very pleased for you! You give me hope that those of us who have been penguins for more than a year can get a BFP! Please keep us updated on your progress if you feel able to.

Haven't been around much because I am finding Mumsnet is bringing me down more than helping at the moment, especially after my disaster of a RMC appointment. I am such an old cheese on here I feel like I'm part of the furniture, despite being "young" enough for my problems to be belittled. I have had a really busy time at work recently and it's just started to slow down, so I have just started some counselling and acupuncture to help. Seeing my GP today about a Tommy's referral and hoping they will refer me as it is one ray of hope I am clinging on to.

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 07:10

So I tested again just now, I think I can see a very faint again but other half disagrees and say there's nothing there. This is making me annoyed at him!
If I compare today's test with yesterday I can 100% see a line but he is insisting there is nothing on either...
Not ruling myself out or letting this drag me down, 11dpo so I'm not out until af comes, which is Friday.

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 07:23

Ha, he has now doubted himself and come back for another look, he says if you hold it directly under the light and compare it to the other he admit he can also see a faint line!!
Going to test again in few days and try to not get my hopes up...

KnitKitty · 26/02/2019 07:43

Oh @Boboelephant!!! I feel genuinely tearful!!! I am sooo happy for you, to see a positive after so long! Congratulations!
I was thinking about you this morning but thought there was still another week or something until testing time!
I really, really hope this is a sticky one, in the right place and everything goes smoothly.
Throwing all my best wishes/luck/prayers/crossed fingers/baby dust your way.
How are you feeling?

Catconfusion · 26/02/2019 07:50

How annoying @ale2992 I was under the impression even the faintest of lines was positive. I had one like a couple of weeks after ERPC. Had to hold it up to the light but it was there, annoyingly at that point. Anyway good luck for when you test again!

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 07:53

@Catconfusion that's what I told my other half! Going to test again in Thursday and then af is due Friday so will see what happens.

Lovemysparkle · 26/02/2019 08:24

Hi @boboelephant am hoping you remember me especially being a fellow veteran penguin 🐧
I just wanted to express my huge happiness for you & your dh on your beautiful news😁 you deserve this more than anything & I hope your journey is a fantastic as you are❤️
I have always read & kept up with you ladies but took a back seat as my rainbow 🌈 pregnancy continued (never joined more cake thread) battled my own issues and anxieties but am happy to say my beautiful little man was born 2 weeks ago 12/02/19 by c-section & we are absolutely in love❤️ For those of you who don’t know/remember me I already have 1ds who is 14 (big age gap I know!!) And my history is 1mmc 1 chemical and a mc at 7 weeks I am also 40 years old was under a fantastic professor at rmc & although I went through exactly what you ladies are going through we have sort of excepted that luck was not on our side with our 3 little angels but the proof is in the pudding & I have sore nips to prove it!! Please please do not give up (I know how heartbreaking the journey is) as you never know what is around the corner for you all❤️ We found out a week before our wedding day back in June & we only dtd twice so it’s true it always happens when you least expect it❤️ I want to send love & support to all you penguins old & new & I am always here if anyone needs a chat or advice on anything love to you all & an extra squeeze to @boboelephant ❤️

InDreamland · 26/02/2019 08:31

@Lovemysparkle congratulations on the birth of your little rainbow!

@ale2992 a line is a line. Hope it's a stronger one on Thursday.

So I'm CD28 today and 10/11 DPO. Feel like AF is trying to start so being realistic this isn't happening again this month. My first baby should be 1 month old now. I won't be pregnant again by my 39th birthday. Think this is why I'm feeling so low and tearful all the time again.

Laney79 · 26/02/2019 08:33

Sorry ladies-had a couple of days away from the thread -moving fast!

@Lozboz22 Have you tested again?

@Yukka Please do keep us updated-hope is so important! And you are providing that, as well as lots of good advice!

@AliceRR I just wanted to say how sorry I am. I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through. Huge hugs. This is a wonderful board positively dripping in support. Xxx

@MrsLBear welcome to the huddle. In terms of DTD I think it's when you feel emotionally and physically ready. For me I just wanted to try again as quickly as possible, but age is not on my side. Do what feels right for you.

@InDreamland totally get the frustration of desperately wanting to test early then doing it and not being able to know if it's a conclusive result. It's horrible when you want something so much. Any sign of AF?

@Essexgirlupnorth welcome. So sorry for your loss x

@Catconfusion keeping fingers crossed for ovulation for you. Taking my body ages to sort itself after losing my second (53 day cycle, then 35, then 28, 24 last month!) so my ovulation has been shifting quite a lot.

@Dimblebimble I'm so so sorry lovely, awful news. Have you decided what to do? I'd push them for testing if you can, nhs says not until after three losses, but I know other organisations and systems abroad say two consecutive losses should be the investigation point.

@Boboelephant omg!!! That's fabulous news!!! So pleased for you!!! Gives me hope to see a fellow board "veteran" with a bfp! Keeping everything crossed for the stickiest if stickies for you. Congrats. Xxx

@ale2992 have you tried inverting the test? Take a pic and invert the colours to see what it shows-I did that with one of mine last year and it helped show a line. Fingers crossed!

@moonpeace symptom spotting is just torture isn't it -our bodies are cruel.

@frillyfarmer fingers crossed the bleeding does what it needs to and your body rights itself lovely. Sorry about the thrush too, surely our bodies should give us a break!

@strawberrye good luck with your gp today-hope they give you that referral xx

As for me, we have a week off this week, and hoping my body plays ball as we should be into fertile week tomorrow (CD9 today, Clearblue showing low fertility). Hopefully the time off will help with relaxation and get us DTD as much as poss! Got my private thrombophilia screen blood tests done yesterday -10 vials! And I caved and bought another finger prick vitamin D test to see how my levels are and if they are improving. Now to wait for the results.

Laney79 · 26/02/2019 08:34

Oh and @Lilimum4 @Russkispy how are you guys doing?

Thinking of everyone else I've not mentioned specifically xxx

Laney79 · 26/02/2019 08:35

Oh! @Lovemysparkle such lovely news!!! Congratulations! Xxx

InDreamland · 26/02/2019 08:44

@Laney79 fx for your FW! Thanks, AF not started yet but feel like she is on her way.

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 26/02/2019 09:00

Congratulations @Boboelephant! Gives me and my new one tube body hope! I'm crossing all for you @ale2992. Even though I hate social media announcements and births, I love seeing BFPs on these groups!

How are you doing @Dimblebimble? Have you given anymore thought to what you would like to do?

@InDreamland the milestones are horrible aren't they? The baby I MC last summer should have been born this week (I would have been booked in to have a section after horrendous first labour) and all this time all I wanted was to be pregnant by the due date. I never thought I'd be marking the milestone with another loss and recovering from an ectopicSadPlease be kind to yourself and take it hour by hour. When is your birthday? Can you book something nice to do? Maybe not to celebrate as such but to try and make you feel better?

I'm still super tearful. I have come to sit at my parents house today as I couldn't bear being alone. I keep bursting into tears on them and they are not quite sure what to do!

Pop1234 · 26/02/2019 09:40

Congratulations @Boboelephant that's amazing news!! Excited to follow your journey.

I had my first RMC appointment 6 weeks ago (NHS). Does anyone know how long is usually takes to hear anything? I had some bloods done including karyotyping so I know that takes a while to come back.

Lilimum6 · 26/02/2019 09:46

@Boboelephant congratulations hun I'm so unbelievably happy for you. Please don't jump ship keep us updated. You deserve a happy ending now. I m so excited for you x

As for me nothing happening except cramps and now I've got a fear that the last erpc damaged me. Suppose I'll find out at the next scan what is to be my future.

I'm sorry I've not mentioned everyone. I've have a couple of days away from the thread. Gosh it moves fast. Welcome to the new comers and sorry for your loss x
Sorry for you ladies that are currently going through a miscarriage my heart hurts for you. Baby dust to everyone and sticky stuff for all the new bfp. And a hug for you ladies who feel low and are in need of one x

Mistymeow · 26/02/2019 10:04

I'm so sorry @dimblebimble to hear this sad news. We got our BFPs at the same time and I've been rooting for you so much. I would voice your concerns to EPU about the erpc but as the others have said I believe the risk is very small. You do what's best for you. A holiday is a great idea. I did a road trip in California after my miscarriage last year and it was so healing. Please take care of yourself.

@boboelephant what wonderful news. You must be on cloud nine! You have been such a support to so many on this thread over the past 18 months. I know how much I have benefited from your advice and kindness and I am so happy that your IVF round has been a success. I really hope this is your much wanted sibling for your little one. It would be great to keep in touch as I'm only four weeks-ish ahead of you.

I'm really sorry to read more sad stories of pregnancy loss. This thread has been such a support to me in the past 8 months since I joined, you are all in great hands.

ale2992 · 26/02/2019 10:42

@InDreamland thanks!
@Laney79 No, I didn't manage to get a decent picture this morning a Shad to rush off to work but I may try again tonight if the line is still there, any idea on how i invert the picture though?

frillyfarmer · 26/02/2019 11:04

@Lilimum6 I'm sorry you're still waiting, the weeks go by so quickly waiting for our bodies to fix up. When is your next scan? Will they ERPC no matter how small?

Lilimum6 · 26/02/2019 11:13

@frillyfarmer I've got to call epu on the 6th to arrange a scan and I've asked for a hisposcopy instead of erpc I'm terrified of scars now

Thank you all so much lovelies! I am so happy that after being here so long and seeing so many happy endings that I can finally share mine with you too. Was quite worried it would never happen! It's still very early days so obviously need to try and manage my excitement but after no bfp for 16 months it's a damn good start! So nice to see messages from some returning penguins too- thank you!!!

@InDreamland thank you. I'm sorry this is so hard. I know how difficult the milestones are and I'm so hopeful for you that you get your rainbow soon. One good thing is that your cycles are normalising.

@ale2992 10dpo is still early. Fingers crossed for Thursday.

@moonpeace thank you and good luck for your appointment on Wednesday and fx for this cycle.

@frillyfarmer thank you. It's bittersweet but I'm glad your body has finally started letting go. Well done on your run!

@mynameisMrG thank you. It feels a relief! The amount of times I've stared at a white space and tricked myself into believing there's a line. It is nice to have an indisputable one!

@Russkispy thank you. How are you feeling? Have you started your new cycle yet?

@strawberrye thank you love. I'm so sorry you're feeling down. I truly understand the agony of being here for more than a year which was why I stepped away over the last few months too. I am glad you have counselling and acupuncture sorted and have everything crossed for you getting that referral today. Be as pushy as you need to! Sending hugs.

@KnitKitty thank you hun! Finally!!! I am feeling ok, extremely tired and quite windy 😳 but ironically lacking in most of the symptoms I got every month which I fixated on! Had a blood test today to check hcg and off to gp today to get a referral to EPU.

@Lovemysparkle oh my goodness of course I remember you! The sparkliest penguin of all! Thank you so much. I am so delighted to hear that your baby boy is in your arms, I'm almost crying with joy for you. Enjoy this magical time!!

@Laney79 thank you and good luck for this fw!! JKS!

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue thank you. Yes it can still happen!! Hope you get some down time at your parents and feel better soon. It's early days, be kind to yourself.

@Pop1234 thank you. Not RMC but my NHS bloods took 8 weeks. Hope you hear soon.

@Lilimum6 thank you. Sorry things still aren't moving for you. When is your next scan? Hugs.

@Mistymeow thank you love! So pleased to hear all is ok with you too! How nice that we ended up being so close! I'd love to keep in touch.

Just popping on to say @Boboelephant congratulations amazing news, I have been lurking and thinking of you, as you were very much queen bee of the thread holding us all together when I first joined last summer. Wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months x

Welcome to all the new members and sorry to hear of everyone having a sh1t time.

I have repeat bloods at RMC St Mary's tomorrow. Other than that no news to tell, apart from the small matter of having got married. It was a lovely day so thanks for all the well wishes.

Make sure you are all taking care of yourself ladies 😘
