Hi All,

In the tww of my first cycle trying for my first baby.... learning so much reading through some of these threads! Would be lovely to have people to talk to that are going through the same thing!

Hi Tchelsea

Not due to test just yet, but have just had my first ever flashy smiley (high fertility) on the Clear Blue 4 day OPK which i'm pretty excited about. Hopefully sometime in the next few days it'll stop flashing and i can head to the clinic for my first IUI.

My mood has flipped 180 from yesterday. I know i was just being paranoid.

@Tchelsea no not yet, just patiently waiting, think it's another 6 days before it would be worth my while testing
@NKB88 that's brilliant news, I'm sure the flashing will stop in the next couple days for you :-) I've previously used the normal Clear Blue OPKs, but I've not tried the 4 day ones, do they give you a better idea of when ovulation is due?

I found out the other day that my friend is pregnant. I'm really happy for them, it's such lovely news, but if I'm being totally honest it's also left me feeling a bit down. I know it's silly but it feels like everyone is falling pregnant at the moment and without trying for too long :-( Does anyone struggle with feeling both happy for others but sad for themselves? Hope that doesn't make me sound like a bad person, I'm genuinely happy for them, its just hard being in this situation.

@Goodyear2019 I struggle quite badly with it! so I know exactly how you feel. My cousin gave birth in September just before I got married and I went to visit her last month. She only took 3 cycles with her first baby and 1 cycle with her second baby to fall... I was in my tww when I went and AF came ROARING in about 2 days later.

My app is telling my AF is due today and surely enough, just started cramping and feeling generally rubbish so think she'll be popping up any hour now!

@Tchelsea Since we started trying we've had 6 babies born within our circle of family and friends and 2 pregnancy announcements! I love going to visit the new babies and getting a cuddle but it does make me quite upset, although I always manage to hold it together while visiting and wait until I'm home before having a little cry to myself lol!
That sucks about your AF, sending you hugs (also AF cramps are the absolute worst!) treat yourself to something nice today to take your mind off it :-)

@Goodyear2019 Oh gosh that must be incredibly tough! 6!! I think it makes it so much more difficult because you have to keep it all in really, especially when it's family! So grateful for Mumsnet and this thread though, helps relieve some of that pressure!

@Tchelsea Totally, having this thread has been great. It's become almost comical, waiting to see who's going to get pregnant next haha! I guess it's just the age group of our friends/family that makes it inevitable that there will be lots of babies at the moment. Still, it's nice being able to pick out cute little baby outfits and gifts, even if I can't do it for myself...yet!

Im out for this month, AF came today. Not feeling too bad about it this time around. I have a few parties in the next couple of weeks anyhow 🍷🥂 Just hope this cycle goes quicker than the last!!

I got my baby fix for today so maybe that's why I feel ok so far. I visited my friend who has a 6 week old and got loads of cuddles.

so you know I said I thought AF was coming... well it didn’t materialise today and I’ve felt a bit weird so thought hey I’ll do a test.... did one when I got back but my pee wasn’t that strong cause I peed an hour earlier and used a clear blue rather than FRER.....

I think I see a faint line but I don’t want to get my hopes cause it’s SO faint!! Can you gives give me some line eyes please???

@joylondon I'm glad you're feeling ok about it, make the most of your parties and enjoy yourself.

I've woken up feeling horrible, alternating between being angry and emotional so think it's safe to say that's my PMS kicking in so 99.9% certain I'll have my AF by this time next week.

Sorry all, been off for a few days dying with the flu! Probably better off I didn't get a BFP as the meds I have been taken have done wonders for the flu but I wouldn't have been able to take them if pregnant, silver linings and all that!

@Goodyear would you normally get hormne changes that far out from AF? I normally get them the day before only. This month I had none so made it even more disappointing when AF showed up late.

On to this cycle, ov on the 28th, himself will be home the 27th for the night then back for the weekend so loads of time to DTD and hold my legs in the air!!

Its still so new to me, that we were DTD on wednesday night, and it hit me again that we are TTC, I hadn't thought about it for a few days with being so sick. Madness!

Anyone any nice plans for the weekend? I can't wait for a lie in tomorrow. Putting clean sheets on the bed this evening so I can make the most of it too! It really is the simple things! lol

@Goodyear2019 Thank you, it's ok... I knew it was a bit of a stab in the dark cause it was SO faint! Nevermind, at least I can have a large Aperol Spritz tonight! Sorry to hear you woke up feeling so poo... PMS has SO much to answer for!!

@joylondon Our bodies just love to tease us and keep us guessing!

@ImMeantToBeWorking glad you're feeling a bit better!! I ovulate around the 3rd so not too far behind you!! (I have 24/25 day cycles). Fingers crossed and baby dust to you for this cycle!

I'm going to the Caraboa Cup Final on Sunday but no other plans! Feel like me and DH may need a weekend away somewhere during an ovulation period... might help!

@Tchelsea same to you! Had very little DTD this weekend as himself was busy with cows calfing and ewes lambing. Only DTD once over the whole weekend. Sad It seems we had more time for DTD when we weren't TTC. If he wasn't so excited about it I would think it was intentional!

@Goodyear2019 If they want us at our best they have to take us at our worst! We have to put up with their moods too!! lol I do love my clean bed sheets! Simple things.

@ImMeantToBeWorking are you in the TWW now? It's hard when life gets in the way! You never know... once could be enough. Do you know when exactly you ovulated?

@Goodyear2019 I'm feeling a bit fed up haha, hoping I don't have to wait another 15 days for ovulation!

@NKB88 How did you get on with your OPKs, did you get the smiley face you were waiting for?

@joylondon I feel like all I'm doing at the moment is waiting. Waiting for ovulation, waiting to DTD, waiting for AF, waiting for ovulation again!!

Anyone else getting fed up of 'having' to DTD at certain times? Sometimes I just don't feel like on those particular days but if we don't then I fee like I've missed an opportunity :-(

hey, i did indeed get the permanent smiley i was waiting for. I think a bit of shaming on here did the trick. Did a test about 7AM Saturday morning, and it was still flashing, but then about 9.30AM i did another one (or 4) and they all came back smiley and positive. I went to the clinic that afternoon and am now in my 3rd day post IUI and probably about 2dpo.

Heres hoping for that BFP in 2 weeks.

I am sick with suspense here. Just reached the end of the TWW, due on today, and I've got all the symptoms I had when I was pregnant in Nov, plus being weirdly off the idea of food. Strong smells are making me feel so sick atm! BFN last night so I'm holding off testing again for a bit, but I just want to know.

(But even if I find out I'm pregnant, I'm still not able to be properly happy after my MC in Nov - what if it happens again? sigh)

End of whine! Smile
