Thanks @Tchelsea and @Goodyear2019 I'm probably over thinking the vitamin thing, I'll give it some more time.

@stitchwitch84 one of my friends mentioned the possibility of is disappearing, and it seems you've proved it's possible! So rubbish about your AF... 😞

@S311 hope you get a good result from your blood test! Btw.. I have nausea/ibs /acid buildup too.. apparently due to stress! I'm taking Symprove every morning and it's really helped, would really recommend it to anyone with digestive issues, and it's safe for ttc and pregnancy.

@ImMeantToBeWorking I'm using the natural cycles app and thermometer.. it's pretty straight forward I'd say. I use clue as well...although it predicts my FW to be earlier than natural cycles. I wasn't going to temp, but the control freak in me couldn't resist 🤷🏼‍♀️

ImMeantToBeWorking · 31/01/2019 15:20

@Goodyear2019 thanks for that, I have that ordered now and the app downloaded. I have the flo app too so I will keep them both and see how they compare. It will be a month before I know at this stage!!

@joylondon I know it is totally the control freak in me who is making me do this! I agreed with DP that I wouldn't do it yet as I don't want to take the fun out of trying yet, but I am too control freak for that! Ah well! I have the temp Goodyear recommended ordered and I will have it Monday the 4th, AF due on the 14th so it will be a month before I know if temping is working for me!

Tchelsea · 31/01/2019 16:34

@joylondon that's really interesting! I suffer really badly with IBS and we can't figure out what triggers it! I might try some of that!

OP posts:
stitchwitch84 · 31/01/2019 17:54

@Tchelsea have you tried low FODMAP? It has absolutely changed my life! My IBS was horrible but now it's an unusual day that I get the horrible bloating and upset tummies - and I've identified which triggers I need to avoid and which I can have a little bit of. It's brilliant!

I have put my AF disappointment to good use, and our dining room is finally useable again. (We had to move the kitchen into it, as the diocese suddenly decided just before Christmas that they had enough money in the budget to renovate the kitchen!) Much sorting and cleaning has been done - yay!

fabmaz · 31/01/2019 20:00

Hey, how's everyone doing?

Sorry to those who have af - next month for you!!

I'm still holding out hope for the weekend xxx

Catlady31 · 31/01/2019 20:40

Tested today, negative!
Did it on a whim, Used ClearBlue (I've heard they aren't the best so won't be buying again), wasn't my first urine and not due AF till Saturday/Sunday so fingers still crossed!
Having cramps the last few days which wouldn't usually start till the day before or day of AF and would be stronger. Nausea and heartburn on and off, sometimes quite bad.

Aaaaah this is the worst! Confused

joylondon · 31/01/2019 23:02

@Catlady31 @fabmaz fx for the weekend for you two! I will be in your shoes in 2 weeks time- stress! Feels like ages.

@Tchelsea fodmap is a great shout @stitchwitch84 it's worked for friends of mine too. Slightly annoying process but worth it.

Well done on your hard days cleaning @stitchwitch84 in spite of AF!

S311 · 01/02/2019 08:30

@joylondon thanks for the recommendation. Got my AF this morning so I guess I know what the blood test is going to say. Still feel awful so taking a day to recover. It feels mental now that I didn't do anything about feeling sick for nearly two weeks cos I assumed I could be pregnant. Nature is cruel.

Really hope someone here gets some good news this weekend Flowers

Tchelsea · 01/02/2019 09:07

@stitchwitch84 I've heard of it and vaguely know what it entails but I haven't tried it properly.. I think I need to though and find out what it is that's causing this!!

Nice one on the cleaning though!!

@fabmaz please let us know! baby dust all over!!!

@Catlady31 Baby dust to you too!! The waiting is just awful isnt it!

Hoping and praying for some good news from one of us either this month or next month!!

So my temps were right....AF came with a bang a few days ago...and doctor has just rang with my blood results stating that my progesterone is low, and I need a repeat blood test to see if it was a one off or not. Confused
Anyone had this yet?

joylondon · 01/02/2019 18:04

@S311 oh I'm so sorry... that's so awful to have your hopes dashed. I totally understand why you overlooked your symptoms though 😞 hope you feel better with some rest.

@careynurse. What a tough January! So sorry to hear that. Don't have much wisdom in the progesterone front.. but just did some googling. Apparently levels fluctuate throughout the cycle (even in a single day), so I guess they have a specific cycle day to do the blood test. Levels should be highest 7 days before AF as it helps to build the womb lining to receive a fertilized egg.

Now I realize why my mother told me to get my hormone levels checked LOL. One symptom of low progesterone is mood swings 😅 (and headaches) both of which I have apparently 😤🙄

careynurse · 01/02/2019 18:19

@joylondon thanks! So you have the test 7days post ovulation (essentially called the D21 test but if you know when you ovulate with temps etc then it's 7days post ovulation). I knew it was low this month and why my temps fell off the cover line but until they say it to you, you don't believe it! I was blaming my thermometer! Essentially I had the bloods completed to let me know all was ok and it will happen eventually....however this may now not be the case Hmm it still may happen and it might be a one off so repeat tests this month and we are still going to temp and BD during the fertile window! No point in wasting a month trying to figure out what's what! Back on the band wagon we go and fingers crossed it'll happen naturally....soon! Onto cycle #9 Confused

fabmaz · 03/02/2019 13:37

Bfn for me today ladies :( but no sign of af yet though x

joylondon · 03/02/2019 21:14

@fabmaz you're not your yet, give it some more time. My friend just found out she's pregnant, and she had negative tests... then felt wierd after a few weeks and went to the doc. Turns out she was 6 weeks pregnant 😅.

@Catlady31 did you test this weekend?

Hope everyone's doing ok xx

fabmaz · 03/02/2019 21:37

Thanks @joylondon 😊 I'm still holding out hope until af shows up 🤞

S311 · 03/02/2019 22:32

Any tips for starting to use ovulation tests? It says if you have a 28 day cycle start on day 6/7. My last month was 32 days (due to stress) but I was 28 days a month like clockwork for a year! Reckon I should assume the 28 day cycle? Better to start earlier if not sure?

Goodyear2019 · 04/02/2019 09:41

@S311 My cycle varies by a day or two but since the majority of them are 28 days that's what I go with. I usually starting testing on day 11 and find I normally get a positive results between days 14 and 16.

My AF showed up on Saturday, disappointing but was expecting it.

fabmaz · 04/02/2019 19:01

Think I'm out - spotting has started :(

S311 · 04/02/2019 19:17

@Goodyear2019 thanks for the tip.

Sorry to hear that @fabmaz . Was hoping we would have good news from at least one lady here this month!

Lots of baby dust for the next cycle Flowers

fabmaz · 04/02/2019 19:49

Thanks @S311 - guessing it's back to trying and lots of dtd haha

Baby dust to all xxx

ImMeantToBeWorking · 05/02/2019 09:37

@Goodyear2019 and @fabmaz sorry to hear you are both out. Here's hoping for next month.

My temp arrived yesterday (thanks to Goodyear for the recommendation) so when should I start using it. AF due on the 14th so I am well past ovulation (if I did at all after just stopping the pill)

Goodyear2019 · 05/02/2019 11:12

@ImMeantToBeWorking I started using mine on cycle day 1 so the day my next AF arrived, but I don't suppose there's any harm in using it straight away. If you're logging it in a fertility app it'll start to show a pattern each month.

This is cycle #8 for me, to be honest the daily temping and all the OPKs are starting to get a bit tiring/stressful for me. I think I'm going to give myself a break from them this month and just go with the flow and see what happens. My cycle is pretty regular so I can estimate when my period window is.

joylondon · 05/02/2019 14:35

@Goodyear2019 @fabmaz sorry that's another disappointing cycle for you both.

@ImMeantToBeWorking I would just start straight away.

I'm on day CD18 and the clue app says I should be ovulating today... but natural cycles says I'll ovulate on CD22! So late in my cycle 😩
I did an OPK this am and it was negative... so reckon I'll just do one every day until AF 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

ImMeantToBeWorking · 05/02/2019 15:55

Thanks, I will start in the morning so.

I said I wouldn't start temping or using OPKs yet, but I could not help myself. I think the temping will be handy so I know when my cycle is back to normal after being on the pill. I am not going to do OPKs yet.

@goodyear you never know, the stress might be preventing it, it may just happen on its own.

My grandparents started trying after they got married but a few years later there was still no sign so they were the adoption route. a few years later nana fell pregnant naturally and they went on to have two children of their own. She swears it was the pressure to have kids that stopped her at first.

@joy see that's the thing, the apps say when the majority of women should ovulate, but obviously some of us are the exception to the rule. Are you using OPKs long?

joylondon · 05/02/2019 18:24

@ImMeantToBeWorking I wasn't going to start either haha. My friend just got pregnant and gave me her left over OPK's! I've been curious about my ovulation date anyhow so maybe this will shed some light. I know my temp does rise... so in theory that should mark ovulation. Just a bit uneasy about it being so late in my cycle. I've read that it's harder for implantation if the luteal phase is short.
