Hi All,

In the tww of my first cycle trying for my first baby.... learning so much reading through some of these threads! Would be lovely to have people to talk to that are going through the same thing!

Bugger. Regretting spending the money on the pregnacare now! Amazon had a deal on his and hers. DH is keen to take vitamins too.

I worry about not starting earlier too. Himself wanted to try a lot earlier. But it seemed/seems very daunting!

Re the folic acid. Are you meant to take it right through the pregnancy and beyond?

stitchwitch84 · 30/01/2019 10:59

@mrsawhite before conception and during first trimester, as I understand it.

Thanks for the sympathy! I am feeling a bit daft but also very stressed and pressured so I'm trying to go easy on myself. Doing the laundry and doing some more Stuff Sorting - we have way too much clutter in this house! Need to find my inner Marie Kondo!

mrsawhite · 30/01/2019 11:02

It is a lot of pressure isn't it.

Love the idea of Marie Kondo! Just need to actually motivate myself to fold everything up! We had a good sort out before he went to sea last month. It does feel good!

careynurse · 30/01/2019 11:13

I've added my temp in this morning and Fertility Friend has now got rid of my cross line and ovulation day! How to kick a girl when she's down!
Positives are: don't feel like AF is coming- due tomorrow and no spotting this month- which is a massive improvement for me. Temp has just dramatically come down- I've been temping for months and never got this! It had me down as D15 as ovulation which matches every other month....what's going on?
I'd be convinced this was my month if this wasn't my chart!
(Started coming down when I went away with friends for a hot tub weekend and a few drinks- feeling majorly guilty as it's probably because of this!)

@mrsawhite I do like KonMari style folding! I find it very therapeutic, and it means I can see everything in my drawers - and I can fit all my knickers, bras and vests into one drawer of a bedside cabinet rather than three separate drawers like I used to Grin

Not that this has much to do with TTC, besides giving me a stress outlet. I'm trying not to hold onto hope that I might still be in, as I'm almost 100% certain that I'm out. Not due till Saturday though so still got to wait. Argh!

stitchwitch84 · 30/01/2019 11:28

@careynurse I have to confess I don't understand temping very well - I've been letting my app get on with it without worrying about the science! I intend to go away and do some thorough reading on the subject shortly 😆 I wish I had sth else to contribute for you!

mrsawhite · 30/01/2019 11:38

I think I might go and try it! Have a day off today. Love looking at Instagram hashtags of it!

I don't understand the temp thing either. My app annoyingly said it was going to adjust my ovulation time next month based on data from this month.

Goodyear2019 · 31/01/2019 08:21

That's my temp dropped below the line this morning and had spotting yesterday so 99.9% sure I'm out for this month. Oh well, on to next month!
Might have to look into this Marie Kondo thing, definitely need something to distract myself for a little while.

hcopp · 31/01/2019 08:29

@goodyear2019 I'm sorry to hear that. You're right, distraction is 100% necessary. I think I'll end up being on and off here a bit over the course of each month, as I think constantly scanning messages and seeing other people's BFPs probably isn't the healthiest thing.

Relax and have some you time, see you back here in a few weeks?! 😊 xx

Goodyear2019 · 31/01/2019 08:43

@hcopp I think you're right, it can get a bit all consuming can't it. Think I need to have some sort of activity/project each month to give me something else to think about.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else!

stitchwitch84 · 31/01/2019 08:43

Well, I'm out - period arrived this morning. Still, I know now that I've started getting pre-period cramps so I won't confuse them with implantation, and the other good news is that my energy levels are still up, which is great for someone with CFS! 😆

Housework and desk work day today, and then plans for Feb shall start. Apparently I'm meant to ovulate on Valentine's Day - haha! 😆 Good thing my husband moved our church meeting that evening!

S311 · 31/01/2019 08:56

@stitchwitch84 sorry to hear that. Sending lots of baby dust your way for your next cycle Flowers

CaramelCluster · 31/01/2019 09:06

@stitchwitch84 @Goodyear2019 really sorry to hear about temp drop and AF arriving. Sending you lots of luck and baby dust for the next cycle! 🤞🏽

Tchelsea · 31/01/2019 09:08

Right, February will be THE month all!!

Goodyear2019 · 31/01/2019 09:30

Sorry to hear that @stitchwitch84 it sucks doesn't it :-(
Thanks @CaramelCluster

Definitely February is the month @Tchelsea :-) Hopefully it'll be lucky cycle #8 for me lol!
Almost the weekend so looking forward to some chilling out time... hope everyone has a fab day!

stitchwitch84 · 31/01/2019 09:39

@Goodyear2019 I like the idea of having a project for each month - that seems really sensible and practical. I can't commit to long term projects as I am too scatty to maintain the concentration, but I do love having something to focus on. In cycle 1 it was making baby stuff, obviously 🤦‍♀️😆 and this cycle I'm watching my calorie intake (to avoid sugar spikes more than anything else) and that seems to be working in terms of a project to focus on and distract myself.

Sadly KonMari style decluttering has to be a more long-term project, given that my dear husband has lived alone in this vicarage for 15 years and is seemingly immune to getting rid of stuff!

joylondon · 31/01/2019 10:17

Hope you don't mind if I join this thread...

I'm TTC #1, 30 and pretty new to all this. Just started temping this month using Natural cycles.

@stitchwitch84 I also have chronic pain, and really struggling at the moment. Really good to find someone in a similar situation! It would be the absolute best thing to pregnant AND pain go away 🙈

Random question - anyone taking pregnacare and feeling v emotional? Can vitamins do that?! I swear they are making me cry.

Goodyear2019 · 31/01/2019 10:56

Oh dear @stitchwitch84 maybe you'll need to start with one cupboard per week lol!
Hi @joylondon I've been taking pregnacare since we starting TTC. I can't say that it makes me emotional, well not anymore than my usual monthly emotional week! Maybe you could try a different brand? Or I think some of the ladies on here take individual vitamins rather than the combined tablets. Good luck :-)

stitchwitch84 · 31/01/2019 11:03

@joylondon hi Joy! It's great to meet somebody else in a similar situation! When I got pregnant back in Nov, my pain and fatigue went away completely and I was so energetic and feeling well (apart from nausea!) but it did come back again after the miscarriage. I am hoping that the hormonal upheaval of pregnancy might kick my fatigue levels etc back into some sort of regular order, but it's a bit uncertain.

Period cramps, deep sigh!

TTC FIRST BABY Thread 12

S311 · 31/01/2019 11:39

Another negative test today and no sign of AF. Went to the doctor as I'm worried (why am I feeling sick if I'm not pregnant). She said it's very unlikely I would get a false negative result at day 32 of my cycle. She thinks my nausea is acid buildup due to stress. To set my mind at ease she took a blood test and can tell me, hopefully tomorrow, whether I am decisively pregnant. Otherwise got a prescription to help with the nausea.

I think I should quit my job Grin

Tchelsea · 31/01/2019 12:03

Hi @joylondon welcome! I don't take pregnacare, I'm just on folic acid so I'm afraid I can't help you on that one. Hopefully someone else will have some good advice for you!

@S311 Did she say that could also be the reason your AF hasn't arrived yet? I definitely think quitting work and living in the Caribbean for a few months would help!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 31/01/2019 13:43

Hello all, I am TTC#1 on Cycle 1 too. Not temping or using OPKs yet as we want to see if it will just happen (although the control freak side of me hates this)

Ovlated yesterday, due to weather DP didn't get home so first thing Friday evening we are DTD. lol

Best of luck to all on here, hopefully we will all have our BFP soon.

ImMeantToBeWorking · 31/01/2019 13:45

If I was to start temping, what are people using? I read an article that listed the 10 best, the one they had as the best had terrible reviews on amazon! I am just taking folic acid for the moment!

Goodyear2019 · 31/01/2019 14:41

Hi @ImMeantToBeWorking I bought this one from Amazon. It's easy to use and seems to do the job!
www.amazon.co.uk/Body-Basal-Thermometer-Fertility-Thermometers/dp/B07JWG1328/ref=sr_1_32_a_it?keywords=bbt+thermometer+for+ovulation&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1548945565&sr=8-32

I originally recorded my temp on a chart that I printed off online but now I record it in my Ovia fertility app
