@Tchelsea I'm going to stick to my normal routine. Not sure if there's anything different we can be doing really.
I've got an appointment with my GP, earliest I could get is a few weeks away. By that time I'll have been through another cycle.

Tchelsea · 29/04/2019 15:27

@Danimarie I'm not too bad thanks... IN my TWW but not hopeful this month. Only managed to DTD once during my fertile window! How are you feeling?

@als2912 fingers crossed and lots of baby dust!

@Goodyear2019 It's awful it takes so long to get an appointment! How are you feeling?

Goodyear2019 · 30/04/2019 08:57

@Tchelsea You never know, it only takes that one time, will keep my fingers crossed for you! I'm feeling ok, I'm glad I made the appointment, by the time it comes round I'll only be one month short of having tried for 12 months so hoping the GP agrees to refer us for tests or something

Tchelsea · 30/04/2019 09:24

@Goodyear2019 Definitely make sure you fight your corner if they don't! I've heard from a few people that they are reluctant to send people for tests... I don't think they quite realise the pain and trauma of all of this!

OP posts:
Goodyear2019 · 30/04/2019 09:46

@Tchelsea I will do, I'm going to see my normal GP and she's usually really good to deal with.
Does anyone know what type of tests I or my DH can expect to be referred for? Or what I should be asking for?

als2912 · 30/04/2019 12:42

@Tchelsea glad I'm not the only one who only just managed to DTD 🙈only managed it twice in fertile window so I don't know if that's going to be enough for this month 👎🏼

@Goodyear2019 I'm not too sure what they would normally test for but whatever they do I hope everything goes well for you x

Tchelsea · 01/05/2019 08:30

@Goodyear2019 No I'm not really sure. One of my friends took nearly 2 years to conceive and it was because she wasn't ovulating so I think ovulation is the best place to start, and also a sperm check?

@als2912 Sometimes life just gets in the way doesn't it! I've told DH that if we haven't conceived this month we literally have to triple our attempts next month... Lol let's see if that happens!

als2912 · 01/05/2019 09:36

@Tchelsea yes definitely! haha that's what I said to my OH too 😂

Tchelsea · 01/05/2019 14:15

So I've just been reading up on Mayan massages for fertility. Has anyone heard of these or had one?

OP posts:
als2912 · 01/05/2019 15:26

@Tchelsea can't say I have to be honest! I've recently found out though that you can sometimes find a pattern in your resting heart beat of when you've ovulated and if AF is likely to arrive or not. It's mainly using a fit bit but I assume it would work if you had a different type of smart or fitness watch - it's quite interesting!

Goodyear2019 · 01/05/2019 20:39

I haven't heard of those massages either but would be interested to see what you think if you try it, I think complimentary therapy treatments can be great, even just for relaxation

Danimarie · 01/05/2019 20:56

@Goodyear2019 good luck for your appointment. It’s really good you’ve got it soon!

I haven’t heard of those massages either! But it can’t hurt and relaxation is always a positive!

I’m just entering my fertile window, going away with the family this weekend so will be tricky and OH is away the following weekend so hopefully we get some time in between!

Tchelsea · 02/05/2019 09:05

So apparently these massages help to stimulate your uterus and the organs in your abdomen which helps regulate your menstrual cycle and also helps with fertility!

@als2912 That's really interesting! Would be great if a fitbit could help us tell if we've ovulated rather than paying for opk's etc!!

@Danimarie good luck!!!

OP posts:
als2912 · 02/05/2019 09:21

@Tchelsea yeah definitely! Apparently it dips slightly before ovulation, spikes for ovulation, climbs till AF is due then if AF arrives it will start to drop again or if pregnant then it will keep going up! So definitely something I'm going to have a look in to and see if I get any patterns appearing 😊

Tchelsea · 03/05/2019 10:34

@Goodyear2019 I've just been looking through my Glow app, and it has a section called "fertility tests"... what they have listed there is;

-Cycle day 3 blood work: E2 (estrogen), FSH (Folicle stimulating hormone), LH (luteinizing hormone), PRL (Prolactin), SH (Thyroid stomulating hormone), AMH (Antimullarian hormone)
-Vaginal ultrasound
-Hysterosalpingogram (looks at the inside of the uterus and the fallopian tubes)
-Saline sonohysterogram (ultrasound looking at the endometrial cavity)
-Ovarian reserve testing (looks at how many eggs remaining)

Tests for your partner

  • Semen analysis

I hope that helps, I saw it and thought of you! Sorry if it's a bit long winded but wanted to get all the info in there!

Goodyear2019 · 03/05/2019 11:35

Aww thank you @TChelsea that's really useful, I'll keep a note for my GP appointment. I would be keen for them to check my egg quality/reserves as I'm very conscious of the fact I'm in my mid 30s now and those things do start to decline with age

Hi all,

Just some news this morning. I’ve felt really crappy and had the WORST back ache since Thursday (day before AF was due), which I never get.... no symptoms at all other than a slightly nervous feeling and cramps in my lower pelvis.

Well period never arrived so tested today....

Congratulations!!!! That's amazing news, you must be so excited. Delighted that someone on here has finally got their BFP!

Tchelsea · 05/05/2019 08:06

@Goodyear2019 thank you so much! Yes I’m just a bit floored tbh!! Think it will take some time to sink in!!! I won’t be going anywhere though, I would really love to see everyone get their BFPs!!!

Please do stay, it would be great to hear how you're getting on and you let the rest of us know what to expect when our time comes!

Goodyear2019 · 05/05/2019 08:48

I got a smiley face on a OPK yesterday but weren't able to DTD last night. I'm hoping it's enough if we get tonight and tomorrow. We also managed Wednesday and Friday so really hope we've covered all bases this month!

als2912 · 05/05/2019 11:06

@Tchelsea congratulations! That's amazing news! so happy for you xx
