@Tchelsea 100%! it's so hard to stick to your guns and say to yourself nope I'm going to wait till it's late 😂 the feeling of not knowing just eats away at you that's for sure!

@joylondon fingers crossed for you! 😊

Goodyear2019 · 15/03/2019 17:53

Really hoping you get some good news @joylondon!
If I had tests at home I definitely wouldn't be able to resist, I've got no willpower, its best I dont buy any, haha!

Brighton85 · 15/03/2019 21:12

Hi all,
My partner and I are on cycle 3 of TTC baby no1. AF is literally knocking on the door (spotting has started so I know I’m out this month). We are supposed to be taking things easy and seeing what happens but of course I am tracking ovulation and am ck soldering trying an OPK. I think my cycle is more like 26 days rather than 28. Which I think would mean that I would ovulate about 12 days post AF. I don’t know. I don’t feel so alone reading all your comments and stories. Lots of baby dust for you all and I hope to see some good news soon ladies 💜

Goodyear2019 · 16/03/2019 08:22

Welcome @Brighton85 it's so hard to 'take it easy' when you want it so much. I find some months harder than others.

Tchelsea · 18/03/2019 08:46

@joylondon Ooohhhh let's hope you're the first!! Keeping my fingers crossed!!

@als2912 I think that's the one for me... the not knowing!! Why can't our bodies just tell us on Ovulation day if it's happened or not! Why must they torture us???

Welcome @Brighton85 how are you feeling? Has AF appeared?

Tchelsea · 18/03/2019 09:15

Aaaannnndddd I'm out this cycle ladies!! AF decided to come early, yay!

Goodyear2019 · 18/03/2019 10:05

@Tchelsea so sorry, hope you're ok, I know it's really disappointing. I always try to do something nice for myself when I get AF as it feels so crap, even if it's just having nice cake with my cuppa.

@joylondon how are you feeling?

I'm now in the dreaded TWW, although it might as well be two months as time seems to drag so much haha!

joylondon · 18/03/2019 10:40

@Tchelsea Ughh no! I'm sorry. It's so discouraging...such a let down. I know I'll be gutted this time too.

@Goodyear2019 I'm 10Dpo... on CD24. Boobs still sore (increasingly since O) and still getting cramps and lower back pain. My app says I'm due on Friday. Really trying not to get my hopes up, which is of course not working. Gonna try and hold out as long as I can and see if things die down or increase. Kinda tricky when IBS gives me nausea and cramps haha. Impossible to tell what's going on. Hope you manage to be less neurotic than me this time!

joylondon · 18/03/2019 10:41

@Brighton85 welcome! 😊

als2912 · 18/03/2019 10:43

@Brighton85 hi! I'm in the same sort of area as you I'm just starting cycle 4 on ttc 1st baby, it's definitely good to have people to talk to in similar situations!

@Tchelsea oh no ☹️ As @Goodyear2019 says I hope you're okay and a treat is definitely a good idea at this time, try and keep your spirits up! we will all get there xx

@Goodyear2019 the dreaded tww! hope it doesn't drag too much for you! 😊

Tchelsea · 18/03/2019 11:17

Thanks Ladies! After the initial teary eye when I saw AF, I'm ok... I think I might treat myself to a sandwich at lunch (try not to eat bread during the week!). Think we need to start tracking temps or using OPKs cause we're literally just going on apps and know they can be unreliable!!

@Goodyear2019 the WORST!!

@joylondon I really am keeping my fingers crossed for you, it would be the most amazing news if one of us got that BFP soon!!

@als2912 thank you! Definitely agree with you!

Don't know about you guys, but since getting married I'm constantly getting comments like 'are you going to have a baby', 'when are you going to have a baby', 'do you want kids', 'why don't you have kids', 'you'll need to get a move on if you want to have a baby' etc etc. More often than not I'm getting asked by people I hardly know, or don't know at all in some cases, and sometimes I find it really upsetting/hurtful. However, I'm very much trying to not let it bother me and to laugh it off, so asking in a very light-hearted way... have any of you been asked things like this is a funny/weird setting?

I'll start, I was asked by three different people (two of whom I'd never met) when I was at an elderly relatives funeral!! In what world is that an appropriate time to ask when I'm going to have a baby haha!!

Tchelsea · 18/03/2019 12:18

@Goodyear2019 I'm in EXACTLY the same boat as you! Whenever I see someone I haven't seen for a week or two, they always ask me if I'm pregnant yet. It's so disheartening! When I went to football last week (for my sins I have a season ticket at a Premier League club), I was asked by no less than 4 people if there was a baby on the way yet! I only got married in October!!

A funeral is the most inappropriate place!! What is wrong with people!??

OP posts:
als2912 · 18/03/2019 12:40

@Goodyear2019 I'm not married myself so I haven't had too much of this to be totally honest, but I have heard from lots of other people that this has happened to them. It just makes me wonder why people think it's ok to ask something that I think is a very private matter (especially when in public), as you never know what people's circumstances are!

It's like they think they're just entitled to know but probably wouldn't talk to you in a normal everyday situation!

Goodyear2019 · 18/03/2019 12:59

When people ask me if I'm pregnant I get paranoid that I've put on weight...or am wearing a really unflattering top lol!
Believe it or not someone actually asked me at my wedding reception, I felt like telling them to f-off, I'd only been married for 5 mins and had barely cut the cake!

Hoping87 · 18/03/2019 13:26

I get this constantly, will have been married for 2 years in April but we have been together for 14 years so have people asking “when are you going to have a baby?” on a regular basis! Hence why we’re not telling anyone we’re trying!!

Goodyear2019 · 18/03/2019 13:47

@Hoping87 that must drive you nuts!
My 'favourite' comment came from a relative of my husband. He said to me (quite out of the blue as we hadn't been taking about babies/pregnancy), "you'll probably end up massive when you're pregnant". He found this funny, needless to say, I did not!

Tchelsea · 18/03/2019 14:30

@Goodyear2019 Ugh! That's so gross! What is wrong with people????

@Hoping87 Definitely think not telling people is the best way! Only 3 people apart from me and DH know we're trying! Couldn't deal with the expectant faces every month!

OP posts:
Goodyear2019 · 18/03/2019 15:06

I try to let it go over my head and just laugh it off afterwards, but I find it particularly upsetting when people ask why I haven't had a baby, not only is it none of their business, it's such an emotional subject.

I agree @Tchelsea it's bad enough managing my own disappointment every month, never mind other people's expectations!

joylondon · 19/03/2019 08:43

Oh wow, people are clueless aren't they?!

Well I'm pretty sure I'm out again... I've had some brown CM, and a temperature dip. It's 11dpo, I'm not holding out hope it's implantation. (I have read there's a temp drop at implantation for 1 day). I've had quite a lot of back pain and cramping, too much I reckon for implantation. X

Tchelsea · 19/03/2019 09:44

Keep us posted @joylondon you never know!!

@Goodyear2019 Let's hope people start to realise it's literally none of their business!

I ordered a bbt thermometer yesterday which should arrive today, let's see if I can figure this out!

OP posts:
als2912 · 19/03/2019 10:36

@joylondon it's never over until AF appears 🤞🏼keeping my hopes up for you x

@Tchelsea oo sounds interesting, let us know how you get on with figuring it out (I don't have a clue), I've ordered some OPK's to try this cycle, never tried them before either

Tchelsea · 20/03/2019 12:34

So day one of the thermometer was awful! I couldn't figure it out at 5am this morning and realised I probably should have looked at it and figured out how it worked last night! So we go again tomorrow!

OP posts:
joylondon · 20/03/2019 17:04

Definitely out today. Feeling a bit flat but not as bad as yesterday. It gets harder every month. Still... only cycle 4 now.

joylondon · 20/03/2019 17:10

@Tchelsea I mean you probably know this.... but try calibrating your therm first. Take your temp three times and check it's around the same (first decimal place should be the same and there may be slight variation on second). Put it in the same position each time, usually they beep when they've got it.
