Dickie.. Also meant to say sorry to hear of your mc at 8 wks. I had 2 mcs both at 6-8 wks and we'd given up ttc when DS happened!

Ok so looking at my ava data, af is coming on Weds, which brings me back to a 11 day LP (phew!) So vitex has not extended my LP but together with stopping the DHEA it's brought it back to normal levels, which is a relief.
So looking at dates, my hycosy will be on cd16 next cycle. Pants! Means we'll not likely get a chance to even trynext cycle. Feel I shouldn't be wasting a cycle just before I turn 42 but also just want to get the hycosy done.
I really hope I get some answers and some help from the clinic. If thet don't suggest IVF or IUI, do you think I may be offered progesterone pesseries? Or clomid? Do clinics offer medications without procedures?

onemorego2019 · 13/01/2019 09:17

Af due on Saturday but feels like on her way now. Lower back pain 🙁 generally feeling off like I'm coming down with something. Time will tell I guess humph

Morning ladies,

So ive had a weird week. I had what i thought was lh surge last weekend and thought id ovulated. But my temps didn't rise this week so was so confused. I thought i was having an annovulatory cycle.

Anyhow, i was testing in the mornings this week with opks to just make sure i hadnt missed anything. I had nothing/negative yesterday morning so thought nothing of it although i did seem to have lots of cm last night. However, I woke up this morning and saw a strong line which was confirmed by the cb digital - peak day. As a result i jumped on dh within the hour. My question is, did i leave it too late? We didnt dtd in the 5 days before as dh was working and to be honest thought we'd missed the boat (we are really crap with spontaneity currently). Perhaps my surge already started yesterday afternoon, which ive heard it can do in the afternoons (when i didn't test) and now it is too late? Weirdly though, i had a strange dream this morning before i woke up that i was getting jiggy with dh (does anyone have this?) so maybe i ovulated then and his swimmers have 12 hrs to make it to the egg in time before it dies?

I honestly feel the day before ovulation is the best which would have been last night, but then this is only around 8 hrs later? I also had a glass of wine ladt night which prob didnt help.

Omg this is far too stressful. I can't believe how badly this all is going..

Snowie3 · 13/01/2019 09:43

I have tried to cut down on my exposure to chemicals i.e. hygiene/beauty products, eat more orgnanic etc though not sure if it has helped in anyway maybe for my overall health at least which of course is good. Although my make up doesn't look as good as it used to and prob my hair a little. But there is so much to think about!!

Snowie3 · 13/01/2019 09:50

@cleo good news about the lp! sorry whats a hycosy?

I think what they offer you will depend on the case you will have to see what they suggest. Are you in a position to do ivf?

That's funny as i spoke to my FS about letrozole (similar to clomid) to use when trying naturally after last failed ivf and she wrote me a prescription there and then. I am still wondering whether to take it. Does anyone have any experience of this does it increase chances naturally?

I know how you feel about missing cycles, it's so hard but i suppose you have to follow the advice of the FS.

Hope you're doing ok

Chatbash72 · 13/01/2019 10:54

@Snowie3 it only takes one... we can try it few days before, on bang on time.. sadly it just pot luck.. but you have dtd so you have swimmers on there way 🤞
Can someone tell my flossing ( not the dance) is good for egg quality or fertility? I do it everyday anyway.. just interested

Realitysucks · 13/01/2019 11:12

@cleozeta is it an nhs clinic? If not surely it’s your choice to go to ivf. We are paying privately, we chose to go straight to ivf after my AMH result , given my age and I’m a year younger than you.

Presh12345 · 13/01/2019 11:27

In the waiting area for my doc.....again. Ready to start the procedures for iui#3

Cleozeta · 13/01/2019 11:31

Snowie - hycosy is the procedure they do to check for any tube blockages etc. You are not allowed to dtd until after the procedure, but in my case that will probably be after ov, so means not trying for the first cycle in over 2 years!!
Reality - it's a private clinic, but I'm hoping they'll advise on what I should do for my personal circumstance based on test results etc. IVF or IUI may not be advised, but I'm hoping they may suggest medication if not.

Cleozeta · 13/01/2019 11:37

Snowie - I think if you dtd the day of ovulation you should be fine, also just because you had your peak today does not necessarily mean you will ovulate on the same day, it can often be a day or 2 (or in my case this cycle 3) - days after peak. Keep any eye on your temps and see what happens - but yep, totally stressful!

Presh - good luck!

Realitysucks · 13/01/2019 12:17

@Presh12345 good luck x

@Cleozeta yes ok see what you mean. I know a few people that have been given clomid/gel before treatment advised so yes some clinics do offer medication first.

karryk · 13/01/2019 15:21

@Snowie3 I was given some by a private clinic a few months before dd was conceived - I didn't actually use it but did dig it out last year when I suspected I wasn't ovulating. I decided to give it a bash and whether it's coincidence or not, that was the month I got my bfp albeit it ended with an early mc. I'm going to not try it next time, just because I want to see what happens without it. I didn't have any side-effects or anything it was mostly out of curiosity!

SparrowSG · 13/01/2019 15:54

Snowie I took Letrozole at the beginning of my last IVF treatment (Dr was aiming for gentle stimms). I took two 2.5mg tablets a day (one morning, one eve) and ended up with two good sized follicles. Which for me with such low stimulation was good.
FYI, I bought myself more Letrozle whilst on holiday in Cyprus last summer, but never got round to starting it as I wanted to get a bit healthier first with other supplements etc. You can buy this and progesterone over the counter in Greece, which annoys me that you cannot do the same here. Hmm

Russkispy · 13/01/2019 17:33

@Presh12345 good luck with IUI! Everything crossed for you!
AFM, AF arrived today, 2 days earlier making this cycle 26 days. Decided not to start another IVF this time around. My dad is coming to visit me on Sunday for 2 weeks. Can't be dealing with him being here and injections, flying out etc etc I'll start next cycle instead. And this time we will just DTD every other day after AF gone and see what happens. I won't OPK, cheaply or digitally as run out of both and won't buying any either. Will continue with supplements, reflexology and acupuncture.

Rose68 · 13/01/2019 18:28

AF has arrived here too Sad

Rose68 · 13/01/2019 18:29

I am 13dpo so it seems the dhea hasn’t massively shortened my LP

Russkispy · 13/01/2019 18:34

@Rose68 , sorry about AF. I've been taking DHEA but don't think it's been affecting my LP
In the meantime finished a blanket for my rainbow/miracle baby whenever that happens to us Smile

Over 40 ttc- lots of baby dust for me!
Rose68 · 13/01/2019 18:36

@Russkispy sorry about AF for you too!
Oh wow, you made that! It’s amazing! I could never do anything like that.

Snowie3 · 13/01/2019 21:56

My opk test strip got darker this afternoon from this morning's sample and it was the same colour as the control line. Does this mean the surge or peak, even though the colour this morning was darker than the other days? It's still so confusing to me as i used to use the cb digis.

I've had problems knowing when i ovulate recently since breastfeeding, miscarriage and the ivf. My ovulation used to be around cd12 before pregnancy and then has been 14/15 and now 20 since. So it's so hard to pinpoint and we struggle dtd every other day for that amount of time to cover all possibilities. Therefore i think I've probably been missing ovulation these past months or not getting close enough. However i think dh is on board for it now. Especially as i thought I'd already ovulated this month!

Is it ok to ovulate on cd20? Isnt this a bit late?

If its maybe already too late by the time you get a peak on the opk how do you know when to dtd?

It's all such a lottery..

PetraRabbit · 13/01/2019 21:57

Russkispy- that's beautiful. An ice cream blanket!!! You have talent! I so hope you get to use it soon.

AF here today for me too. It hasn't been nice. The last couple of days I've had really sore boobs but only behind the nipple which is not at all usual for my premenstrual days...and they're still hurting. Had a good cry obviously.

I thought I'd mention another tip in case anyone here didn't know...my relexologist said to use pads not tampons as it helps detox the body better (something like that). I've been doing this for a year and I still look at my tampon box with longing..... but hopefully it's good for fertility.

Chatbash72 · 13/01/2019 22:09

Ooh big hugs for those with afs'... @Rose68 and @Russkispy and @PetraRabbit
@PetraRabbit yup switched to pads too after hearing this... bloody hate it.. every flipping month I too look longingly at the tampons.., 🤦‍♀️
@Snowie3 I never really got the opk readings.. peaks etc.. sorry not much help.. good luck @Presh12345 xx

Rose68 · 13/01/2019 22:14

Oh God I hate pads! 😩

Russkispy · 13/01/2019 22:14

Another pads user here. My acupuncturist told me back in 2016 when TTC#1, not to use tampons anymore. And it's stuck with me.

karryk · 13/01/2019 22:35

Evening ladies Smile feeling uncharacteristically meh today Blush I thought AF had arrived the other day as I had spotting but now nothing 😖 waiting very impatiently as this is now another long cycle...think we're on day 34 now.

It's been a tiring time with dd as she's spent the last 4 days spiking a temperature and being alternately fine and miserable..I finally got some antibiotics today from the hospital. They taste foul so poor bub wouldn't take them and dh (not having the best day as Spurs lost but come on, let's get some perspective here Hmm) lost his temper at her and said he didn't want another one after all. Later calmed down and said he did because we'd regret not having another. Then went into a little monologue about how he wished he'd had kids young because we'll be dead by the time dd gets married etc. Oh what joyous company I've had tonight 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Sigh.... Oh well.... We plough on, eh 😕 I'm sure it'll all look better in the morning. Think I need some sleep! Fingers crossed dd has a good night 🤞🏼

Hugs to all xx
