Is there any way of getting hold of clomid without a prescription?

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 14:03

Thank you russkispy! My clinic won't give it out unless you aren't ovulating. Crap right?

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 14:05

@Cleo that’s what I was told too ☹️

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 14:15

Rose - rubbish isn't it! Clomid is supposed to help egg quality and help release multiple mature eggs in a cycle. Thats a good thing and can't be done naturally and would seriously help chances! We have limited time left and need all the help we can get, makes no sense that they won't prescribe!

Hobbes39 · 10/02/2019 14:17

@Cleozeta - I'm reluctant to say this in case I do need it and I'm tempting fate, but I have a box of crinone (progesterone gel which comes in applicators for vaginal use) Which I bought during my last preg that ended in MMC - they will be at least enough for one luteal phase support left if this progresses for me this time as I'm planning on stopping in just over a week... if I'm not tempting fate I'd be happy to send you the rest if you like... once I know which way this is going..? X

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 14:48

@Cleozeta and @@Rose68 , I'm giving away Clomid if you want it. Also I can get more from my clinic. Let me know if you want to take it

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 14:53

@Russkispy I would love the clinic, but I know you offered it to Cleo first. Out of interest, why aren’t you taking it? x

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 14:54

@ Russkispy, that was meant to say I would love the clomid, not clinic! 😆

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 14:58

Hobbes - thank you! Hopefully this is it for you now and you are set Smile

Thank you so much Hobbes and Russkispy, you girls are amazing. In fact all the ladies on here are amazing, I've gone through so much in the last 2 years and would have struggled so much with out this place and all the help, support and kindness you have all shown.

I wish there was a magic wand that I could wave to give you all perfect healthy babies this year Flowers

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 15:01

I would love the clomid Russkispy, thank you. And Hobbes the progesterone too, thank you Flowers

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 15:08

@Cleozeta I'll PM shortly.
@Rose68 , I'll be starting IVF next week. On short protocol again, injections to start either Tuesday or Thursday. Just waiting for AF. So no Clomid needed. I'll be then flying home for egg collection and transfer. I'll grab some Clomid for you from my clinic when I'm there. No worries.

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 15:09

@Russkispy, thank you so much! You are amazing! xxx

coppercolouredtop · 10/02/2019 16:21

Just trying to catch up but working wappy shifts.

Just wondering if anyone noticed any fast changes after beginning cq10....

I'm on cd 9 with shed loads of (sorry tmi warning) ewcm.... way more than ever before.
Started cq10 this month , I'm actually temped to do opk this month just to see when I ovulate....

Hobbes39 · 10/02/2019 17:26

I didn't notice anything that quick @coppercolouredtop - but shed loads of ewcm means your Estrogen is peaking (which is prior to ov) so get DTD!
@Cleozeta - once I feel more confident that this pregnancy is going to stick (won't be before 12 week scan, so 5 weeks) I'm happy to send on my progesterone as you don't need to be monitored using it or anything, so I can't see how it will do any harm - will pm you in a few weeks if everything still ok by then (if I don't, then pm me to remind me!) with the clinic from @Russkispy - will you tell your doc? I think ideally you'd be monitored for clomid..? X
@Letsdothis43 - how are you today? I don't know your drugs that you were on, but were you short protocol? I did long protocol, and my clinic actually says they get the best results for people our age with it - it may be worth asking about changing protocol? Alternatively - supposedly some people respond to some drugs better than others, so it could be that you might just be better on a different stim drug - it's trial and error unfortunately... good luck xx

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 17:57

Thanks russkispy

Hobbes - of course, happy to wait until you've had confirmation that all is good Smile

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 18:36

@hobbes39, I took Clomid for a IUI and my scan then trigger. Back in 2016 and 2018. Then one cycle I took Clomid and natural TTC. Yes, I told my doc about it and she was fine with it. Now I’ve got Clomid left over as will be starting Gonal injections this week. No AF today, maybe tomorrow.

coppercolouredtop · 10/02/2019 19:02

Ladies - now I've been wondering about clomid - it sounds like if I'm still ovulating they wouldn't give it?

Things must have changed since my mid 20s it was dead easy to get ☹️

I had wondered if it was worth asking about it but even my gp nearly laughs me out the room if I say I'm still trying...

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 19:26

@coppercolouredtop , I've been ovulating every month and even then I was given Clomid for all my IUIs. I trusted my doctor and was taking whatever she prescribed/given at the clinic. But all my treatments were done privately and abroad (back home). But I believe an NHS GP doesn't prescribe anything like that willy-nilly.

Chatbash72 · 10/02/2019 19:36

@coppercolouredtop get busy !!

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 21:04

I was told they would no longer hand out clomid ‘like smarties’ if you were ovulating

coppercolouredtop · 10/02/2019 22:59

i will be but he is on nights! ggrrrr! im going to do clearblue opk tomorrow and try and get an idea if im ovulating.

its been almost 3 years since i got pg. my cycle is regular. we still dtd like honeymooners! maybe its just not to be.

(but.... can clomid be bought privately? )

Rose68 · 11/02/2019 09:42

@Russkispy did you take clomid on cds 3 to 7 or cds 5 to 9?
I think I am reading that cd3-7 makes you ovulate more and cd5-9 helps with egg quality? Also did you have any side effects on it? Like moodiness? x

Iusedtobecarmen · 11/02/2019 10:05

Well I'm on day 13 of constant bleeding now.
I'm mighty pissed off, want it to stop so I can try and get back to normal and getting my OPKs out and testing again
That's if I get back normal again
A couple if questions regarding supplements
Currently taking co q10,folic acid
B12,vitamin D and C and aspirin
Have previously been on Angus castus but not at the min. I've just finished off my DHEA and haven't got any more. Up until this month though my periods have been pretty much ok. How do i know what's doing any good and what isn't and whether to add any more??
I guess the thing to do would be add one thing at a time but I don't have time for that!!any suggestions?
I agree with posters who have said most women who have got pg late 40s seem to have done so accidently and it's a complete surprise.
I've done a bit of working out this morning and I reckon I've got a maximum of about a 6 mth window for this to happen before I really am too old.

Also, all this talk of Clomid. Is it worth taking it randomly?
I imagine I could get it off the internet. Or .could it do more harm/be no use?
I should know the answer to this question but i dont!

Harveyrabbit76 · 11/02/2019 10:09

Hi, if anyone would like some progesterone please pm me. I have a few boxes left over from my pregnancy. Best of luck to everyone!

mondaycando1 · 11/02/2019 10:46

So I am still feeling premenstrual even though I am about 5 days late (26/30 day cycle) so whizzed into the only place I could on way to work which was £land so not a high end test or fmu but am sure I can see something having just done a test. I am now going to have to wait til the morning to test again!
