Thanks @Rose68 just going to give it a bit more time is it possible you could bleed and be pregnant?

MrsDilligaf · 09/02/2019 16:20

Hi,

Would you mind if I joined you?

My DD will be 3 at the end of Feb and I'll be 45 in April. DH and I have decided to have try until I get to 46, and if nothing happens by then we're okay with it.

I'm due to ovulate again on 17th and have got my OPK sticks at the ready and have been taking folic acid, multi vits and EPO for a few months now.

Wow. That's the first time I've actually "told" anyone we're trying Smile

Chatbash72 · 09/02/2019 17:52

Chatbash72 · 09/02/2019 18:03

Last one promise.. 🤣🤣 after night shift, having been awake since yesterday morning hubby thought that trying to even suggest dtd this morning as I climbed into bed was a genius idea... he's got balls I'll give him that!! 🤣🤣 now ovaries are already twinging on day 7.. I'll have to try and keep awake this eve, but he's been such an idiot today.. I'll have to try and ignore that for the sake of my ovaries.. 🤦‍♀️

Lexilooo · 09/02/2019 20:57

Welcome @MrsDilligaf I haven't told anyone but Mumsnet that we're trying either!😂

coppercolouredtop · 09/02/2019 22:01

When do you decide to stop?

I'm 47!this month but still ovulating with a regular cycle.

Seems anyone who caught at this age did so accidentally.

I'm wondering if the pressure would be off if I just said no more! I'm ok with that.

Chatbash72 · 09/02/2019 23:16

@coppercolouredtop personally we have decided not too.. we are just enjoying contraceptive free sex.. just turned 46... and gonna see what happens x

littlemimosa · 09/02/2019 23:22

Welcome all newbies. It’s so good to have more and more of us on board. Good luck ladies.

Sorry I’ve been quiet. I’m in a dark place with all this. I’m realising how messed up my cycles are at only 42 and it’s getting me down. Just been looking on my app and I’ve not had consistent cycles for a couple of years now. One month 21 days, next month 45 days, next month 27 days, next month 60 days, next month 23 days and on and on 😢 it’s so depressing. I seem to alternate between ovulating stupidly early or stupidly late these days. I’m grieving my old regular 28 day cycles. I thought TCM was helping (& it has definitely helped with easing the hot flashes) but here I am again day 16/17 and dry as a bone. Im thinking of throwing in the towel. I mean we can still have unprotected sex but I’m so over all the supplements and shit. Sorry to be so negative ladies. I may feel differently if I ovulate soon but right now it all feels hopeless.

Orchid - I keep wondering about you and how you are. Please come back to let us know you’re ok x

karryk · 10/02/2019 06:51

Hello 😊 just popping by...big hello to our new ladies. This place keeps me sane Grin

In the tww still...think around 8dpo Hmm had a mild bit of cramping the other day but then nothing so think nothing will happen this month. Sensing the sand running through the hourglass (!) but I'm due to have a short trip to India in March to take mum's ashes so a part of me doesn't want to be pregnant then as I'll just be paranoid about the effect of the trip and all the emotions 😔

Good luck to everyone waiting to test or scan ❤️ xx

MrsDilligaf · 10/02/2019 08:34

Morning all Smile Hope you're having a good weekend. I'm having morning snuggles with DD - say snuggles, I mean her leaping all over me in bed. This is DH's weekend on shift so I've hardly seen him. DD and I have had a girly weekend and it's been lovely. (house looks like a pigsty though Confused)

I'm trying to imagine what our lives will be like if our family expands... I know one thing though. We'll need a bigger bed. DD manages to make this one feel small!

KristieP2018 · 10/02/2019 08:43

Morning all. Still nothing today. Refuse to test with no symptoms. Still have zero appetite. Most I ate yesterday was a burger for supper. Starting to feel really down. Just waiting to AF which is due Thursday. How’s everyone?

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 08:54

Mimosa - please don't give up. I know how frustrating it must be, my cycles haven't been right for a few years either. My latest was only 23 days, no idea what this next one will bring, so I understand how you feel. Have you considered any further testing or medical intervention? Maybe something like clomid may help you ovulate more regularly?

Welcome newbies, good luck to everyone

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 09:15

@Littlemimosa I’m so sorry you are feeling low, I completely understand and tbh am feeling very similar myself even tho my cycles are regular. Not much use having regular cycles if you still can’t conceive. As Cleo said maybe it’s time to try something new? Maybe make an appointment with your gp?

@Cleo 23 days isn’t that short, mine are only 26 and I think this month was 25. The first part of my cycle has definitely got longer and my LP has got shorter. I’m ovulating on day 14 with a LP of 12 days (this month 11.5 days). I guess it’s not that different to the 13 / 13 split that it was before, but I’m guessing it’s the dhea.

@coppercoloredtop I have no idea how make peace with this longing for another child. Tbh it’s killing me as I suspect it is most of us on here. Sorry, I know that’s no help. x

Iusedtobecarmen · 10/02/2019 10:01

chatbash lol true about Rachel Weiss but guessing she probably had fertility treatment of some description.

Iusedtobecarmen · 10/02/2019 10:04

mrsdilligaf
No one knows about me either, not even my sister. People did know a few yrs ago but I've been deliberately vague since.
Now I'm 48 no one really asks now. Presume I've given up or I'm too oldAngry
I've wasted so much time but actively trying

Iusedtobecarmen · 10/02/2019 10:10

rose
I feel the same.
I'm blessed I know,as have 3 dc. But it doesn't stop the longing.
And in my case it's my own fault

Half heartedly been trying past few years, oblivious to my age and acting like I'm in my twenties not forties. Now suddenly im fricking approaching 50.
I genuinely believe that I'd have conceived had I actively tried. Now I may never know.
Think I could accept it if I'd given it my all like some of you on here. But i havent

olivia12 · 10/02/2019 10:17

Thank you @chatbash72 guys are mysterious creatures 😂

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 10:54

Rose - I think the dhea does change things slightly, I've been back on it this month, at a lower dose. Last month I ovulated cd14 with a 9 day lp. Previous to that, on a higher dose of dhea I ovulated cd18 with 9 day lp

Rose68 · 10/02/2019 11:21

I’m still taking 75mgs a day, in for a penny in for a pound and all that. x

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 12:03

@Letsdothis43 I'm sorry to hear about BFN.
What would be your next plan? If any at all. Sorry I've asked. And hope you're ok, considering.
We TTC naturally this month and never had any symptoms while in 2ww. (AF or possible pregnancy symptoms), took a HPT this morning and it's BFN. I didn't track OV and no idea how many dpo I'm now. CD29 today and I'm sure it won't be BFP this cycle. Last cycle I had only 26 days. Anyway, just waiting for AF then starting injections for a fresh round of IVF. Will be flying home for EC and ET. Providing all going well.
Back to reflexology and acupuncture next week. And continue with all supplements

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 12:37

Has anyone here tried IUI? What were your experiences of it and do you think it's worthwhile?

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 12:53

@Cleozeta I had my first ever IUI in 2016. I was 40 and it worked! Now I've got my 20 old months DD.
Had my second IUI last May. Also BFP but ended in MMC. I was 42.
Then had unsuccessful IUI last October and November.
I was taking Clomid cd5-9. Trigger and then IUI. Had all my treatments back at home.

Cleozeta · 10/02/2019 13:09

That sounds promising russkispy. I really want to try it but the crap doctor at the clinic said I didn't need it. Apart from the fact that I am 42 next week I need all the chances I can get! I really want to try clomid for the extra egg quality and egg release, plus the progesterone for my 9 day lp. I think it sounds ideal and the crap doctor doesn't know she's talking about! Anyway if I want to waste money on something that may or may not work shouldn't that me my choice? Feeling positive and hopeful today. DH is going to see an androligist next week for his 'performance' issues, so once thats done I'll book us into see someone about IUI

Russkispy · 10/02/2019 13:18

@Cleozeta I still have Clomid, 5 tablets of 50mg, I think. It was from my clinic. I used it even for my natural DTD. Anyway, you're very welcome to have it. I'm happy to post it.
