Hi @Rose68
I’m 41 going to be 42 at end of March and no I don’t have any children. I met my husband 2 years ago and we decided to start trying around September last year.

I’m a bit scared about coming off the anti depressants as have been on them a few years. I might have to give acupuncture a go I’ve never tried it.

Thanks for the link xxx

coppercolouredtop · 06/02/2019 20:22

Sorrow I'm sorry your results weren't good but cvs is a diagnostic test that can be done from12 weeks. It takes a biopsy that can be analysed and is 100% - why don't you consider cvs if you want to know for sure.

coppercolouredtop · 06/02/2019 20:31

That was to Sparrow , sorry stupid phone!

Fingers crossed for your second screen x

Chatbash72 · 06/02/2019 22:49

@Rose68 there is L-arginine in the pregnacare vits..

Rose68 · 07/02/2019 09:20

@Chatbash72 thank you, but is there enough? x

Rose68 · 07/02/2019 09:40

@coppercolouredtop if you really want to give egg donation a go maybe it’s worth talking to dp about it a bit more? x

coppercolouredtop · 07/02/2019 12:42

hi rose68

he really isnt up for it. he shuts the conversation down now, we broached it before but he went through ivf twice before and i think it just brings up bad memories perhaps - he says ive got two great kids (which i do - i was lucky to have them) and i think he is quite content with life as it is now. The thing is, before i met him i didnt want anymore and was quite happy with how life was , i began a career, (something i never had) i now have peace and time and money that i didnt have before so maybe i need to just enjoy my time now.
the cruel thing is that getting pregnant seemed to fuel my long dormant broody-ness - i fully expected to have that baby and finding out she was disabled and poorly was a real shock (stupid at my age and i dont know why i felt so invincible but i did, i didnt look or feel 44, the midwife was blase about my age, the specialist was too, my friend had her 3rd at 45, i just didnt think it would go wrong,
and that seems to have relit the desire to have a baby, that i am now going to have to find a way to quash and be content with life again.

ill get there.

hope the rest of you ladies are having a good day. x

JoJoyorker · 07/02/2019 20:27

Hi Ladies,
I still pop in now and again to see how you all are. Some of you will remember me from my time on the board. I just realised I didn’t update you to let you know our baby boy arrived safe and well in November. I was induced due to being over 40 as they wouldn’t let me go past due date. Apart from that My age was never mentioned. Whenever I expressed my concerns about my age professionals dismissed me and I was made to think it wasn’t unusual at all to be over 40. I wish you all well and I hope you all have some good news soon. I thought about you a lot around my due date Cleo and I really hope you are doing ok.

BooseysMom · 07/02/2019 21:53

@Megan2018... your story is similar to ours. I was 40 when I conceived after just dtd once maybe twice. DS was born when I was nearly 41. I wasn't taking any vit's and yet had a low risk result..I was lucky. DH was 40 and yes it was tiring but we got thru ok and he was all up for having another but i'm at 47 next week and it's pushing it now.
Good luck Megan x

Cleozeta · 07/02/2019 22:08

Jojo - congrats on the birth of your baby boy! So pleased for you.
So sad that I should currently have a 2 month old baby too, but instead stressing out sodding leuteal phases and opk's. Fed up of it now!

Thank you for updating us Smile

SparrowSG · 07/02/2019 22:34

@cleozeta have you tried Agnus Castus? I have read some pages online about how it can help with irregular cycles/luteal phases etc. Could be worth a try?

Some info here www.avawomen.com/avaworld/can-vitex-help-you-conceive/

Cleozeta · 07/02/2019 23:30

Thanks Sparrow, I have been taking vitex for about 2-3 months now, no changes yet

KristieP2018 · 08/02/2019 07:10

@cleozeta what dosage of vitex are you taking? I took it to regulate my cycles but I was taking 800-1200mg a day.

Lexilooo · 08/02/2019 08:30

@Megan2018 thanks for sharing, your story is encouraging. Good Luck with the NIPT, we agreed when we decided to start trying that given our ages we would have all the tests available so I found the link posted earlier by Sparrow useful (thanks Sparrow)

We've been together longer, I was still in my 20s when we met but I didn't think I wanted children back then. The biological clock suddenly kicked into life in my late 30s and took me by surprise! Wish we had started earlier really but it just wasn't something we were interested in.

BooseysMom · 08/02/2019 11:01

@JoJoyorker...Congratulations Flowers.. so happy it all went well. I was nearly 41 when I had DS and was induced after 3 days. They never said anything derogatory about my age either. They might do now I suppose being as old as I am! But they'll probably just think wow!! Grin

Cleozeta · 08/02/2019 11:33

Kristie - I take 800. Maybe I should up it to 1200? Did it work for you?

Realitysucks · 08/02/2019 11:51

Hi to all the newbies @Returning2thesceneofthecrime @Lexilooo @KristieP2018 @Onlyinanemergency

@Megan2018 Congratultions!

@CritterTamer I’m so pleased all is ok for you and bubs x

AFM so I’m on day 4 with next Bemfola injection tonight so only 3 days on injections so far. Base scan showed 9 follicles.

Today only one is 7mm the rest are too small to measure. I am so upset. Lining at base scan was 8mm but on second day of period. I’m still bleeding a bit and lining now 3.3mm. They have changed my meds to Meriofert from tomorrow night and Cetrotide from Sunday morning. Another scan on Tuesday and if no increase in follicles or lining then they will abandon cycle. I’m gutted 😞

Realitysucks · 08/02/2019 12:01

I can’t stop crying now 😞

KristieP2018 · 08/02/2019 12:10

@cleozeta it might help! I took 1200 most days and on the odd day would forget my last dose and only get 800. It helped me. I took it and after one month, finally ovulated after 150 days being off birth control. I took one before breakfast, one before lunch and another before supper.

Cleozeta · 08/02/2019 12:19

Thanks for info Kristie, I currently take 2 x 400mg when I first wake up, but I think I'll add another in the evening too. Hopefully it will do something!

Reality - I'm sorry things are not going as you hoped. I'm afraid I don't know the terminology or where things are supposed to be to be classed as good, so can't advise, but hoping things pick up for you and you get a good cycle

Realitysucks · 08/02/2019 12:23

@Cleozeta they are saying early days but it looks like I’m a poor responder to the drugs or maybe the scan was too early as most people seem to be having scans on days 5-7. Somehow I have to get to Tuesday now and try to stay positive, where all I want now is a massive glass of wine 🙄

Hobbes39 · 08/02/2019 12:39

@Realitysucks - it's v early still - in my clinic they don't do the first scan til day 6/7 then usually 3 days later.
I've never had an issue with my lining, but most of my cycles my follicles have been quite small still at 6 days (with only a couple more than 10mm) - i wouldn't give up hope yet, it could be that you are just slow for things to kick in. I responded much slower this time than last, so they just kept me going on stims for 2 extra days. Try not to worry too much about follicles yet - there's def still time. X

Hobbes39 · 08/02/2019 12:44

In fact - just looked up as I'd noted it down - my first scan this time my largest follicle was only 8mm at day 7, and they became 12-15mm on day 10, so I kept stimming til day 13.
