Hello all and all newbies, this is a hard thread to stay on top of!

@Mellongoose, glad you've been away somewhere familiar and taken time out!
@Cleozeta how have you been?

@booseymom, hope the little one is feeling better
@Realitysucks, glad this appointment was much better, it really does make a difference!

And to those I've missed out sorry hope all are okay

AFM I've been quiet, I'm 11dp5dt and I'm too scared to test, have had AF feelings today all day and back and forth to loo as I'm sure she's here but nothing yet, I have a gut wrenching feeling my first IVF cycle has failed, my OTD is the 7th and I will hold out until then but feeling all over the place in regards to if its worked or not Sad other than a few cramps I've no symptoms of anything and as I've never had a bfp in 3 years of ttc I have no idea what to feel.

CritterTamer · 05/02/2019 06:28

Just popping on to say good luck @Letsdothis43 for testing on the 7th 🤞 Also good luck @realitysucks - I hope those follicles grow nicely 😊

Good luck to everyone else still trying too, and this considering treatments. Welcome to all the newbies!

AFM - 20 Week scan today - I'm completely terrified 😔

Karigan195 · 05/02/2019 08:36

Does the being terrified ever stop? I have my NIPT today so am also terrified.

Crossing fingers for everyone

Hobbes39 · 05/02/2019 08:58

I'm not sure I'm keeping up with everyone's news here - but welcome to new folks & good luck to those of you that have scans etc today @Karigan195 @CritterTamer
And good luck @Letsdothis43 for testing and @Realitysucks for the next few weeks x

Returning2thesceneofthecrime · 05/02/2019 09:22

Hi all, I’m 40 and TTC my first. Two failed pregnancies last year so everything (except my legs) crossed foor 2019.

To those going through NIPT testing at the moment, big hugs and positive thoughts. I keep telling myself that despite the growing risks, there is still a better chance of a healthy pregnancy than not.

Cleozeta · 05/02/2019 10:48

Lets - fingers crossed for you. I bet this 2ww is torture!!
I'm ok thankyou, just waiting for this dead cycle to end then I can start thinking of a plan, or at least just trying again.

Critter - good luck for your 20 week scan. Chances are with you that all will be fine. Let us know how it goes

Karigan - goid luck with your nipt. I hope it will put your mind at rest

Welcome returning

littlemimosa · 05/02/2019 11:33

Let's - is that = to 16dpo? I'm not surprised you're too scared to test, there's so much hanging on an IVF cycle. We're all here to hand hold whichever way it goes....

Welcome newbies!

Cleo - just watched this 5 minute video and thought of you. It's 'how to increase amh levels';
heidibrockmyre.com/blog/2017/3/22/low-amh-how-to-increase-amh-levels-when-trying-to-conceive
Probably useful for all of us on here:)
Happy Tuesday everyone x

Rose68 · 05/02/2019 12:06

It’s a bfn from me again. Not much surprise there, I am truly fed up.

Good luck Critter and Karigan195, and also Lets and everyone else who has stuff going on today x

Megan2018 · 05/02/2019 12:13

Hello
I've been reading this thread for a while as a fellow over 40 (am 41 soon). DH is 45 and this is first pregnancy for either of us.
Didn't post before as wasn't really TTC (stopped contraception but not actively trying) - but am currently unexpectedly 8+2 and terrified of MC, MMC and bad NIPT results.
I have NIPT in 2 weeks at 10+3 so hanging on for that.
Really interesting to read all your stories and hear about your journeys, sorry to butt in now when am already pg but am feeling a bit isolated on the older prospective parent front - have no-one in real life to talk to and DH bless him has head well and truly in the sand!
Anyway, good luck all!

Karigan195 · 05/02/2019 12:47

Hi again Megan. You know you can always pm me if you want to chat/whinge etc :)

Totally terrified about NIPT and everything else. Not told anyone as I don’t want to hear a load of congratulations then have to explain if there is a problem so feel a bit isolated here too. Its shocking how worrying everything is

Karigan195 · 05/02/2019 12:48

Lets how is it going?

Cleozeta · 05/02/2019 12:49

Thanks mimosa - intetesting video, and a few tips there that I had not heard (L-arganine?)
And also good to hear TCM is recommended.

Rose - sorry you got bfn. It's so disheartening but it'll be your turn soon, keep going.

Welcome Megan, and congrats. Try not to stress, try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy, fingers crossed all will be well

Snowie3 · 05/02/2019 13:03

Hi ladies, im still having strange cycle, spotting and it's CD10. Ive stopped the DHEA this month as i think it might be part of the cause.

Does anyone know if it's ok to ovulate on CD20 as this appears to be my day for the past 3 cycles? It just seems to be so late. Has anyone conceived that late?

Im sure the DHEA is affecting it since my ovulation was earlier before i was on it and during the first couple of months i was taking it. I wonder how long (if) it might take to get out of system..

Snowie3 · 05/02/2019 13:06

Was also wondering if thyroid medication affects ovulation/cycle as they put me on that as well. Will be getting my levels tested again soon..

Snowie3 · 05/02/2019 13:07

Lovely to hear about pregnant ladies, fingers crossed for NIPT! Just take one day/hurdle at a time.

Chatbash72 · 05/02/2019 13:24

@CritterTamer and @Karigan195 good luck on scans and tests today.. nope the worry never stops and I think they are safer in the womb as the list of worries grows as the get bigger and more independent.. small one currently on sofa with vomiting bug 🤢
Welcome @Returning2thesceneofthecrime @Lexilooo @KristieP2018 and congratulations @Megan2018
Ohh @Realitysucks your boss sounds like he's being a bit of a jerk at the mo.. and the clinic.. but fab news on follicles and better dr..
Fingers crossed @Letsdothis43
We need an updated list... xxx

Karigan195 · 05/02/2019 13:25

Snowie I have been on thyroxine all my life pretty much. If your thyroxine levels are too low or high it can cause problems with cycles and fertility but they will do frequent blood tests until they find your stable level and then you should be fine. It is a hormone and you may find you get a bit of spotting etc until you stabilise or you may be fine but it doesn’t take long to stabilise once they are on to it.

CritterTamer · 05/02/2019 13:34

Hi ladies, and thanks for your good wishes. 20 week scan was absolutely fine - 2 perfectly healthy looking little ones wriggling around and no abnormalities found so we're feeling very relieved 😊

Good luck to all still waiting on test results of all kinds!

Karigan195 · 05/02/2019 13:37

That’s great news Critter :)

Lexilooo · 05/02/2019 13:40

Congratulations @megan2018

Chatbash72 · 05/02/2019 13:43

Fab news @CritterTamer 💕

Cleozeta · 05/02/2019 13:49

Great news critter Smile

Rose68 · 05/02/2019 13:59

Wonderful news @Crittertamer! You are on the home straight now X

@Cleo thank you for your message, I’ve been trying to hold back tears most of the day, not always successfully.

@Littlemimosa thank you for the link, I watched the video and a couple of the other videos. So... now I have some questions....
L-arganine... how much of it should we take? She said in grams in the video, but it’s not sold in grams. They have it on biovea, so I might order me some 🙄.
Dhea... one of the videos suggests we should be taking microironised dhea, anyone have any clue what that’s all about?
Also on dhea, it looks like it’s 3 months of taking it before it starts having an effect, and the same for ubiquinol. And preferably 5 months, which is slightly annoying. I haven’t been taking them for 3 months yet. 😬

I have had pmt from hell again this month, the only thing I have changed is I ordered the tablet form of dhea by mistake instead of the capsule form. Could it make that much difference? I’ve got a massive pot of 300 of the bloody tablets, and now I just want to order the capsules.

Hobbes39 · 05/02/2019 14:42

Brilliant news @CritterTamer ! So pleased for you x

KristieP2018 · 05/02/2019 16:09

Well, just got back from appointment and I’m confused lol. They said it was a POI appointment to see about putting me on hrt therapy but I told them I’m having regular periods and ovulating since November. The counselor was nice but not as nice as she could be if that makes sense. She did do a scan and showed I have 4 large follicles in the right ovary and 2 on the left. She said for my age I should have a total of 10 but there could be more smaller ones she couldn’t see. Largest one on the right was 13mm and she said that matched with where I am in my cycle. She essentially said they wouldn’t see me again and referred me back to my gp. Anyone want to digest this info for me? Lol

They are going to test husbands sperm in a couple of weeks. Which means more time off work. Boo. So overall not a horrible appointment but she saying they weren’t a fertility clinic. Ok? It’s in the name! Anyway, how’s everyone else’s day gone?
