Welcome @coppercolouredtop so sorry for you loss, I'm 46... just had birthday.. but whilst af still turns up we are all still in the race.. sorry yours are being a pain at the moment.. but there are a few supplements you can take to help with the periods.
Welcome @TigerJoy
@anaconda76 Could you try a diff brand of ubiquinol? You also need to take it after a meal..
sending big hugs @littlemimosa that sounds like a rough old af... new moon tomorrow though..
big hugs and baby dust to you all ladies ⭐️⭐️

Cleozeta · 03/02/2019 10:51

Mimosa - that AF sounds rubbish. Was it heavy for the whole 9 days or just spotting? I often spot up to day 9 but actual AF flow is usually done by day 6.
How are you finding the DHEA now? Is it helping you at all? I'm back on it again, but only 50mg this time. Really hoping for some improved egg quality!
Are you thinking of having any tests to see where you are at now?

hmmm123 · 03/02/2019 11:07

Checking in

Welcome newbies and sparrow sorry to hear your news hope things get better

I've wasted this month but am sitting down with dh to explain how precious time is so we don't waste next month with silly arguments

Feeling more positive and will try not to put pressure on which doesn't help

Good to hear of hew moon @Chatbash72 . I'm also going to dig out some crystals I have for positive energy next month! Got to give everything a go

anaconda76 · 03/02/2019 11:45

@Chatbash72 I think I will try a different brand as I have been taking it with my evening meal.
AF is due today but nothing so far. I did a CB yesterday and got a BFN though.

Chatbash72 · 03/02/2019 11:49

So af arrived this morning and I'm quite relieved as have felt off kilter this week with the bloaty tummy... as sometimes I do get a bloaty tum before ov but have never had as a preg symptom.
It's been just about 12 months since I had a mc at 6 weeks but happened at a really bad emotional low for me.. ( lots of past trauma all hit it one go) this year has been a journey of my mental health and also an over haul of lifestyle, which could be described as a little dull... no caffeine, no alcohol with the odd exception. Have only been taking the ubiquinol/CoEnzyme Q10 for 6 months which in the grand scheme of things isn't very long as it takes 3 months to mature eggs.. so really practically only the last 3 months have been possibly better ones... which is no time at all in trying for a baby.
As the new moon arrives I am feeling quite positive, I shall write out my intentions again and it is Imbolc ( start of spring) so much hope in there.
We haven't set a time limit on trying we are just enjoying contraceptive free sex, regularly throughout the month.. and let's see what happens.. did manage to dtd yesterday so if a cheeky egg pops whilst af is here I have some swimmers in the tubes..
Sending lots of love to you all as you are all wondrous ladies who are kind and support and supporting xx

anaconda76 · 03/02/2019 12:04

Good luck this month @Chatbash72.

mellongoose · 03/02/2019 17:52

That sounds really positive @Chatbash72 :)

@SparrowSG. I'm so sorry you are going through this. The waiting must be horrific. Sending hugs and hoping you get good news.

Welcome newbies. I hope you find these lovely ladies as supportive as I have.

Another couple wrote about their story in the news. This is what happened to us but this couple were in their early 30s. They had been through ivf trying to get their first child. Just to reiterate, what happened to us doesn't seem to be age related. www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6627449/Couple-reveal-heartbreaking-decision-abort-child.html

As for me. We have had a few days away, visiting my home town. It was nice to see some comforting places. I can't shift this urge to try again. I have started the folic acid from the doc. DH is open to it but thinks it's probably a big soon. He's right. But I'm going to go down the route of lots of dtd without mentioning ov. That way we can try to enjoy ourselves without focusing on what we're aiming for...or what we've lost.

I know I'm insane. My ovaries are doing my thinking for me, of course! If it doesn't happen so be it. But I have to at least try.

anaconda76 · 03/02/2019 19:41

Thanks for sharing @mellongoose. It's terribly sad and I'm sorry to hear you went through the same thing. I think you're incredibly brave and I wish you loads of luck trying again. Hugs.

BooseysMom · 03/02/2019 20:03

@littlemimosa..yes that's true..I must be the oldest on here so now I won't feel so bad!! Also true about it must be a man who coined the life begins at 40 phrase! They often get more good looking whereas we decline and become invisible!

@coppercolouredtop..so what were your other names and why did you change? (You dont have to answer if you don't want!) You've had a bad time of it and I'm sorry about your tfmr. I have always taken the same approach as you ... "if it happens it happens and would be a miracle" and I have given up opks. I only take folic. Tbh I feel like a bit of a fraud as we haven't tried hard enough for no. 2. No.1 was and still is exhausting and I was and am now terrified of the worse happening . I also have a v un- supportive and negative family and the only support I have found is here. The ladies here are really special to me actually ..Blush and that's why I've found it hard to just walk away ..they are like a family to me..my fertility sisters Grin. So even if it never happens for me I like to hang around and see what happens! I hope you find the same friendship and support and wish you lots of luck xx

BooseysMom · 03/02/2019 20:14

@Chatbash72... Sorry AF came but glad you feel some physical relief..I understand that feeling too. I have my crystals in the windows. Sending you lots of good energy and baby dust.. maybe this will be the month for if you regularly dtd then it's surely a matter of time x

@mellongoose..Nice to hear you had a few days away and feel it's maybe time to try again. You have been through a lot and as anaconda says, yes you are incredibly brave.. your experience will make you stronger. Very best of luck & baby dust xx

Chatbash72 · 03/02/2019 20:14

Ooh there's a 44 year old mum on this weeks episode of call the midwife !!! Yay

littlemimosa · 03/02/2019 21:47

Thanks Chat❤️ I love your attitude, you always calm me down with your wise words and positivity. Sorry AF arrived but glad you’re feeling better. New moon huh moon 🌒

Cleo - it was 5 days of heavy then 2 days of light then 2 days of spotting so not too bad but what was interesting was the first two days were (tmi) brown blood and then came the fresh bright red stuff after. I don’t know if you remember but last month I ovulated on day 5 which basically stopped my period dead in its tracks. It was almost as though this month the rest of that blood was coming through first! Yes I’m still on DHEA. I’m now taking 25mg at breakfast and 10mg at lunch. So far I’ve not noticed anything unusual other than loads of zits!! Going to keep going on it though as I can cope with spots if it means a baby.... how are you today?

Ah Booseys - such sweet words❤️ I totally know how you feel about this place. I just wish we could all get together but I bet we all live at different ends of the country.

Mellon - good to see you’re ok and thinking ahead. I’m just off to read the article you linked to. Funny isn’t it how our bodies tell us when the time right.

Cleozeta · 03/02/2019 21:55

Good to see some people feeling a bit more positive today. Spring is going to be good for us here, let's make it so!

Cleozeta · 03/02/2019 22:05

Mimosa - your period sounds like mine have been sometimes, it does vary but I often have brown to start, and almost always spot for ages afterwards, the last few cycles ovulation has been earlier on cd 13 or 14 and so when the ewcm appears it is brown tinged. Did you find that on your cd5 ov? Must say thats so early! Hard to even get dtd in I would imagine? Is TCM still helping you?
I am doing ok today thank you, it's weird being in the 2ww with absolutely no hope as we haven't tried. Part of my brain wants af early so we can crack on with the next cycle and the other part really doesn't as it would mean my body is screwed and we have no plan to help it like I thought we would. Will have to wait and see. Trying to feel positive

littlemimosa · 03/02/2019 22:42

Gulp - that is a very moving story Mellon. I cannot imagine how hard it was for you to make that decision. You seem so strong though, a real survivor. Sending more love x

Cleo - yes TCM seems to be helping (no more hot flashes yay!) although the latest tea is truly putrid. I’d almost got used to them until the last batch he made up which tastes of dead dog. Ovulation on CD 5 means it’s impossible to ttc yes and yes it was brown tinged ewcm. I don’t get it it often but just randomly. So far this cycle I’m CD10 and no fertile signs yet. I find that if I have a longer, heavier period, I ovulate later these days. It’s almost like a longer, heavier period means my hormones have had a massive fall and so they build back up more slowly if that makes sense?

Cleozeta · 03/02/2019 23:26

Mimosa - it's interesting how much we learn about our bodies when going throigh something like this! So glad the TCM has helped. I find that the tastier the tea, the more impact it has, so.... yay for dead dog.

Mellon - did you know they are covering a spina bifida pregnancy in hollyoaks at the moment? They have just had the diagnosis so not sure where they'll go with it yet

karryk · 04/02/2019 06:27

@Cleozeta your periods sound just like mine...I thought I was the only one with the drip-drip at the end! They've been this way since my late 30s so I'm assuming it's an age thing.

In the tww but not getting my hopes up as dh is having 'issues'. He's going to see the Dr as at this rate I'll be trying to have a bub in my 60s 🙈 I did get preggo last time with a syringe though (needs must!) so we tried that again.

Things I never thought I'd be saying Grin 🤦🏻‍♀️

Realitysucks · 04/02/2019 14:45

Hi all, I really should try and keep up to date more! A coupe of days away and loads to catch up and on.

Hi to all the newbies😀 your definitely in the right place here as everyone is great!

@SparrowSG im so sorry, I am thinking of you and sending big hugs!

@mellongoose I’m glad you had some time away x

As for the rest of you crazy cats 🐈 I’ve read up on all your threads and I am in awe of your strength in all this.

The reason I’m in and out is that I have found this whole process so difficult to deal with. I’m literally on a train on the way to clinic now for my first scan. I have been so stressed waiting for AF, the stuff with the clinic and worrying about DH going away or having to cancel his ski trip on 25th it all just got a bit much. Then to top it off at the weekend I fell out with my boss and just battened down the hatches and sulked.

So AF has come early so I rang the supposedly 24 hour clinic on Saturday and guess what, no response till today! I was originally booked in on Wednesday for my first scan in what was supposed to be day 2 of my cycle. Then when they did respond I was told they are back to back with scans today and they suppose they will just have to fit me in at the end of the day at 4pm oh and that’s 20 mins after they are allowed to book the last scan?!?

What is wrong with these people, why am I made to feel like I’ve done something wrong? Now I’m worried they won’t have the time to explain drugs or injections etc as they will want to go home! Despite the head of nursing assuring me I would not be leaving the clinic next time without all the facts I am dubious! Not even seeing my doctor as a different Doctor is scanning this afternoon. Boss was arsey as despite me telling him and being up front about us having treatment l, I had to work from home Friday because of the snow. Then said I needed to probably go to the clinic today and he was like oh well that’s half a day in the office in 4 days. Ffs it’s not like I’m not working all weekends since November because they failed to cover me last year when I was off sick. Im just ranting now sorry !!! I need a drink and can’t even do that 🤦‍♀️

KristieP2018 · 04/02/2019 15:22

Newbie here! I’m 42 and husband and I are trying for #1. Been ttcing since June but had problems with no periods after stopping birth control. Finally got them back in November. We’re on cycle 4 now. I’m 3/4 dpo today. We’ve got a fertility clinic appointment tomorrow. First one. Baby dust ladies!

Cleozeta · 04/02/2019 15:49

Karry - mine have been odd since late 30's too! Deffo age related and deffo very annoying. DH has performance issues too, but apparently supersperm, so just need to try to get them to the right place at the right time!

Reality - sorry you are having such a hard time with all this. Sounds like all the fertility clinics are a bit over run at the moment! Mine was busy thats why I had to wait 6 weeks for the hycosy that never sodding happened! (Still bitter about wasting a cycle!)
Good luck with it all.

Welcome Kristie, good luck with your fertility appointment. Let us know how you get on, I'd love to compare after my experience last week!

Lexilooo · 04/02/2019 17:45

Mind if I join? I'm 40 and ttc my first.

Have kind of been trying for a few months but haven't really managed to give ourselves a decent chance yet. We're not young energetic newly weds anymore........

Not trying anything other than a tracking app at the moment, and unsure whether I should do more. Also don't know whether I should be considering any medical input/tests or something.

Realitysucks · 04/02/2019 18:11

@Cleozeta I know I can’t belive they did that. Mine is push push push we want your money and yours seem to be holding off letting you move forwards. I would have felt the same about missing a chance!

AFM I have the green light! The different doctor was lovely despite being a bloke 🙄 really friendly guy and was very supportive. I have follicles 5 on the left and 4 on the right. Start first injection tomorrow night and then back Friday for next scan. He says as long as I respond ok ( and no reason I shouldn’t as I’m on the highest dose) we should be done by the time DH goes skiing so that’s a massive relief!

I just have to up my fluid intake now. The needle looks bigger than I thought it would be and whole lot needs to go in apparently 😬😬😬😱 Roll on Friday is all I can say!

Welcome to lexilooo and Kristie !

Cleozeta · 04/02/2019 18:39

How exciting reality! Fingers crossed for you.
Does seem your clinic and mine are opposite, mine didn't want me to spend any money at all! Not sure if they are being overly cautious or if they are just worried about their stats, who knows.

Welcome lexiloo

mondaycando1 · 04/02/2019 23:23

I don't know how some of you keep going with all this medical stuff, hats off to you brave ladies! I feel guilty posting here as I already have 2 lovely (most of the time!) boys but here I am. Tell tale sore boobs today so that's me out for another cycle me thinks, although we are away for half term so maybe a holiday baby??

Cleozeta · 05/02/2019 00:04

I have 2 already as well, doesn't mean we can't want another Smile
