Hi everyone, I'm placemarking here so I can read the thread as you go. Not ready to add myself to the list yet as tried for years for no. 2 but resigned to it not happening as felt like I was getting too old. Given up trying (timing did) now but reading this thread has made me think about properly trying again. I can't even remember my age sometimes - so maybe I'm not too old - it's just a number Grin

Karigan195 · 29/01/2019 09:05

Just been for my first scan so they could check the dates. Baby is measuring at 9 weeks 2 days. Lovely little heartbeat and was bouncing quite happily in there 😁

Over 40 ttc- lots of baby dust for me!
BooseysMom · 29/01/2019 09:06

Critter.. thank you. That sounds stressful, poor you.. so glad the babies are ok x

Welcome Habadabadoo.. May I ask your age? Only I'm 47 next month and we've been ttc 3 years now and are resigned to it not happening. When I was 38-39 I had 2 mcs and we gave up then out of the blue DS came along just when we thought it's not going to happen! I was 3 months off 41. Good luck x

BooseysMom · 29/01/2019 09:08

Wow Karigan! That's fantastic Grin.. congratulations again Flowers x

Karigan195 · 29/01/2019 10:51

Thank you Boosey. I’ve been so worried about getting to the scan and finding it was another mmc. We’ve still got the testing hurdle to pass but i feel much happier now (except for the scales going up but that’s a different topic)

Cleozeta · 29/01/2019 10:55

Congrats karigan! Great scan pic.
Critter how stressful! At least you have been scanned and know the babies are ok.

I have my hycosy on thursday, a bit scared. Any tips from anyone who's had one?

Karigan195 · 29/01/2019 11:14

How are you doing today Critter?

rytonsister · 29/01/2019 11:17

Ladies can I just ask and I'm sorry I've not read the entire thread - what supplements are good to take when try as an older woman?

I had a pg @ 44 but she had a disability and we made the terrible decision to terminate as she wouldn't have had much quality of life.

That was 2.5 years ago and I'm now nearly 47 Blush so realistically I know it's not likely but I got pg so easily at 44 then nothing - but I've just found out I'm severely anaemic and very low in folates so on supplements now. What else could boost egg quality and my (albeit very slim) chances

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 11:23

@Critter sorry to hear you are back in hospital 😞

@Karigan Fab news, congratulations!

@Cleo have you ovulated already? Is there any chance you can still try this cycle?

As for me, I’m fed up with this. It’s clearly not going to happen. I need to find something else to put my time and energy into. So sorry to be negative, it’s just so hard.

anaconda76 · 29/01/2019 11:25

@rytonsister - Welcome. So sorry to hear about your heartbreaking termination.

A lot of us on here are taking Ubiquinol with Kaneka as well as the usual multi-vits for conception.

anaconda76 · 29/01/2019 11:32

@Critter - so sorry to hear you're back in hospital but it good that they're keeping an eye on things, you would probably stress more at home. I'm so glad the little ones are doing well.
@BooseysMom - I'm glad you saw a good doctor in the end and it sounds like DS is finally getting a bit better.
@Chatbash - hopefully the ov pain is actually something else? Something very positive going on in there? Fingers crossed!
@Habadabadoo - welcome. While we're still having AF then we're still in the game. I've decided, to hell with the statistics.
@Karigan - congratulations! Lovely scan pic.

rytonsister · 29/01/2019 11:46

Thanks - is cq10 something different?

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 11:55

@Habadabadoo and @rytonsister welcome

@rytonsister, sorry I missed your post before, I am so sorry for what you went through. Have a look at ubiquinol, vitamin d spray and dhea x

rytonsister · 29/01/2019 11:56

Thanks ladies.

I will get googling!

Good luck all xxx

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 11:57

Ubiquinol is like co enzyme q10, but better for us oldies. That’s as far as my understanding goes. 😊

Cleozeta · 29/01/2019 12:22

Welcome habadabadoo and rytonsister!

Chat - that could be a good sign, fingers crossed!

Rose - already ovulated so I'm out this cycle. Hycosy will be on 4dpo.
I totally understand your feeling of wanting to put your mind on something else. I am the same. Currently trying to convince DH that we need to move house....

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 12:28

I have already convinced DH that we need to move house, and ours is on the market. Just can’t quite get round to looking at anything 😩

rytonsister · 29/01/2019 12:49

Thank again - now I'm really confused. There are different doses of ubiquinol just to help 🤔😱

Rose68 · 29/01/2019 13:01

I am taking 300mg after asking the same question a while back x

rytonsister · 29/01/2019 13:14

Thanks rose! So confusing!

CritterTamer · 29/01/2019 13:51

@Karigan195 - great news! I'm OK, thanks for asking. Home from hospital now - had doppler on this morning to check heartbeats again and they're happy there's no active bleeding at the moment 😊

Karigan195 · 29/01/2019 14:24

Oh that’s good. So glad the little ones are ok!

Hobbes39 · 29/01/2019 14:27

Hi all - sorry to hear your had another scare @CritterTamer , very glad to hear all is well and you are home again.
@Karigan195 - lovely scan! Congrats!
Feels like an eternity until I can have my scan. Time is just at a standstill!
For those who have had BFPs - when did MS kick in, if it has? I'm feeling s little queasy at times at the mo, but could just be nerves!
@rytonsister - ubiquinol is what CoQ10 is turned into by our bodies. The theory is that some people, especially older ladies like us don't do that conversion so well, so having the already converted form is much more beneficial. Good quality kaneka ubiquinol is more expensive that CoQ10 for this reason. I was taking 200mg - I think that's the min recommendation for egg quality.
Hope that helps.

Karigan195 · 29/01/2019 14:29

Hobbes odd bouts of nausea and only sick twice pre eight weeks. At eight weeks it really started and is dreadful.

But it’s different for everyone and comes and goes so I wouldn’t worry too much. Just enjoy non sick days whilst you have them.

Hobbes39 · 29/01/2019 14:33

Thanks @Karigan195 - I was never actually sick with my DS - just had the nausea feeling anytime I was hungry, but can't remember when it started... I'm hoping that feeling a bit queasy is a good sign, but it could be just in my head as I'm pretty sure I'm losing the plot at the moment! 🙈
