So sorry Onemorego.. thinking of you x

Hobbes.. Great that all is ok now. take care of yourself..Those weeks will soon pass.

Good luck Presh x

Reality.. omg you have had a right old day of it! So sorry you were put thru all that crap unnecessarily. You are really brave to tolerate the pain. Such a shame you can't transfer clinics..def consider taking things further with the ombudsman if you can. Good luck x

Not a good day all round it seems..Sorry ladies Sad.. I'm currently nursing DH who has a nasty feverish cold. It's just like flu and the fevers are making him shiver and he can't eat anything. I'm keeping his fluids up or trying to. He had the nasal flu vacc too. This is the 3rd virus now since beginning Dec. I can't afford to get it as I have occupational health on my back as it is Angry

Realitysucks · 23/01/2019 20:55

We’ve paid £7750 for multicycle so two egg collections the rest goes to the clinic, so far £150 for first appointment, £225 for Zika test, £685 today for infusion and scratch and pre cycle bloods for both of us. It is mounting up! I haven’t even paid for my drugs yet ! I’m going to ring them tomorrow!

littlemimosa · 23/01/2019 21:34

Onemorego - thinking of you. Hope you’re ok?

Hobbes - so glad you got good news today:)

Presh - good luck to you for this iui. Fingers crossed those fries do the trick:)

Reality- what a day for you. The scratch sounds awful but the way your clinic are treating you is abysmal. So sorry 😐

Booseys - sorry to hear your boy is poorly. It’s awful when they’re very sick with a fever. How long has this one been going on? Is it worth getting a doctor out to him tomorrow morning or at least phoning 111? Just keep going with the fluids. Big love to Boosey baby.

Rose68 · 23/01/2019 21:39

@Onemorego, sorry I think I missed your post, I hope you are okay sending hugs x

@Booseys I’m confused as to whether it’s DH or DS that’s poorly, but sending love which ever one it is and hopefully it’s not both x

BooseysMom · 23/01/2019 21:58

Thanks Rose. It's DS sorry!! I'm so used to illnesses now since DH got pleurisy I stress myself out loads every time he coughs!

Thanks Little. It came on suddenly 3am this morning and has been not too bad all day until about 5pm. He's had Calpol and Nurofen..Just keeping a note what he's had so far. His temp was 39.1. He was shaking with fever and now he's asleep. It's so horrible. Boosey baby.. Grin ..i love it! That's why I'm called Booseysmom! He was Boosey from the moment I found out about him..don't ask me why!! Confused

PetraRabbit · 23/01/2019 22:24

So much to catch up on.....

Reality- I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time with your clinic. I don't have any experience but it all seems very off. I wonder if your stress levels and lack of trust in them has contributed to your physical pain? Maybe the next appointments will go better if you shut out all the negativity you are getting from them. I'm saying this to encourage you. I get anxious too and I know if it were me I'd be affected by the way I'd been treated.

Presh- good luck!

Booseys- take care of little Boosey!

PetraRabbit · 23/01/2019 22:32

Alibingo- I don't know how I feel about donor eggs. It would not be at all what I'd choose but I know a couple of women who have done it and had wonderful children they adore so that made me feel maybe I'd consider it as a last resort. In a way it feels a harder choice if you already have one child- does it just invite a comparison? I'd try my own eggs first even if they said chances were poor. I can see why clinics suggest DE- it's a better likelihood for their stats. Anyway I just had some great reflexology and starting accupuncture this week. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. I always feel more positive afterwards. DH is away in my fertile week so nothing else to report here.

PetraRabbit · 23/01/2019 22:59

Hobbes and Onemorego- sorry things are looking down....it is such a tough game this TTC....it doesn't stop once you successfully conceive.....hoping for both of you!

SparrowSG · 23/01/2019 23:55

AliBingo sorry you asked about my IVF and I didn’t reply. With your AMH there is no reason not to try with OE. As I said before mine was 2.5 last year and for that IVF I was on a very low dose of stimms but still got two good eggs (visually). Obvs they were not genetically good as I didn’t fall pregnant, but had I repeated the process again I’m sure eventually I would have been successful. I had planned to have two more goes at IVF this year and my Dr has never mentioned DE to me. He was planning on putting me back on a high stimms protocol as I was on for my first successful IVF in 2016. And there must have been one good egg left as I’ve managed to get pregnant without help! It only takes one, so don’t be too disheartened by low AMH numbers.

Rose68 · 24/01/2019 10:32

@PetraRabbit and @AliBingo I think the question of donor eggs is a very tricky and very personal one. I would have absolutely used donor eggs if I was in this position with no dc, but only after exhausting everything else.

@Realitysucks let us know how you get on today.

@Dickybow321 how are you getting on?

AliBingo · 24/01/2019 10:35

@Rose68 yes definitely, it's a hard one and I can imagine I would in some scenarios.

Realitysucks · 24/01/2019 10:52

Hi ladies, sorry about yesterday I was so upset after clinic I needed to rant! So spoke to the head of nursing. I feel better she was very apologetic and explained things more. I have my list of drugs now which I feel better about. Apparently I can get them cheaper from boots ! She went though my results. So they are saying that I’m on the low side for fertility but not really bad! The 5 follicles were in keeping with my AMH of 4. They expect 3-8. As I’m below the national threshold of 6 I’m classed as low fertility. She says I can still get pregnant with own eggs or naturally! 5 % chance each cycle! Great after I’ve handed over the cash! We talked about DHEA they are against it as a clinic apparently tried it and didn’t see good enough results. They are putting me on Benfola, Meriofert, centrotide, cyclogest and lubion. All at different times and scan dependant but looks like I’m on the highest dose so 450IU.

Still having cramping from yesterday, she says ET won’t be as bad as the catheter is a lot smaller ! And doesn’t think I’ll nees to be sedated. Now we just wait for my next cycle. Just hope to god it comes on time as DH off skiing on 25th Feb so I may have to do transfer on my own 😞

Realitysucks · 24/01/2019 10:55

@presh hope all ok and good luck ! Tell me about MC fries and if I need to be eating them lol!

@booseysMoM hope little one a bit better today ?

Am thinking of you onmorego and Hobbes!

Realitysucks · 24/01/2019 10:57

Everyone else thank you for all your comments yesterday. It is just amazing to have the support we do on here! Especially when one of us are feeling low.

Presh12345 · 24/01/2019 11:16

@reality sorry to hear about all your hassle. I read somewhere that McDonald fries were recommended after iui as the salt content is high and your body absorbs all the liquids in order to keep hydrated. Figured it can't hurt. Also read about pineapple core and had some last night however after checking with my doc, he said not to as I'm on aspirin and clexane and the core can be a natural blood thinner.

Cleozeta · 24/01/2019 11:51

Reality - glad you got some answers, thats much more helpful!

Chatbash72 · 24/01/2019 13:37

@Realitysucks so glad that the nurse was helpful.. xxxxx

Hobbes39 · 24/01/2019 13:59

Hi all - hope everyone is ok? @onemorego2019 - how are you?
@Realitysucks - glad you got a nurse who sounds helpful. As someone else said up thread - I suspect part of he pain could have been down to nerves as we clench up then. I honestly can say with transfer the most uncomfortable bit is the speculum and the fact that you need a full bladder. My clinic also did a dummy transfer before ET day (ie did it without putting an embryo in) the first time, just to make sure that it would all go smoothly - maybe ask them for that if they don't offer anyway? I believe it's standard practice.
AFM I'm feeling more relaxed (but then worrying about letting myself get too relaxed Confused) about things today - I did another CBD and it came back 2-3 weeks, so moving in right direction and I've had no further bleeding. I'm to stop my progesterone pessaries after using them up this eve - I'm nervous about do this - has anyone else? I do actually have a stock on crinone gel (from last time) so I could use that, but doc assured me there is no proof that progesterone supplementation is required after a positive test... but I'm just scared to stop so soon! Any thoughts?

Cleozeta · 24/01/2019 14:06

Hobbes - I've read that if you take progesterone it should be up to 12 weeks?

CritterTamer · 24/01/2019 14:12

@Realitysucks - I'm so glad you had a proper talk with your clinic - that sounds brilliant 😊 honestly don't worry about the ET - as a PP said the worst part is the very full bladder! I also had to do my first ET alone as DH couldn't be there and it was totally fine. Also I used Bemfola for part of my successful cycle - it's great!

@Hobbes39 - I don't want to scare you but my clinic made me stay on progesterone pessaries until 12 weeks (when the placenta is fully formed and takes over hormone production). They did say that some clinics stop if at 7-9 weeks but their experiences were better vwith continuing until 12 weeks. Mine were 3 x per day and at the 8 week point I was away on a course with work and was worried about whether I would be able to do the middle of the day one - they told me that it was very important that I did use it!

Hobbes39 · 24/01/2019 14:28

Hmmm - I think I'll use the crinone I have then - I have it as last time I had a wobble about not continuing it, so the lead consultant and I had a chat and he told me there was no evidence of it being necessary, but that if it made me feel better he would write a prescription and I could pay for it from chemist. So I did that and got enough for up to 12 weeks but it went wrong at 7.5, so I def have a couple of weeks left... I think I'd like to taper off them too rather than suddenly doing so... but not sure. They said this time again that there's no need for it, but I don't want to risk it...

Cleozeta · 24/01/2019 14:39

I wouldn't risk it hobbes. Take what you have if they won't give you more.

On another note, do clinics do payment plans for IVF?

onemorego2019 · 24/01/2019 16:09

Feeling rubbish @Hobbes39 nothing much else has happened. Crampy low down. Pink mucous discharge on and off. Maybe a little heavier this afternoon. 😞

BooseysMom · 24/01/2019 17:26

Petra & Reality..Thanks for asking about DS. Back from work and he's still feverish but eating and drinking ok so I'm not panicking. Will see what he's like in the morning. DH has had to look after him and so he wants his mummy now Smile

Reality. .Great you managed to speak to the head of nursing and even got an apology! Well done! Glad you're feeling so much better today x

Onemorego..sorry you still have the same symptoms..hope things improve soon x

I think I'm ovulating already and only just finished AF 2 days ago. I have sudden ewcm. Can it be this early? And aren't I supposed to be giving up ttc anyway?!! This is such a roller coaster isn't it? How I feel changes every day .. like Jekyll & Hyde! AF comes and that's it, I've had enough, then ovulation comes and it's back on the ttc merry go round!!

Realitysucks · 24/01/2019 18:15

@BooseysMom glad little one is getting better.

Your last paragraph made me laugh 😂 that’s exactly it, it’s like AF comes and we are right that’s it I’m done! not doing this anymore then ovulation comes and your like errrr quick jump on it !!!🤣🤣😬
