Thanks @littlemimosa - I'm so nervous as I know too well now how it can go wrong. I've not even told DH yet as will wait to see if it sticks til Sunday. I'm going to try to carry on as tho I haven't tested, but slightly less worried about getting my period early...Confused
Re DHEA - I ordered some but didn't take it as from what I have read it is powerful and can be great for some people, but not for others. I think if you are petite you are doing the right thing in being cautious. If you can see effects from a low dose then no need to go higher imo - but someone taking it might be able to give you better info!

Over 40 ttc- lots of baby dust for me!
Hobbes39 · 18/01/2019 11:28

Hope you can see the line - it's v v faint tho...

littlemimosa · 18/01/2019 11:32

I can SO see the line!! I’m excited for you! Am I allowed to whisper congratulations? :)

littlemimosa · 18/01/2019 11:33

Ps, thanks for the good advice x

Dickybow321 · 18/01/2019 11:33

Ooooh, fingers crossed hobbes. Hope its a sticky one xx. So many BFPs on here lately, which is really encouraging Smile

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I've not had any more spotting since yesterday morning and have another hcg test booked for tomorrow so we are praying for a miracle.

Dickybow321 · 18/01/2019 11:34

I can see the line from here, no mistaking it hobbes

Rose68 · 18/01/2019 11:54

Congratulations @Hobbes39!

Wow, so many bfp’s lately. I just wish we could all get there.

My acupuncturist said you have to take enough dhea to make a difference. Following my mc, I’m going to stick with 75mgs because I’m certain my egg quality needs to be improved. I am also quite petite, but what the hell, nothing ventured nothing gained and all that!

Rose68 · 18/01/2019 11:56

I think @Crittertamer’s clinic wanted her to take 150mgs, but she only agreed to take 75. Please correct me if I’m wrong Critter. How are you getting on Critter?

Kj1010 · 18/01/2019 12:44

I done test 10 days after mc as eapu advised was negitive plus had scan all gone just confused as people are saying you count from when you have miscarriage like the first bleed im not gonna test just leaving it what will be will be

Cleozeta · 18/01/2019 13:03

Congrats hobbes!

CritterTamer · 18/01/2019 13:39

@Hobbes39 and @Onemorego - cautious congratulations!

@Dickybow321 - hope you're OK today - fingers crossed for tomorrow's test result 🤞

@Rose68 - sorry I can't help I never took DHEA. My clinic prescribed testosterone gel for 1 month prior to my cycle but I have no idea how the dosages relate. They were careful to say that it couldn't be taken long term however (I think the gel was stronger than DHEA supplement though).

Rose68 · 18/01/2019 15:13

Ok, maybe it was someone else then x

Russkispy · 18/01/2019 15:47

Tentative congratulations to @Hobbes39 and @onemorego2019 . Everything crossed for you.
As for DHEA, I'm still taking it. 75mg a day, 3 tablets of 25mg basically.
Just planning my next round of IVF, next month. In the meantime, planning a massive shagathon starting this weekend and hope for the best! If not, then will ask for my meds to be couriered and start injections. Will be on a short protocol again.

Chatbash72 · 18/01/2019 17:22

I can't keep up.. congratulations to the bfps'.. @Hobbes39 @onemorego2019.

onemorego2019 · 18/01/2019 18:00

Picked up a Sainsbury's test today and re tested. Negative. Tested midday time. Not even a feint line today. This is really confusing! No af and on cycle d29. Yesterday's frer had that feint line.

onemorego2019 · 18/01/2019 18:01

@Hobbes39 my frer was just like your line yesterday but no show on a Sainsbury's test today 🤬

Chatbash72 · 18/01/2019 18:03

I will say ladies don't give up hope... 💕💕
I had my little boy at 40 and we are still trying for our other addition... my best friend had number 7 and 8 at 42 and 44.. 3 ladies I was at school with have had little ones in the last 12 months at 44-45 years.. my sister had hers at 41.. my sis in law is in early 30's and struggled for 2 years.. ( had tubes blown and success) real ladies not urban myths..
I do think we are sold a bit of story about age and fertility..
I will say that the one thing most have in common is that they were surprises... I know it's soooo hard to relax and go with the flow as our little ones are wanted beyond words, but a couple of ladies on here have said they have had bfps' on months that they weren't really trying.. keep up the supplements, acupuncture, yoga etc... good for general health and definitely mental well being.. but stress is not good for the systems.. sending you all oodles of love.. 💕💕💕💕💕💕

Hobbes39 · 18/01/2019 18:11

Oh no @onemorego2019 - could it just be that Sainsbury's isn't as sensitive? Do you know how many days past ovulation you are?
I know mine is super early - (I'm the ivf equivalent of 9 days post ovulation) so I knew any line would be only just there. I'm hoping it gets darker in a couple of days...
Try again tomorrow with another frer?

onemorego2019 · 18/01/2019 18:22

@Hobbes39 no idea. I don't really know how long my cycle is. Im bf my 3 year old still 🙄 and I've been on the pill. According to ovia I'm on d29 and should've started my period today. I think I may wait a few days now and see how it goes.

How do you feel in yourself? Are you going to test again tomorrow?

BooseysMom · 18/01/2019 18:23

@Chatbash72.. I'm ok thanks..still in as AF not due til Tues so too early to test. Mood stable again thank goodness. I remember them being really unpredictable with DS. Btw we're the same aren't we?.. had DS at 40. I was nearly 41..and ttc no.2? X

Good luck those waiting patiently.. Hobbes and onemorego. I'm rooting for you x

Hobbes39 · 18/01/2019 18:29

@onemorego2019 - I suspect that you have just caught it v early then and the Sainsbury's one is not sensitive enough - FRER are the most sensitive ones, so def use another one when you test next.
I feel ok this afternoon - much calmer than this morning...! I sadly feel I can't really get hugely excited about it yet as we've been trying so long and been here so many times now and had hoped dashed... so I'm trying to just take it one step at a time. I won't test tomorrow - but will on Sunday if period hasn't shown up before then.
How about you?

Realitysucks · 18/01/2019 19:23

Wow all these BFps ! Congrats @Hobbes39 and onemorego2019!

So ladies, my 41st birthday is looming on Sunday ( trying not to be depressed about it!) question is we are going to visit a friend tomorrow and staying over for birthday drinks!

Problem is I’m currently not drinking due to starting stims around 4th Feb! Have had nothing since New Year’s Eve. Do you think it makes much difference and I could have two glasses or wine tomorrow night or should I just steer clear?

Hobbes39 · 18/01/2019 19:29

@Realitysucks - I drank a small amount over xmas when I was downregging (started stims on the 27th). I didn't want to drink much, but would have looked odd to drink nothing. I honestly don't think it did any harm. I think stressing about it all would have done more harm...I didn't drink during stims tho. If you aren't stimming yet, have a couple and enjoy yourself - hopefully you won't be able to drink for while when it works, so you might as well enjoy it at the moment x

Angelbabyollie · 18/01/2019 19:55

@Hobbes39 @onemorego2019 fingers crossed for you sounding promising xx

Thanks for all your replies trying to stay positive! Have weird ache on pelvis today like someone pushing down both sides! It's cd 26 did hpt as even thou promised wouldn't can't help it's accu news one this time and -ve but cervix high and soft means nothing really but still hoping ! X

hmmm123 · 18/01/2019 20:15

Good luck to everyone still in and tentative congrats on the early bfps!

I'm a day late according to Ovia but I'm not going to test because dh was away when I was ovulating and we dtd far too much in advance for any swimmers to have been still hanging around when I did so I'm going to save my tests.

Cycles are so unreliable after you hit 40/41 aren't they. In the summer went to cd43 without AF and got excited but lots of BFNs.

Blooming freezing here! Stay warm everyone!
