Before dhea my ovulation day was usually around cd13-15, during dhea it was cd18, then last month after finishing dhea was back to cd15. I was taking 75mg. I'd like ovulation to be later this cycle but don't want to completely screw it up so going to try 50mg.
Interestingly on the 2nd cycle of taking dhea I had an overy scan and had 'functional hormonal cycsts'. No idea if they were caused by the dhea or would have been there anyway. Sonographer was not concerned.

onemorego2019 · 17/01/2019 17:27

Not sure but I may see a line on my frer. Af due tomorrow. Been emotional all week. Tested Monday and nothing. Tested today and I can see a really feint line it's slightly pink. Could this be an evap line? Didn't think that'd be pink though. Not sure of my cycle length so I've been working on 28 days, I'm that today. Surely a positive would be darker??

Rose68 · 17/01/2019 17:29

It sounds good @onemorego! How many dpo are you? Can you upload a photo? x

onemorego2019 · 17/01/2019 17:36

No idea @Rose68 I'm still breastfeeding my 3 year old 😂 just come off the pill too.

Here's a picture. Had to play about with the colour etc just so it shows. Easier to say with eyes! I may wait a day or two and try again? Don't want to get too excited too soon x

Over 40 ttc- lots of baby dust for me!
Hobbes39 · 17/01/2019 17:46

That's a def pink line @onemorego2019 - congratulations!

Rose68 · 17/01/2019 17:56

Yes it’s definitely there! Fab news! x

onemorego2019 · 17/01/2019 18:01

It really does only have the tiniest bit of pink in real life. I've had a crampy upset stomach the last day or so. I was convinced af was coming. I'm still sitting on the fence until I get a pinker line - fingers crossed xxxxx

Cleozeta · 17/01/2019 18:10

Looks promising onemorego! Test again in a day or 2, see if it gets darker Smile

littlemimosa · 17/01/2019 18:19

Oooh onemorego, it’s definitely a positive! Test again in a couple of days to confirm:)

Cleo - great to see you back:) Re DHEA, I’m sticking to a low dose for now. In fact I started on 3x10mg per day and am now just doing 2x10mg. I have noticed some side effects even on that low dose so I’m a bit scared to increase it. Going to give it another cycle and see what else it does. However, I actually ovulated stupidly early on my first month of taking it so not delayed it for me but then again I’d only been on it two weeks at that point. I actually feel good on it. More energy I think and definite increase in boob size. Which by the way I love:-)

Karigan195 · 17/01/2019 18:42

Looks positive to me. Congratulations and fingers crossed for a sticky bean 😁

Dickybow321 · 17/01/2019 19:17

Congrats onemorego. That looks beautiful!

I feel like I've let the thread down but this pregnancy is not going to stick. I've been obsessively POAS and did the CB with conception indicator and knew something was wrong when it stayed stuck on 1-2 weeks. I've had 2 hcg tests 48hrs apart which confirmed the hcg level has only gone up by 10% over the last 48hrs. This morning I saw some pink blood when I wiped. I haven't seen any since but this pregnancy is not viable Sad

Hobbes39 · 17/01/2019 19:59

Oh no @Dickybow321 - I'm so sorry. How far along are you? Is there a chance it's a vanishing twin? I know it's unlikely, but I cling on to hope. I e been there tho, sometimes you can just feel when is my right, but then again, sometimes things go wrong so often you can make yourself worry more than you need to. Were you told more? Are you to go back for anther blood test? I'm so sorry you are going through this x

olivia12 · 17/01/2019 20:01

Congrats onemorego!!

Sending hugs Dickybow321...you never know, don’t give up hope!!!

My bleeding has kind of stopped so now I’m not sure AT ALL of what this is as my period usually lasts 5 days! To recap, I’m on day 22 and my period usually comes on day 31-32. I have started spotting and I thought it was implantation bleeding but more blood on the 2nd day made me doubt that. I have just no idea 🤷‍♀️🧐

Rose68 · 17/01/2019 20:23

I’m so sorry @Dickybow 😢

Re dhea I am taking 75mgs a day (3 x 25), I don’t think I have had any bad side effects except for the odd spot. I read some more about the increased ivf success rates with those taking 75mgs of dhea, so I assume it’s the same for natural conception. I have had good side effects... mostly no pmt, and I feel I can cope better generally. I am going to stick with it for now, unless something else happens to change my mind.

Angelbabyollie · 17/01/2019 20:27

Evening! Just checking in as been off for a while am 42 have 3 girls and one angel boy who died 12 days old in may. My periods didn't come back till 4 months and are random 32 days twice with spotting from cd28 and have lasted 15 days and last one 19 day period. Am currently cd 25 had brown cm cd 13 and cd 23 with 2 dark red spots but nothing since was hoping this good sign and implantation. Am cd 25 now just did a clear and simple test - ve but only 2 days after spotting happened. Have tried to accept fact in peri but really was hoping this would be good month. Had bloods done at doctor cd23 as couldn't get appointment for cd21 so guess have to just wait. It's hard trying to accept that my angel was probably my last. And as took test thought I am stupid for even thinking I would be that lucky sorry ranting! Baby dust to all and hope someone understands how I feel ! Xx

BooseysMom · 17/01/2019 21:14

@hmmm123 & @rose68... thanks for the encouragement Smile x

@onemorego2019.. That's a perfect line right there! Congratulations! Flowers

@Dickybow321...keeping everything crossed for you now x

@LynnC77.. sorry about your mc. I had 2 mcs at around 8 wks then DS was 3rd time lucky. We'd given up ttc and he was like a miracle! Sending hugs & baby dust your way x

@Angelbabyollie..welcome back. I remember you. I am so sorry for your loss..I think you are incredibly brave. Sorry I expect you are sick of hearing it. But you deserve this chance. Big hugs and baby dust xx

Gizmojo · 17/01/2019 21:15

@dickiebow321 Really sorry to hear this. You never know with the CB. Have you got any more tests coming up? Sending you lots of love xx

Gizmojo · 17/01/2019 21:15

@onemorego2019 Looks good to me! Congratulations x

Gizmojo · 17/01/2019 21:18

@angelbabyollie So sorry for your loss xx 42 would be early for peri. I conceived my dc three months after a mmc at 42 so although I can’t say I know how you feel, please don’t feel things are hopeless xx

Cleozeta · 17/01/2019 21:50

So sorry to hear things may not be working out dickybow.

Angel - it may just be taking a while for your body to settle down into a pattern again, give it time, there is always a chance.

Mimosa - that is a very low dose, I'm surprised you are having any effect! I didn't have any side effects at all except for the early AF but then that may have happened anyway, regardless of the dhea, so who knows. So much of this is guesswork.

Olivia - that is a mystery! Have you tested at all?

Kj1010 · 18/01/2019 00:41

Really really sorry all but was wondering if anyone can advise i had a miscarriage on christmas day 2018 but the bleeding started a week before even though was light and never really got heavy so ive been counting since xmas day but have been reading loads count from wen they bled so im thinking its nearly 4 weeks but is it in actual fact 5 weeks no period at all obviously been dtd so should i test have had period like pains in belly got sore nipples etc so confused now im sorry to be a pain

hmmm123 · 18/01/2019 08:16

Sorry dickybow☹️

Sorry kJ I don't know

I'm feeling rubbish today terrible insomnia the last few nights keep waking up at 2am and then can't get back to sleep! Also cold sores and generally feeling meh which means AF is on her way 🙁

Rose68 · 18/01/2019 09:31

@Angelbabyollie I am so sorry for what you’ve been through. And you are definitely not stupid, it can still happen. Sending lots of love. x

@Kj1010 It normally takes 4-6 weeks after a mc for AF to return, and we are only 3.5 weeks from Christmas Day now. You could try testing, but you could still have hcg left from the mc. If you got a bfp, I would wait a couple of days and test again to see if the line gets darker. I didn’t test at all after my mc cause I couldn’t bear to see the bfn. x

Hobbes39 · 18/01/2019 10:51

Hi @Kj1010 - as Rose said it takes time feet miscarriage - cycles can go haywire, I think it's v common to be a longer cycle after miscarriage clears, so don't worry.
I'm 6dp3dt - just POAS (COD I'm an idiot and can't help myself, and cos I have previously got my period at 7dp3dt) got a ridiculously faint BFP... it's so faint but it's there. Just praying this will stick. We've been so close so many times now. 🤞

littlemimosa · 18/01/2019 11:16

OOOh Hobbes _ i hope this is it for you! Fingers tightly crossed...

Angelbabyollie - i remember you and your sad story. You're so welcome here, i don't think at 42 it's too late by any means, your body will still be sorting itself out. Hope you're ok x

onemorego - have you tested again today?

Cleo - i know it's a v low dose, i'm just a bit scared to take anything higher especially since i have seen some small effects (mostly positive). Also I'm very petite/low body weight so i take recommended doses with a pinch of salt. Also I've been doing some research on dhea and it seems that the general RDA is actually 50mg but it's 75mg for IVF patients.I think i might try 20mg in a morning and 10mg at lunch and see how i feel...I'm a bit wary of taking anything that gives me energy late in the day! Anyone else got any thoughts on dosages of DHEA?
