Really enjoyed being on the Christmas day testing thread even though I was out before the 25th. I thought it would be good to start another thread for peoplw to join me in the TWW since the January buses are such a long period and some people are 14dpo and some like me are counting down the hours to the TWW. I ovulate on Friday 4th or Saturday 5th. Opks are very low at the moment but hoping to catch a surge. Still trying to DTD everyday (we are newlyweds), keep forgetting to take our vitamins and to use preseed but hoping just to get lucky on our second cycle.

Medical: High BMI and history of painful periods.
Symptoms: cramps all month long since we started to TTC...think it might be due to the relentless babydancing!

Hi, looking to join
Age 30 dp 39
Ttc #1
Cycle 1

Looking to test 14th January.

Fingers crossed and baby dust for every one Smile

Soexciting · 03/01/2019 12:14

Welcome @nutterpotter
How many days dpo are you?
I am still in my fertile week which kind of feels a bit like a second honeymoon not like last months trying which felt like a mission. Hopefully better DTDing is better at making babies!

OP when you mention you have painful periods, do you say that because it can affect conception? We're trying for #1 and I've always had the most agonising periods, I black hardly move, feel sick, had terrible aching in my legs and back ache. It's the only time my DP shows me any sympathy lol!

Soexciting · 03/01/2019 15:50

I mentioned it because I wonder if it could affect things. I feel sick sometimes, painful have to take to bed. I have had 60 day cycles with no hormonal birth control, 52 days bleeding on the implant, two attempts to get hormonal coil in failed and the hospital had to put in the smaller one when gave me excruciating pain for weeks and still painful periods. Sometimes my periods are bright red sometimes they are almost black and so painful that I feel like something has gone very wrong inside me.
It's only my second cycle, I have had normal scans, no fibroids, no cysts just a weird period problem traditionally solved in my family by having a baby (in your twenties!)

Hi!
Pleased you started a thread. I was tempted...
I’m testing on the 12th but it seems like ages away! It’s a few days early but can’t wait any longer!
I’m obsessed with symptom spotting at the moment!
TTC #2
Age: 29

ohio91 · 03/01/2019 19:10

Hey! I'm officially in this club lol. Ov date predicted as today but I think it may have been yesterday going by cramping etc. Due bfp or af on 17th Jan so we are basically in the same boat!! Going to try my best to hold off on poas but I have 5 in the drawer so I can't make any promises lol.

Age - 27
TTC - #1
Cycle 1 (should be 2 but last month I got dates wrong so it shouldn't count lol)

Soexciting · 03/01/2019 21:21

Hi @ohio91
I just took an opk and got my first ever peak the test line was actually darker than the control which is kind of didn't believe was possible so I think I ovulate tomorrow. I have the dentist on 17th so will be testing on that day so I can avoid x-rays (I know it's not necessary) and maybe they won't charge me if I am pregnant Grin

Soexciting · 03/01/2019 21:24

@hunkyd0ry how many days po are you? I was a crazy symptom spotter last month hoping to do less of it this cycle especially since I had loads of "symptoms" during my follicular stage so I am almost entirely sure that I am making some things up!

OP posts:
Hunkyd0ry · 03/01/2019 22:10

@soexciting
I'm not too sure! As I used a few online calculators and there were a couple of different dates (and I haven't used OPKs at all) but about 7 or 8?

Syncope · 03/01/2019 22:29

Hello, can I join you? AF due 16th Jan. Not quite sure when I ovulated or even if I ovulated but I suspect I'm about 1-2DPO. I'm 32 and TTC #1.

Fingers crossed for us all!

Hbs21 · 03/01/2019 22:36

Hi! Hope you don't mind if I join. AF is due on 16th so just starting TWW. First cycle trying for baby number 1!

ohio91 · 03/01/2019 23:20

@soexciting lol that may be wishful thinking on the not charging but I like your train of thought! Fx for you! Ok so on the topic of opk's... I got my strongest line on CD 14 (pic attached) and the glow app analyzed it as a negative. It was the strongest line I had seen and I had been testing like 3 times a day since cd8, mainly to see if my body matched up to the predicted ov date and ensure I didn't miss the surge in case my body ovulates a little early... Never tracked ovulation so I really had no idea if my body was going to work as normal or not lol! But anyway, im just going to assume that was indeed my surge because the next day my opk was a definite negative, but that could be because I tested a lot later in the day after peeing a ton because I was back to normal work schedule lol. We have DTD every other day since 25th dec and then 1st + 2nd Jan so even if that wasn't my surge and I ovd today instead of yesterday we SHOULD have caught it ... Fingers crossed! This TTC stuff is hard work!

BFP or AF due 19th January
ohio91 · 04/01/2019 00:32

Ok... Now I don't know what to think. Just did an opk and got a strong line. I'm cd16 Hmm I analyzed it with glow and after a few attempts to actually grab the picture it said positive. I felt like my previous one was pretty positive too ha! That pushes my predicted af date to 18th Jan now on the app 🙄 not sure wether to dtd again tonight just in case! DH is exhausted god love him Grin

BFP or AF due 19th January
Soexciting · 04/01/2019 10:55

I would take both of those as positive which would confused me. Opks are so confusing as it is!
I think you better jump on DH.
Last night was our 9th night DTD in a row plus a couple of day sessions in there. I read that when a man is really into it they produce 25% more sperm. After functional and ultimately unsuccessful DTD last month had to bring out the big guns last night and put on a sexy undies. I am trying to see this fertile week (we are alone for a week in a house in the country) as a second honeymoon and enjoy this baby making business.
Good luck with the DTD I am planning to DTD every other day for another week I think so that definitely don't miss a late ovulation. Don't tell DH, he might run away!

Hunkyd0ry · 04/01/2019 16:10

Just to confuse you- I read that too much DTD can produce lower quality sperm. So every other day was the guidance we went with

Meganrb · 04/01/2019 16:44

Can I join, pretty sure I ovulated today, same day as last month. First cycle. AF due 16th Jan, 29th Birthday on the 22nd Jan. Wait and see time!

glowingtwigs · 04/01/2019 17:32

I'm in! One or two days DPO if I ovulated, as didn't get a totally positive opk this month and not my usual ovulation pains.

It's cycle 5 for us since early m/c.

My boobs are really sore and swollen already (but going to try not to symptom spot this month Grin).

Soexciting · 04/01/2019 21:10

I have read that DTD everyday has a 25% chance of conception and DTD every other day 22% chance assuming no sperm problems. I am assuming that DH has no sperm problems given that he is youngish, fittish and half bald which I always thought meant virile! One of my best friends conceived after switching from every day to every other day so will maybe try that after this month.

Welcome @meganrb hope you get a lovely birthday present this year!
Welcome @glowingtwigs hoping that sore boobs are a good sign for you, sorry for your loss x

sal1987 · 04/01/2019 21:27

Hi everyone. This is cycle lost count, it's been over a year so you can imagine the frustration kicking in!!
I'm on ovulation day today so the start of my TWW, my DP works shifts so he is being made to DTD tonight and tomorrow just to cover all possibilities (sure DP will be thrilled 😂😂😂)
I feel like I'm determined not to symptom spot because over the past year I feel like I have had every symptom going so hopefully with being relaxed as it's Xmas holiday and trying not to spot it might happen this month!
Fx for you all and myself!!

JingleAllTheQuack · 04/01/2019 21:39

Joining this thread!

Age: 31
TTC: #2
Cycle: 1
1 DPO

Every other day worked for us last time (conceived 2nd cycle) so taking the same approach this time!

Meganrb · 05/01/2019 11:21

I’m only like 2-3 dpo with no temp increase yet, my temp always takes a couple of days to go up after I’ve ovulated. But I’ve woken up this morning light headed and dizzy and also a bit nauseous. Likelihood of it being all in my head? It’s not possible to have symptoms yet surely? Thanks

ohio91 · 05/01/2019 18:13

@meganrb I'm no expert as I've only just started the whole TTC journey, but I've done a heck of a lot of reading up in the last 2 months and from what I've read you will only start feeling true pregnancy related symptoms once hcg builds in your body... And hcg only starts building from implantation. 2-3dpo is far too early for implantation. What you're feeling is coincidental unfortunately! But I'm a sucker for spymtpom spotting too haha! I had myself convinced I was pregnant last month because I felt so nauseous and off, but it was a BFN so I guess I was actually just unwell at the time and I was probably exasperating the symptoms I was feeling because I wanted it to be due to pregnancy! Best of luck! I'm about 2-3 dpo too! Hopefully BFP for both of us in just under 2 weeks time!
