Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it. Hmm

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@Scarletrose18 that chart is amazing thank you Smile

PastaSauceHoarder · 18/11/2018 19:15

Ooh good chart, @Scarletrose18! Interestingly I start ovulating CD17. Though I never noticed much CM. 🤔 I'm hoping that preseed really helps!

Awh, bless him @Cocobana! How old did you say your little one was again, is he 20 months?
Is anyone else super excited that their babies can open their own Christmas presents this year? Because I am! Grin🎄

Cocobana · 18/11/2018 19:45

@PastaSauceHoarder yeah 20 months and growing so quickly! Omg never realised that but they will be able to won’t they! I can’t wait, last Christmas ds just sort of sat amongst them (well lay lazy boy lol) but this year he’ll be walking around and opening them; what a complete change! I’m thinking I’ll have to tie my tree to secure it because I can see ds pulling it down otherwise!

Cocobana · 18/11/2018 19:48

Christmas is so much more exciting since I’ve had ds [santa] do you both find you look foward to it more than you did pre kids? 🎄☃️🎁🎊

PastaSauceHoarder · 18/11/2018 20:01

Oh my goodness yes, and I loved Christmas so much pre-baby anyway! Having my DD to share it with now is like an absolute dream!

Haha good shout about the Christmas tree! God knows what I'm going to do, DD especially likes anything twinkly and sparkly so I imagine a few of the decorations will go missing at some point. 🤔

Also Christmas dinner! They'll be able to eat that this year, won't they? DD just sort of chewed on a weeny bit of carrot last year, this year she'll chomp it right down. 😂

Whats your little boy getting this year present-wise? 🎁

Cocobana · 18/11/2018 21:50

@PastaSauceHoarder exactly it’s even more amazing with little ones isn’t it! Haha I think ds will be the same with the ornaments and the lights too, he’s fast too. Yes Christmas dinner will be so much easier won’t it, last year ds got too overwhelmed and wouldn’t eat much of his dinner. This year now he’s eating better and abit older too hopefully he’ll eat more of it. What a difference a year makes eh!
Present wise he’s getting loads and will be thoroughly spoiled. Mind you he does need more stuff 18 month/2 plus age as I’ve noticed he’s outgrown a lot of his current toys so we’ve been getting some older toys. I’ve been working on stocking fillers and getting some books and some last minute stuff in. He’s pretty much sorted though. How about your dd? Do you have much left to get? 🎉🎁☃️🎄I’ve got dh and some of my relatives nothing as yet but I have got acouple of birthday to get out then way yet...I’ll have to get more organised though! [santa]

Cocobana · 18/11/2018 21:50

though *

Cocobana · 18/11/2018 21:51

/s the sorry about the typos!

PastaSauceHoarder · 18/11/2018 22:05

Awh it sounds lovely! I see what you mean about needing older toys, I need to go through DD's toyboxes and get rid of a few things intended for younger babies (well put them aside for number 2 hopefully!)

DD is going to be seriously spoilt too. Blush One of her main gifts is her first ever baby doll - I can't wait to give it to her, I know shes going to love it. Shes obsessed with 'babas' at the mo! My mum and dad are getting her a doll pram to go with it too, I can't wait to see her little face! Smile

Aside from my dad (the hardest person in the world to buy for) I think I'm practically done. Wouldn't mind getting a few more bits for DH just to up the pile a bit. How about your DH, is he hard to buy for or is he not too bad?

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 10:23

Aww how cute @PastaSauceHoarder the baby doll and pram sounds lovely! I bet you can’t wait to see your dd when she gets it. I can’t wait to see ds’s face on Christmas morning. I’m so excited because a week on Saturday I can acceptably put Christmas decs up without looking like a weirdo!! I can’t wait to put all the lights and tree and everything up.
Dh is easy enough to buy for, he’s not fussy and usually likes what I get. I’ll have to get looking. My parents are okay to buy for, I’ve got my Mam’s present in but do need to veg my dad something.
Are you hosting Christmas this year or do you go to relatives?

@Scarletrose18 how are you? Hope you had a nice weekend. Are you still managing to ward off your dh’s advances?

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 10:24

get* lol not veg

Scarletrose18 · 19/11/2018 17:12

@cocobana had a super busy weekend and so there hasnt been much time for any of that lol. I told him that I have decided id like to wait until first proper cycle so no dtd until wed and he is happy enough with that. So just the countdown until AF. 2 weeks it should be here. So wierd everything has changed because I was certain it was coming on Saturday with the cramps.

How are you both? Getting all ready for ov? @pastasaucehoarder you ov day 17, what day are you on now? And coco you are this week? x

OP posts:
Cocobana · 19/11/2018 18:28

@Scarletrose18 hope your week settles down for you abit. You’re doing the right thing as best to wait for AF if you would feel better knowing your dates better. I think coming off the pill can cause a range of symptoms and it’s very confusing at times.
I’m good, just bathing ds at moment. My fertile window is supposed to start tomorrow and end Sunday and I’m supposed to ovulate Thursday (if 28 day cycle still.) I have no idea if the latter will happen though Confused I’m taking ov tests to keep track so hopefully soon (fc)

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 18:30

Are you all sorted to Christmas? I can’t believe it’s mid November where has the Mir gone!?! x 🎄🎁☃️

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 18:30

time* my dodgy mobile

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 18:30

and for* I give up lol

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/11/2018 18:36

Ooh yes @Cocobana, we're planning on putting our decs up then too! I've never hosted, though we do throw a big party for everyone a couple of days before Christmas. We'll be spending Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with DH's - how about yourself? Smile

Sounds like you're getting a good indication on where you are in your cycle at least, @Scarletrose18! I'm currently on CD10, so one week away from ovulation. I took a test today just to make sure but as predicted it was totally blank, so I'll just keep taking them in the run up.

Fingers crossed your cycle all goes to plan, @Cocobana!

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 20:05

Thanks @PastaSauceHoarder I hope so! That sounds lovely, we’re hosting, we usually do but I don’t mind.
My ovulation test was blank today too, I know it can change in an instant but it’s disheartening isn’t it!?!

PastaSauceHoarder · 19/11/2018 20:28

I'm quite happy it was blank to be honest, @Cocobana. Smile My cycle has been like clockwork for the past four months, but now that I'm actually at the time where I can TTC I'm really paranoid that this month everything will just go out of whack for no reason!! So I'm just testing to keep my eye on things.

I almost can't believe that we're going to start trying next week... I've been waiting and planning this for months, seems weird that its now so close! I think I'm also in happy disbelief that DH actually seems as excited as I am. He was so strict with waiting until November, its lovely to see him so relaxed and talking about trying for 'our next one'. Smile

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 21:47

@PastaSauceHoarder oh that makes sense. I’m sure everything will be as expected this month especially after it being like clockwork for you for 4 months. I know what you mean, I think we know our own bodies but there’s always a nagging doubt that’s it won’t go how we think it will. As for your dh my dh was similar. He wasn’t ready to even talk about conceiving until very recently and we then both decided trying this month (well from mid October but we knew by time I got my cycle back it would be most likely November). I find now myself and dh will talk about ‘when we have a nother’ rather than ‘if we have another’ which is nice. It almost feels as if after a second child our little family will feel complete.

Cocobana · 19/11/2018 21:47

decided for*

PastaSauceHoarder · 20/11/2018 12:10

Yes its lovely isn't it, @Cocobana. Smile We're lucky that our DH's are so on board! Honestly I don't think I could take waiting any longer!

How are you today? I've got 3 more days until I'm in my fertile window, 6 more until a positive test. Seriously on the countdown now.
I wonder if you will ovulate Thursday or if you'll do it sooner? You'll be the first of us in the TWW! Shock You'll have to tell us about your symptom spotting haha. What were your first pregnancy symptoms with your little boy?

Cocobana · 20/11/2018 13:38

Hi @PastaSauceHoarder I’m good thank you, how are you? Your fertility window is so close now, you’re almost there! My fertility window starts today, I know it’ll be interesting to find out. I put my dates in on an app and it calculated Saturday as my ovulation date with my fertility window starting today and ending Sunday. I’ve obviously worked it out wrong! I’ll test everyday to make sure.
I can’t see it happening this month though as they do say on average it can take 6 months to a year even (hope it doesn’t take a year OMG!) My earliest symptoms last time were thinking I had a tummy bug! I felt nauseous and lost my appetite. They do say all pregnancies are different though don’t they.

Cocobana · 20/11/2018 13:42

How are you today @Scarletrose18? Have you decided you’re definitely going to wait until after AF?

Scarletrose18 · 20/11/2018 15:07

Sorry for late replying guys.
So exciting that you only have 6 days to wait @pastasaucehoarder im sure it will come in fast Smile then you will be on the 2 week wait!
Only a few days to wait for you @cocobana eeeek!
How many brazil nuts are you on each day now? Smile

Yes still happy to wait, shouldnt be fertile anymore now I dont think. So Im now on my 2 week wait for AF I assume just under 2 weeks until af arrives, thats right isnt it? If my cycle is same as it used to be pre ds. Ds being quite wingy today and yesterday and testing my patience so makes it feel easier to wait for another 😂😂
