Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

I'm sure I read that you're supposed to eat about five nuts a day for the whole of the TWW, @Cocobana! I hope it helps somewhat, I'll probably be sick of them by the end haha!

I'm not myself sure, I've just been reading into how often is okay to DTD and I've read conflicting things... Some say multiple times a day can be damaging whilst some recommend it. So I don't know! My original plan was to do it on the 24th, 26th, 27th ans 28th. The 26th and 27th is when I should get my positive OPKs, so I was thinking maybe once in the morning and then later on in the evening on those two days? Ah I don't know, I just want it so much, I need to feel like I'm doing all I can if you know what I mean?

This whole thing is so confusing @pastasaucehoarder I really dont know which is best. We dtd everyday with ds sometimes more and concieved but then every person is different. Do u think you could wait until every other day? What did you do with dc1?

I took a pt just to be sure and it was negative, took another opk and I think it looks darker than control line now. Not sure when that means I ovulate, I still feel cramping.
Not going to dtd now, going to wait until next cycle....although we dtd Fri night but hopefully thats far away enough (just really hope I dont regret this and this ovulation be a one hit wonder )

Sorry for taking over and talking about myself alot last few posts ladies... I dont have anyone else to chat to about it and I dont fully understand it all as I never waited or got dark opk with ds. I appreciate all your help and advice

It says online that ovulation occurs roughly 36 hours after a LH surge, @Scarletrose18 - though sperm can survive up to five days inside you so I think there is a slim chance of it working from you DTD on Friday. How will you feel if you got pregnant this month?

I know its hard not to worry about it but I'm sure that your cycle is fine and you'll ovulate again next month. At least now you have a good idea on when AF should be coming, and you can start from fresh!

Regarding DTD, I feel like I probably won't be able to wait every other day... Like if it doesn't work it'll be my fault for not trying enough (which I know is totally irrational).
When we conceived our toddler we were in the midst of wedding planning and were still living separately at home, so we were only DTD twice a week maybe - it was the one time DH didn't use a condom and I ended up skipping a pill!

Also don't apologise at all!! This is what this thread is for, I also don't have anyone to talk to about TTC in real life and quite frankly its you lot that are keeping me sane! Its great knowing that we're all in the same boat - I'm going to be so excited when you and @Cocobana get your BFP, even though we're basically just strangers on the internet!!

@PastaSauceHoarder thank you for the nut tips I’m going to be nutted out lol. I know what you mean about wanting it so much, it def puts the pressure on. I think that sounds absolutely fine as far as DTD is concerned. I know I’m going to find it too difficult to not do it everyday because what if it’s a wasted chance!?! The same as @Scarletrose18 we dtd regularly before conceived DS and sometimes twice in a row and it worked then. I’m abit more tired these days though and less opportunity with ds around lol.
@Scarletrose18 oh not at all, you aren’t talking about yourself too much at all, you’re lovely. I know what you mean I feel like I can’t talk to others about it either, it’s so much easier on here. As @pastasaucehoarder said I’ll be so excited for both of you too!! You ladies are fantastic! It’s amazing that despite being strangers online we’re a very similar journey.

@pastasaucehoarder I would be over the moon (and a little bit scared lol) but I would be super happy as its such an amazing blessing but if I have the choice I think id rather hold off until proper cycle which sounds crazy when i started this thread called time to ttc lol. Would feel dif if i had my af already.

Aww i understand you will over analyse it thinking if I had of dtd more maybe could of happened whereas if u do everything (lots of bedding, nuts, pre seed etc) you will feel well at least u tried. Well thats a good sign for this cycle if u concieved so easily... u must be super fertile

Yes I think ur both lovely too, I have an image of what u both look like in my head. When will it be safe to dtd again then do u think? Maybe Tues/Wed? Just incase dh tries some moves 😂😂 (loving i can use a laughy face now he he)

Just thinking u and I dtd everyday coco and concieved boys, pasta only once or twice concieved girl. so it will be boys all round next time ha ha xx

I reckon Wednesday would probably be safe, @Scarletrose18! I do get what you mean about wanting a proper cycle first, you'd be able to date the pregnancy properly if you knew when your last AF was too!

@Scarletrose18 haha it would be so funny if your were right with what me and @pastasaucehoarder look like. It can be strange what you think people look like, it’s like when you hear somebody’s voice on the phone at work and don’t know what they look like! I wonder if there is any truth to the theory, I’d love one of each but at this moment in time I’d be happy and grateful for a second baby no matter a boy or a girl I’d be delighted with either.
@Scarletrose18 you’ll have to watch out in anticipation for your dh’s moves and have him under strict instructions for the time being lol.

Got my first faint line on the ovulation test today but I know it means it’s negative still but guess it’s better than blank, I’ll test again tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get a postitive next week.(Fc)

Ooh yes @Cocobana, thats a good sign, just keep testing!! I'm sure you'll get your positive within the week, that's so exciting.

I was supposed to start testing today but totally forgot. 🙄 I already know when I ovulate mind, but its still nice to make sure!

I also would be happy with either a boy or girl, DH reckons we'll end up with another girl though. We went through all her old clothes to take to the charity shop this afternoon, can't believe how little she used to be!!

@pastasaucehoarder thank you so much, I hope so. For some reason I’ve been so nervous I won’t ovulate, maybe the testing is making me more conscious of it and not knowing for sure when it will happen.
Aww that was really good of you to take them in. I have all ds’s stuff in loft and will hand me down some of it if I have another boy and rest to charity shop. Some of the neutral stuff I’d be able to use on a girl. I can’t get over how big ds is getting, it seems just like yesterday he was teeny tiny! I bet it’s the same for you with your dd.

@cocobana if u can mqnage every 2 to 3 days maybe a girl? I dont think any of the 3 of us could manage that. Were too impatient

I'm brunette! I was blonde for years though, only went dark again this year. As for the slim part, I wish! Maybe pre-baby but I'm definitely a bit more wobbly than I used to be. 😂

Yes it did only seem like yesterday that she was so little, @Cocobana! She still is quite dinky though really, shes 17 months and she's only just grown out've her 9-12mth clothes. We've definitely gotten a lot of use out've her stuff!

@Scarletrose18 haha so sorry to spoil your image! I was a blonde child but my hair did go darker as I got older and I started to dye it. So even thought I’ve been blonde most of my life technically if I let it grow out now I would be a brunette lol so you’re half right!

@pastasaucehoarder ahh me and scarlet both wrong but maybe we sensed you used to be blonde aww bless your dd sounds so cute. Ds is really tall and we have to size up in his clothes.
