Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@Scarletrose18 that sounds promising that your AF is hopefully on the way so that you know where you are. Usually regular yeah and been 28 days exactly all my life with the exception of after I had ds and went back on pill. It went to 26 days. Assuming it’ll be back to 28 again but I don’t have a clue and won’t know for sure until I get my next period. I know what you mean about feeling like you’ve been off the pill awhile, after 3 weeks 3 days I was so pleased to get AF it had felt like months. Now the dreaded wait for ov and hoping my body will do what it’s suppose to. It’s so stupid because it hasn’t let me down before but when you want something so bad it certainly feels like a nervous wait.

Oh yeah he shops are manic, I’ve been getting some stuff online but for some things they’re unavoidable plus I do like to have a look around. I feel abit behind this year with it all. Got ds’s sorted though which is the main thing.

I need a virtual slap. I poas today. It's 8 days till after is due!

@cocobana Yes have a headache and cramps sorer now, suddenly not so happy af is coming now, i forgot about this part. Ha ha. anyway I shouldnt complain im happy its on its way .
Thats great to have so regular, mine would of been 28 days too so hoping goes back to that. I know, I feel the same, its so hard to know what way you will be when u stop birth control... i still get a feeling that things wont work and theres no basis for me to feel that way. I think its the media and things we hear and read.

@cheesemumma aww, its so hard not to isnt it. Weve all been there. I also need a slap, iv just taken my opk. I cant resist its like a bad habit ha ha.

Ok just looked at my test (u have to wait 10 mins for results) and shut the front door guys.... what is this?! Im now super confused. So am i ovulating or starting my period?!?

Whoah and close all the windows @Scarletrose18 because that looks like you’re ovulating to me! Could it be that AF might be later than you’re thinking and this could be in fact your fertility window?? Omg so confusing, wow this could be a major opportunity to DTD!?! Just when you’re thinking you know where you are in your cycle aswell.
Not up to too much tonight, ds took alittle while to get to sleep as he’s teething and been alittle fussy at the moment bless him. Might watch some of my series (takes me an eternity to get to watch anything these days.)

I do d opks so confusing. When is AF due? Some people say they can be used as a pregnancy test also, any chance of that?

Im tucked up in bed with DD snoring next to me. She should be in her own bed, but I like to have her close especially when DH is working nights.

@Scarletrose18 take a test, some people get positive OPKs and then a BFP! Fingers crossed x

@cocobana I feel so much like my period is coming with the cramps...I will pounce on dh later just incase. ha ha.

Aww poor wee soul. Its not nice to see them in pain and theres not alot you can do. Hopefully a good nights sleep will help him.

We are watching father of the bride, I had recorded it a while ago. Its sooo good. They dont make movies like this anymore

Your cramps were probably ovulation cramps, I get them every month. Some women get headaches too when ovulating, and remember this is also the first time after being on the pill so it might be super symptomy! I don't think its uncommon to ovulate before getting AF after coming off contraception, same thing happened to me. Seize your window, we're wishing you loads of luck!

@senorasurf hello! Welcome to our group Thank you for the advice, I didnt know that, I only came off my pill 2 weeks ago so I dont think it could be that. Im waiting for my first period just now so I have dates and can ttc. I have af cramps too but with my opk positive maybe this is just me ovulating now but with cramping because its the first time in so long.

@cheesemumma not sure as this will be my first proper af since ds. Aww sweet that she snuggles with you. My ds is all about daddy, never wants to snuggle with me. Hoping any future dc is more about mummy lol

@pastasaucehoarder it really is like period cramps, crazy. Never had that before... Im a little scared now to dtd when i think of it because if it is ovulation because surely my womb lining wont be able to support a baby as not had period to get lining back to normal.

When did your af end? How many days until ov now for you? X

AF ended about 3 days ago for me and my fertile week starts in 6. It'll be 9 days until I actually get a positive OPK though (going by my data from the last fiveish months!)

I think I'm doing okay not thinking about it too much. Though I bought my brazil nuts today which feels like another step forward!

@Scarletrose18 thank you, hopefully ds will and be much better in the morning. aww that movie is a classic and one of my all time favourites, I always loved the father of the bride house too, it’s so perfect!

I had cramps for awhile before I got my period when I came off the pill, I do think it’s your body getting used to a cycle again. As for the womb lining I got pregnant with ds before I got my first natural period again in the first month. I didn’t realise there were risks though? I would have thought twice if I’d known. I took the opportunity because I’d heard from some people that you can be alittle more fertile when come off the pill (no idea if any truth in it but it worked for me.)

@pastasaucehoarder I am worried though that if we dont take this oppertunity what if I dont ov again for ages as I dont have any sort of cycle yet.... I will get on google and see what it says (because everything u read on google is reliable and true ya know ha ha) although we did do the deed last night.
6 days really isnt long! Will you start opking early just incase? Or will that mess with your head too much? Brazil nuts at the ready lol

It’s great news that you are ov though as at least everything is happening like it’s meant too

@pastasaucehoarder I think ours fall around he same time as my fertile window is meant to start Tuesday and end Sunday with me ovulating somewhere inbetween.

I’m thinking twice a day maybe three times lol no just kidding I’m thinking will try every other day but I’ll be tempted to DTD everyday even though I’ve heard it could be counter productive. Will be doing it in the lead up too for sure. How about you?
