Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

I start back 2nd Jan @pasta wbu? Yes they are very tasty, iv only ate half of the bag so I will save the rest for in a few days time (ill try to anyway 😂) My Ovia dates all changed once I entered my opk dates vut I suppose by next cycle it will be more accurate because more data will be entered

@PastaSauceHoarder thank you so much for your help, gosh there’s parts of this app I didn’t even realise existed! It’s very thorough; I love it. Aww you will be, hope Friday comes quick for you. Dh is the same way, he works so many hours he’s ready for Friday. He’s off all over Christmas and in between so I’m looking forward to him being here more. I know but to be honest once I got started it wasn’t too bad, I think it was more the thought of it being left to do. I got all the gifts done that I need to give before Christmas Day. The gifts I have left to wrap I have until Christmas Day to do so I can just take my time with those ones.
What will you sing on karaoke? Some Christmas songs maybe? 🎄🎅🏼🎉🎤🎊

To be honest I tried a chicken biryani at a takeaway and that tasted so good, I want to be able to make it again at home
But can't find any similar recipes on the Internet

@Scarletrose18 I'm actually wondering how long it will take me to get pregnant also, whether it will be quick or take ages.
Right now I don't feel pregnant, boob soreness has gone slightly and haven't had any IB or anything. How about you?

@Cocobana thanks, I'm an okay cook. I could be better so I try to learn from MIL 😂. Omg I love Thai curry actually feel like making one today yummm, it's less smelly than other curries.

I find that cooking spices in curry stinks up the house and the clothes I'm wearing and my hair! So as soon as I've done have to shower, but the smell in takes ages to

@blueflower Its hard not knowing if you are pregnant or not, unfortunatley there is really no way to know until test day. And af symptoms are so similar to pg ones that it confuses us even more! 🙄

What age are you @blue if u dont mind me asking? I remember u saying your a student, do u get alot of time off over the holidays?

And have a long summer so going to work full time during it!

@Blueflower22 morning, oh yes they are certainly very fragrant aren’t they but worth it for the end result! I love spicy food but also appreciate milder dishes too.
Aww you’re lovely and young, your fertility will be great just like @pasta’s! The rest of us ladies are in our thirties but we’re 25 on here

Morning @Scarletrose18 I know it’s slightly random but how’s your ds around the Christmas tree? I’ve just caught ds with a bauble and on closer inspection I’m noticing some missing ornaments and beginning to think he’s got a little cubby hole somewhere!

@Blueflower22 yes I think it makes a difference as you’re fertility declines when you get older. This is what it says online:

‘women are most fertile before the age of 30. after 30, women's fertility starts to decrease. after 35 fertility declines more significantly. by 40, a woman's fertility is about half the level it was before she was 30’

@Cocobana apparently there is only 25% chance of getting pregnant each cycle?
If that's the case then how do people get pregnant the first time round

@Blueflower22 I know it’s crazy isn’t it. I remember watching the video of the journey the sperm takes to get to the egg and I thought that’s never going to happen to me. It did and I got pregnant in the first month with ds after coming off the pill and I was 30. Babies are little miracles I think.

@Cocobana same I keep reading about how there's many stages and first sperm have to reach the egg, then dna has to be healthy, than egg has to implant in the right place 😂😂

Fingers crossed you should be in for a good chance @Blueflower22, I was 20 when I fell pregnant with my little girl. Its scary how low the chances are of getting pregnant every month though, I'm hoping it means couples that just have regular unprotected sex and not those who are charting and OPKing like crazy!! Maybe we've all got a better chance. 😂

I'm sorry @Cocobana but that made me giggle! Your DS sounds like a cheeky one! 😂 DD keeps pulling my tinsel down from around the coffee table. 😒 Toddlers ey?!

Had my darkest OPK today. Still not a positive I don't think but we're due to DTD tonight so I'll be covered just in case.

@PastaSauceHoarder thanks, my day hasn’t been too bad. How was your karaoke and what did you sing? Are you broken up for Christmas now or do you have to go in tomorrow? Lol ds is certainly cheeky, I’ve found one of the missing ornaments he’s hidden; the little monkey! I know you have to have eyes in the back of your head, it really is relentless isn’t it. It’ll be so much easier when ds is older but at the same time I’ll probably miss him being a baby!

Ooo sounds like ovulation is on the way @pasta (fc). I’m still getting second lines but I would say mine is a little way off yet. I’m CD12 today. My bleeding has stopped so that’s good, it lasted about 24 hours.

Don't be disheartened @Blueflower22, its far too early yet to get a BFP! When is your AF due? You'd be better testing around that time.

Karaoke was today @Cocobana, I didn't sing anything. It was mostly the kids (they're not a talented bunch, bless them 😂)
But I am now officially FINISHED FOR CHRISTMAS!! 🎉🎄🎅🏻🎁🎆
Though theres no rest for the wicked, I'm having a Christmas party tomorrow night so I'm spending my evening cleaning the house.

How are you today? How're your OPKs looking? Mine are still quite dark but still don't look positive to me yet. Going to DTD tonight again though because I definitely don't want to miss it if these light lines turn out to be my ovulation!!
