Hello all of you lovely mumsnet peeps! So I have literally just created an account right now.

Just stopped my mini pill. Have a 15 month old son, excited and nervous to try for baby 2! Baby one came after first period from stopping pill which i know was very fortunate but its given my high expectations for this time...which is not a good thing as chances are wont happen that way twice. Trying to be realistic and casual about it.

Anyone else trying for second... or first?

@Mfbroome the ovia app, it’s great. Wow that’s crazy how your opk is positive again. Will you DTD just in case? I’ll be pleased to get AF over with and count down to my next fertile window if it starts when it’s supposed to!!

Last night was very faint then this morning very strong line again. But I’ve read it needs to be darker than control lime? What are ur thoughts

Urgh same @Cocobana, I'm ready to get this period over with now and be on the countdown to ovulation! I ordered some more OPKs yesterday so I'm nice and ready. Is it CD2 for you now? I'm CD3 now, crazy how close we are!

@Mfbroome I thought the same or darker was a positive. Bet it’s so confusing. I think as @pasta said it’s not unheard of despite being strange! These cycles can be so weird can’t they?!

@PastaSauceHoarder day 2, we are def cycle buddies. My new supply of OPKs arrived today. They came with ten free pregnancies tests and my sane mind knows that’s plenty for testing from day of missed period. However my crazy ttc mind is thinking do I need to order a load more pregnancy test strips!?

How do u find the ovulation sticks, do you get a test line every time?

@Mfbroome I think there’s LH always in our systems so some women do get faint lines all the time. If it’s as deep as control line or deeper it’s a positive. I find my line got deeper as ovulation approached then faded again after it.

Sorry ladies, another crazy day, yes @mfbroome I get a light line everyday then it goes dark before ovulation. Here is a pic of mine if that helps u compare. Yes make up with dh and get to dtd 🙂 I think you could still ovulate on expected date though. What cal day are you?

@coco @pasta you guys are so close in dates, I wonder will you ov around the same time this month too.. that would be fun as then you will both be in the crazy tww together lol. I have loads of pg tests and ill probably be taking about 3 a day in the tww 😂

The one from Sunday looked a lot darker a few days ago I feel like it has faded lol. But anyway the results from today are defo negatives. Maybe it was a random surge? Anyway DTD yday just incase. I’ll keep testing anyway and watching :)

Im on cd 11. Acording to ovia my fertile time starts tomorrow and i should grt positive opk on sat or sun.

Just went to the loo and had light pink spotting mixed in with my ewcm. So not sure what that is.

@Scarletrose18 I know it’s crazy how close me and @pasta are in our cycles, it’ll be interesting to seen when we both get +opks. I’m so tempted to buy the same pregnancy tests as you, I’ve got them in my amazon basket just haven’t clicked through yet. I do have ten already and know that’s prob enough for this cycle but I like idea of having more ‘just incase.’ Just read your message about the spotting, do you normally spot between periods? Do you think it could be things settling back down after coming off the pill? I felt like my first af was light but this one is alittle heavier (sorry for tmi 🤢) and that it has taken my body a couple of months to settle down.

@Mfbroome I know it’s cool isn’t it. My cycle was supposed to be 28 days and @pasta’s 31 days but we sort of swapped and ended up at the same time. Not sure how long mine will be this cycle! Think my body has been settling back down after coming off the pill. It’s exciting that you should get +opks this week!

Hope everybody is sorted for Christmas, I still have acouple of presents to get and haven’t wrapped anything yet! I’ll have to get a move on!

Im the same coco I have everything pretty much bar a few bits - but only a few things wrapped - I need to get a Wriggle on this weekend lol!
Can’t believe how close it is now! We have decorated but hey to pop the tree up as it’s oitsode in water for a week 😩 it’s something DH insists on every year! Have you started opks yet? Or u still on AF?

@scarlet ... that’s strange? Yes maybe just some after pill spotting?
I do love the Ovia app but I get so confused as my fertile days are different on all three of the apps I use 😂 I feel like now using opks this cycle I’m starting to get a bit obbssesed 🙈 if we don’t DTD I get really stressed out! Which doesn’t feel great...Does anyone else feel like this?!
I reckon if it doesn’t happen this cycle I will take a break ttc for jan/feb we are on holiday Feb so I’ll chill a bit 🙈🤣

@Mfbroome oh no I bet you just want your tree indoors 🎄 sounds like your dh has a thorough process for it though! Still AF for me, I’ll start OPKing end of the week probably. Are you going anywhere nice on holiday? I agree, I think we’ll ttc for about 3 months and if no luck prob take a small break...

@cocobana no I have never had spotting off of the pill. Its away now anyway, was only a tiny bit. My ewcm is here, i always get quite alot and it always feels like af is starting down there (sorry defo tmi lol) I dont like how it feels 🙄
Buy them!! Lol Im such a bad influence, but I think i will use mine up no problem 😂 but you have far more self control so maybe you wont need them. Wont be long before your opking

@mfbroome yes I get totally obsessed with the opks, i actually get excited to get home and take it, and then I label each one with the date and stick it to a card so i can compare them 😂🤣😂🤣 A break away will be lovely.

I like ovia too, but my fertile time has stretched to 10 days now which I dont really get. So are we supposed to dtd everyday for these 10 days! 🤔😴 And it still says fertile quite a few days after positive opk is due.

And I find it a bit much tbh! Especially as I have it in my Fitbit app and I have flo aswell it’s like a span of like 14 days between all 3 😂 I’ve read a lot about how unreliable the estimation can be on the apps so that’s why I am a little cautious of that? It’s cool though still to see what the situation is.

I think it spans fertile for a while after the main ov days because obviously it could still happen. The egg might hang around longer after or maybe the sperm could last quite a few days before the eggs released??

Thats so exciting that you should get your positive OPK this week @Scarletrose18, what do you think your method will be this time? As in do you reckon you'll DTD as much as possible around the time of ovulation or try and do it every other day?
I'm also jealous about your EWCM, I never seem to get much. 😂

I'm guessing you have a real tree then, @Mfbroome? I bet your kids are so excited! My DD has just learnt how to say 'wow', so every time we pass a house with lights or see a Christmas tree in the shops its all "Wow! Wow! WOW!" 😂

My presents are wrapped and under the tree @Cocobana, I only stayed up until ten past one this morning to get the all done. 😂🎁 Hows your DS doing with the tree? My DD is being a menace, we have Disney decorations on our tree and she's got a particular liking for poor old Pluto - he's missing his nose now. 🙄

Still AF over here too, though its definitely getting much lighter, almost all gone. Should be maybe finished by tomorrow, though I would like to DTD tonight - feels like its been a while since sex was for fun rather than for procreation if you get what I mean, and I definitely don't want start seeing it as a chore. I'm feeling so much more relaxed this cycle.

@mfbroome Maybe it will change again once we enter ov date. I think my positive opk is due at weekend. Will yours be due at weekend then too? First cycle so I dont know for sure but I would think so. I have never been skiing either my coordination isnt very good so I would prob be awful at it lol

@pasta , I will see how much enery we have lol. Dh has been working crazy long days. I feel really chilled out so far this cycle too! I feel like I should be thinking about it loads and planning (and I normally would) but im not right now. (Give me a few more days and i prob will be overthinking it ha ha) Yes it takes the romance out of things for sure. Will you start opking as soon as AF ends @pasta
